If you press the Windows key and PRTSCN Key it will take a screenshot of your computer screen. it saves this to a folder in your pictures folder. Of concern in what you are saying is that 2 of the notes are louder/ different than the rest. This happens when the keyboard is broken. It’s the sensor switches fail over time. I had this happen to my old Roland p200. The C and D keys were stuck at full velocity. I had to buy a new controller.

Number one cause of bad audio is the Realtek ASIO driver. I have a video about using on board audio that will help you get things working.

I don't think anyone has made a full course for Cakewalk. Sonar yes, but those are sort of mostly outdated. The reason so many people now produce for you tube is those very same adds you don't like can actually net a small income for the creator. You need something like 1,000 subscribers before the ad people will show interest in you. And there's a good question, Because I pay an annual fee for You Tube I haven't seen an add in years. But do people watching my videos see adds? I only have 64 subscribers at this point but it's been growing all of a sudden. I'm probably never gong to see any cash from this but it was never my intent. But this guy is probably smart and only asking a small fee for his videos might pay off better than if he had gone the You tube route. Cakewalk is pretty small user base but You tube is defiantly where people will search for any help. I get all sorts of questions in the you tube comments section and via PM's on Facebook and those people obviously have never found this forum. I thought about creating a course but that would take months so I'd have to charge something. That's too much of a hassle. I'm happy with doing the task specific videos. This new series I'm working, Recording a Song https://youtu.be/VaiBAmap0a8 is as close as I will get to a all inclusive course. I start with basic set up and will end with a finished mastered wave/ mp3 file. It all takes time. I often spend a few days just preparing and running test sessions. What is supper beneficial to me is while doing this I learn a lot more than I would have thought possible about Cakewalk. I also figure out things I hadn't bothered with before. Like I will need to figure out Ripple editing and the arranger track now.

Certainly very reasonable price but possibly about what the value might be. I watched the 2 videos they offer as demo's the introduction and the how to install portion. Not a lot to go on but you can get an idea of the pace, the narrators voice as well as production quality. Which is basic and homemade ( just like mine ) but seem they will be at a nice slower pace and easy to follow. My favorite is check out the dudes desktop icons, it's sort of a bit of an "whoops I shouldn't post that in a instructional video" thing.

At this point I’m not sure what to op wants, might be a language issue. First it sounded like wanting recording notes to be all same velocity which is a function built in to most controllers as I mentioned Then it would seem they are wanting to change the velocity of the all ready recorded notes. That can be done with either a CAL script or by this. in PVR: Select all. CNTL A Pick a note with the lowest velocity drag the velocity to the max. let go now drag them down to the desired level

It's in the bottom of the export dialog if you choose a preset. You can make your own presets in the other dialog box that opens when you select advanced, or use file / export/audio
-
VLC will play any resolution but Windows Media player requires you to set your audio driver first. I just stick with 44.1/16 for export because it works for everything including CD. You need to change your settings

Trust me. I did that back then. Then I figured out I could charge the same fee by just renting the equipment to them They loved this because every family has someone who is a wannabe DJ. I loved it because I didn’t have to be at yet another lame party.
-
There are Musicians and there are DJ's. It's always been that way. In the 80\s- 90's those bastards stole all our gigs.... now they are taking control of our recording software...grump ,,, grump...

Importing 100 wave files on a timeline one after another
John Vere replied to Elena Kolpakova's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Interesting idea but alas there would be a tinny pause between each clip. -
It’s one of the quirky things about Cakewalk. They make new dialogue boxes and leave the old ones active. There are now 2 dialogue boxes for inserting instruments. They both do more or less the same thing. Not only that each has more than one way to open it. Things like that have got to cause issues down the line.

