  1. Actually I’m thinking? Did you set Cakewalk in ASIO mode? Check the device is showing in all the preferences audio settings
  2. Everyone has a different system. And it also depends on if your computer has a second hard drive. standard practice is to let the installer use its default location for the software and dll but put libraries and samples on the second or 3rd drives. A lot of the free VST’s just have a .dll you simply copy to your VST folder. Best to use as few locations as possible. I have only 4 locations. I have the default Cakewalk VST folder and then the default VST3 folder. Then a Steinberg VST folder that their programs created. Then there is my main folder called VST that I put all 3rd party VST 2’s in. The VST 3’s goes to the default. There are also 32 bit folder locations but I removed those from Cakewalks scan pathways and if given a choice don’t install them. Which is another point. If an installer has a bunch of type options I only choose VST 64. If there’s a VST and VST 3 I only install VST 3.
  3. So this is latest mix now with the effects and a few minor ajustments. See OP top post for version. Here's the latest tutorial on the project.
  4. Yes I notice that as well but was thinking it due to me always leaving the box unchecked in the Insert Soft synth options. I just opened a blank project and while inserting AD2 the check box is Greyed out so this conferms that Midi output is not an option for AD2. It's weird Richard would end up with double notes unless that something that can happen if you use Comping mode. I never use that I always use overwrite. But good Idea to look in Event list. There is a UN DUPE CAL script found under Process. But if it's an entire lane then that would work best to just delete it.
  5. Seems instead of the pitch bend you should simply transpose the part by +1 - N opens transpose dialogue. It's common to modulate in the middle of a song or for the last chorus. I would do this in Track view so I can highlight the timeline of the section for all the midi tracks minus the drums. If you want a slide into the key change then only draw it in the measure where this happens.
  6. Here's screenshots of where you find the MIdi output toggles. Also temporarily if you turn off input echo for the Midi track I think it stops the loop. The dragging issue is make sure the tool shows as the move tool, not the pencil. But this sound more like the loop to me if you are hearing a delayed sound. For the double note you would see a goast of it after the original.
  7. So this is Midi data Sounds like double notes or a feedback loop. The feedback loop is easy Turn off Midi output for the synth. This is found in the synth properties. To see if there’s double note open in PVR and drag any note up or down to see if there’s a note hidden underneath
  8. The Behringer umc22 is your audio interface, the DAW is Cakewalk. I will assume the Microphone only has a 1/4" jack. That should be connected to say input 1 of the interface. You adjust the Gain control until the CLIP light comes on when talking or singing loudly and back it off a little bit. The meter in Cakewalk will verify your signal level and this should be between - 18db and -6 db. I cover audio set up in this video. https://youtu.be/iNPqNyoX4iU I cover setting up audio interfaces in this one https://youtu.be/P2pnDOC7HEk

Yes within a few seconds I noticed the whole song was sort of lurching along. I think it might be the rhythm guitar though. As your drums you would have quantized? Otherwise good work.
  10. Thinking about your challenge my approx would be to clean it up first using Sound Forge or any Wave editor that has the tools to do clean up. Then save that version. Then perform the next step and save that. Then perform the last step. You can use a wave editor for all your steps but whatever works best is what I do. That’s why I have 4 Wave editors! Each one seems to do certain things better. Wave Lab- $100 Sound Forge free ( comes with Sony turntables or Movie software) Audacity - free Gold Wave- free to try full version or $60 lifetime license
  11. The folder is most likely still where it was. Just find it and copy it to the other drive. No need to use links. The in preferences change your project folder location to the new drive. And make sure to copy that folder to a few back up drives.
  12. Actually what does the meter show for peak level on playback of that track? It looks like it is recorded at too low a level. Peak level should be more like - 18 db to - 06 db. You can fix this using the Normalize I cover that in this tutorial
  13. Sounds like a good system. I haven’t had clients around since the pandemic started so I repurposed stuff. But in the past I always used output 3/4 from the interface into a stereo channel of a small Mackie mixer. Then my Joe meek pre amp for vocals has 2 outputs so one of those went to the mixer as well. The mx200 was used in the effects send / return loop so the little mixer was my cue mix. But I thought I’d try it on a few pre recorded tracks a while ago so it’s now set up directly to my interface. Too bad the USB driver was never updated.
  14. Deleted post old version _ Note deleted all previous versions so now see top post for latest version
  15. What is the sound you’re after? Possibly someone here can direct you to a free VST that produces the same sound. Sort of why nobody uses Sound fonts anymore they were kinda lame like the sounds in the TTS-1
  16. Sounds like your snap settings.
  17. You don’t need input echo on. You are correct it is only for passing input signal to output of audio tracks. Sorry I don’t have an answer other than saying you seem to have done all the right things following about the same steps I take.

    Clusters?

Open the virtual keyboard set it to the QWERTY keyboard and sit on your computer keyboard. Or get your cat to play it. The notation view would be my last choice. PVR my first. Sitting on the keyboard second.
  19. I doubt if the x32 can be told to record in other formats. @Patrick Azzarello I see that explains a lot. I too use backing tracks so totally understand, and especially the part about having better things to do at gigs than fuss with technology. My live recording set up was extra work but I basically set it up and tried to remember it was there as the night progressed. As a result the levels are all over the map but the goal was just recording to see how we sound and what needs improvement. The band broke up 3 years ago so now these tracks are all that remains.
  20. Agreed. I have a Signature 10 with just the 2 channel USB audio and the driver is on par with any of my other interfaces. I bought it for playback as I use a laptop for backing tracks but I tried it with Cakewalk and it was working perfectly fine.
  21. True enough. But if there’s midi latency involved it’s something we have dealt with since the beginning of midi and hooking up midi devices. Boy could you notice it if you dare to daisy chain sound modules together using the Midi thru ports. I immediately purchased a midi patch bay. Roland A880. This was in the 80’s. And as I remember Atari had rock solid Midi timing compared to a PC back then. Probably Apple did too. If all you are doing is working ITB with VST instruments then Midi latency is not a factor. Even if you’re input is from a controller Quantize will make things perfect. But one needs to be aware of latency especially when using hardware synths.