Nothing has changed since the days of analog mixers. You had to figure these things out and it wasn’t a big deal to press more than one solo button. That’s why you were called an engineer. It sort of implied that you were educated and new your way around the millions of controls and cables. So that said there’s always a bad idea workaround. create a new buss and send the reverb and the other buss there. There’s probably a dozen other ways using aux busses and what not

What is important to understand is volume is a different aspect than velocity. Velocity on a lot of instruments changes the timber. It is the midi way of trying to emulate how hard you hit, pluck or blow an instrument. So for most instruments this is important and depending on how elaborate the samples are will be a part of the performance. The piano is the best example. But an Organ doesn’t have velocity. It’s keys are just on off switches. So it is about the only instrument I would need to eliminate velocity for. But that said you could include velocity in this case to control volume. Velocity is important and it’s good to purchase a keyboard that feels and responds to your playing so you can maintain more control of the quality of your performance if the music you make is traditional.
-
For me this is a function I can set in my Roland keyboard controller. They make it built in for live performance reasons. You activate the function and pull the slider down until you get what you needed. Pulling it all the way down your “piano” feel becomes an “ organ” feel. The recording velocity will be 64 no matter how soft or hard you play

Importing 100 wave files on a timeline one after another
John Vere replied to Elena Kolpakova's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
If they show in the audio folder in an easily recognizable order then I would just drag and drop them from the browser. Dragging them from the track pane would be crazy if there is actually 100 tracks. -
File/ close should only close the project I just tried and it works for me on 175 To close a project try clicking the x in the upper right of the workspace 1- Closes Cakewalk 2- Closes project

Go to the tutorials sub forum I just posted a new video that shows you how to set up your midi tracks And you probably have a midi loop back so disable all midi device outputs in preferences

You had my curiosity. I first duplicated a few vocal tracks and played them side by side watching the peak meters and I found no difference. I also saved the track as a template, inserted it and copied the audio into it and it stayed the same as well. I only have a Compressor in the pro channel so possibly your issue is what @scook said. It's an effect your using on the track randomizing the playback levels. A solution might be to put your vocal effects in a Vocal Buss and keep the tracks simple. I generally work this way. I only use the PC compressor and EQ on tracks. That way as I re record new parts they are all going to get the same processing down the line. You can see there is nothing in my FX bin. You can see the 3 vocal tracks after playing about a minute all show -5.2. Track 12 is the original, 13 is a duplicate and 14 is a track template and copy.

How do I get classic General MIDI synth sounds?
John Vere replied to Dave G's topic in Instruments & Effects
Roland sort of always used the GM system from day 1. I started my sequencing days on a Roland 505 drum machine. Those patterns still work using the TTS-1 Both my MT 32 and My GR 50 drums were close to the same. I know this because I still have and use the MIDI files I made back then. Drums were CH 10 on both by default just like GM. I changed the GR 50 to use CH 11 for drums and CH 12 was piano. The GR 50 sounded way better but I had to be careful because the notes would cut out when I used the guitar synth. The MT 32 was marginally better than the 505 but that was only because of the reverb. And that was a big reason for using Jeff's MT 32 editor was to tweak the reverb I played in a Duo and my partner had a Yamaha FB01. It was totally different so we had to drag 2 Atari computers around. My midi files wouldn't play on his and visa /versa. Later I bought a Korg 05/RW ( still use it) and it had a GM mode but I didn't use it because the GM bank didn't sound as good as the other modes did.. It played my drum files just fine but I had to edit all the other patches. Those are still in all my midi files which are the ones I've posted for people to use on my web site . ( see my signature) -

My latest video explains exactly how to set up Cakewalk with your interface. Make sure your preference settings match those in the video and I also show you how to arm the track to record.
-
The problem with cakewalk is there is always 10 ways to do the same things. While making the tutorials I found 6 ways to insert a VST instrument and there are now 2 dialogue boxes that do “ almost “ the same things. I doubt any other DAW has more than one way.
-
I’m just finishing a video that shows this. What they’re saying is don’t use a Simple instrument track Use a split instrument track. Cakewalks terminology is confusing. A simple instrument track records midi in the track it’s the one with a keyboard ? An instrument track is the one with a keyboard and a midi jack icon. That will record the synth as audio. Drag and drop the synth from the browser , or use the synth rack, or use the insert synth and in the dialogue only choose single synth output.

No Audio With Steinberg UR22 MkII Audio Interface
John Vere replied to Jman Stan's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Yes I was referring to that setting. You basically want all settings to show as your audio interface and nothing else.
