  1. Great job, only comment would be the hard panned guitars I would bring them more to the centre. I also am fan of those 60’s organs I use the free Combo Model F and V As I was typing your other songs have also played really good stuff big thumbs up from me

This sounds overall real good to me. Only criticism ,if you don’t mind, is both the beginning and end. The beginning sounds like something got chopped off before the first note. The end the bass is leaking after the last note. And the riff is not interesting enough to have it repeat that many times. Either shorten it or add some ear candy.
  3. You are off to a very good start. Here’s my input for what it’s worth For vocals I always split into short clips and slip edit the silent part out. Then it’s easy to work with these in Melodyne. The bass sounds very muddy. If you haven’t tried it yet , try Ample P bass lite. It sits in a mix with out any processing for me. For other things takes to long to explain in detail but I made a whole series of tutorials that covers all that. They take a song from start to finish in cakewalk that if you’re a newbie it’s was made just for you. It starts with 201 and there are 10 in a row. just pay attention at the end for link to next video. It’s titled original song but it can apply to cover songs as well. Only difference is I usually start cover songs with drums or a midi file if I can find the song https://youtu.be/oOJgZG0UhFM
  4. Great job but ya, even though the hard panning was part of that era it was quickly scraped for good reasons. Something about the bass notes in the intro? Ending cuts off too. But totally enjoyed this as I’m a huge fan of 12 string electric. Was it a Ricky?
  5. Just a hair. I was first listening on my iPhone speakers and that’s where I proof mixes. Even though the phone sounds like crap, You’ll find commercial releases are balanced so if I get my songs balanced on my phone I know I got it right. I most certainly don’t use that for other aspects of a mix, just the balance. On my headphones your song sounds excellent. The vocals sound just fine, but this is the mission for me, my mix needs to work on all systems. I’m remixing all my old stuff right now and as always learning new things. Im watching videos by this guy and learning a lot, he uses FL Studio but most of the tips apply to any DAW. Look for the ones on Mixing, Mastering and calibrating your speakers
  6. There’s lots of reasons to export tracks. Im doing a lot of this these day to convert from 44.1 to 48. The other use I have for this is to use Audio snap you need fresh tracks that are continuous from start to end. This video shows how I use the export dialogue to convert tracks.
  7. This video covers this topic see if it helps
  8. When I use it I simply extract the Midi data and then remove the regional effect from the track. I can then either keep the original audio track or delete it and just use the midi data which is what I always do. So there’s no need to have any regional effect activity in projects.

    demo mix

Sounds good but intro way to long had to skip over it.
  10. I guess I missed the first mix and as said this is super close to perfect. I would push the vocals to the front just a hair more. Can’t understand lyrics on the lower notes. Good tune well done ??
  11. This is what it looks like when I want to export tracks as stereo stems that have been processed by effects and master bus. I choose “Tracks” if I just want to grab the raw audio. Your screen shot doesn't have half the dialogue boxes open so hard to tell what settings you are using. The important part is to always check the project length as this can cause a slow export if Cakewalk thinks the song is 2 hours long. This took about 30 seconds to export. I often export un processed stems as I'm in the process of converting old 44.1 projects into 48.
  12. In this video I cover all the ducks that need to be in a row. Including what scook said above which is probably what’s happening.
  13. The Op said it is vocal track so that is monophonic. But like I said some material will sort of crash Melodyne and you sometimes have to try different settings.
  14. Wow boss, hate to argue but-- This is actually not true at all. I have a Laptop with a different registration for Cakewalk and it does not have a Melodyne Licence. If you try to open the editor I will tell you you need to purchase a licence. Audio to Midi and Tempo exctraction works perfectly fine on that machine. The only difference is you get a different dialogue box that does not have the options listed. The OP's Video showed they got the options dialogue so that would tell me they either have a paid version or their demo hasn't expired yet. A while back I had a Copy of Home Studio on a different laptop and no melodyne licence there either. Audio to midi worked then as well. I must have converted 100 Bass tracks to Midi on that machine.
  15. @Cezary You should always start new thread for help. The track you are dragging the audio to doesn’t look like a midi track. You must have changed the icon so hard to tell. But I will assume it is a Simple Instrument Track which should work if it is. I do see Omni as input. anyway looks like the processing goes way to fast so it failed. Sometimes Melodyne doesn’t like the material. If that is say a heavy distorted guitar it won’t work Melodyne needs clean tracks.
  16. If the export file is blank then I would guess you forgot to select something in the dialogue to complete the process properly. A common cause is if you use the Range function and it’s wrong. Are you using a preset?
  17. Obviously these are midi tracks right? You can simply copy midi tracks by inserting a instrument track and drag the midi data there holding CTRL. If you want an audio track created just freeze the synth and do the same move to a new audio track. But that said something else is wrong because bouncing tracks using the export dialogue should take under a minute for 18 tracks. Unless they have certain effects on them that require a lot of processing then it might take a little bit longer but nothing in Cakewalk takes 20 minutes to process
  18. Not all synths respond to pitch bend. In real life an electric piano wouldn’t work that way. And do you mean the SI Piano?
  19. Won't it be better to find a sample that is what you want? There must be a zillion samples available most are free. Just google the name of what you want. I'm assuming you just want a subsonic note, Most synths have these built in. Lot's of free analog synths too. Try here for starters. https://plugins4free.com/
  20. You should change your title to reflect the situation>" Does Cakewalk run on a Mac under Bootcamp? " Edit: Good man, I see you did this. ( for those who are wondering what the heck I'm talking about the original title was about dropouts) You might get the attention of someone who has tried this. Your title is typical of On Board audio users or people who have not set up the computer for audio as in not using ASIO drivers, optimizing etc.
  21. The whole powering the studio topic has me thinking I need to redo mine because it’s still set up for when I used the Scarlett which has a power supply and not buss powered. I have a Furman line conditioner first in line. That shuts whole studio down. I only shut this down by totally unplugging it during thunderstorms and if I’m going away. This habit has saved my studio more than once. From there are 5 power bars spread along the back of the desk and one to the floor for my guitar and bass amps and a sub. My Interfaces ( before) , the monitor power amp and Computer are on the only one I turn off at night. The one on the floor I can’t reach so the sub is in standby mode. It automatically turns on when it detects a signal. The amps have easy to reach switch’s. But I often forget to turn my Blackstar off which would not be good if it were tubes but it’s not. There’s one power bar for my hardware synths and effects that’s mostly turned off. The Scarlett never needed to be powered off separate from the monitor amp. I would just shut the computer down and then kill the power bar.But because the Motu is bus powered it makes a noticeable pop, sometimes a couple of times , in the monitors when the computer is booting up and shutting down. Even with the main volume off on the Motu. I have to remember to turn the monitor amp off first. I think I got rid of the second pops when I switched to 48 for everything. It would pop when you opened any music related software or even-the browser. I still open old 44.1 projects and get that dang pop every time.
  22. Well I think that statement could be sort of incorrect. At least it’s contrary to what I have always believed. If you look at my screen shot you will see it shows only my 1/2 as output. This is the same for my Tascam and Motu interfaces. It does not imply that it is using the 3/4 outputs at all? Seems to me if it was it would be showing those as well. I’d expect a second or 3rd check box? I have never in probably over 1,000 exports using “Entire Mix” and possibly 6 different interfaces with most having 4 outputs, had an export mix sound any different than what I was getting in Cakewalk. Is this just dumb luck? If there’s a difference it was always because a track or bus was not routed to the master . The statement above is even contradictory to the signal flow diagram that they post. It clearly shows the Master going to the chosen Hardware pair. We have be told that your audio interface has nothing to do with the export. It is directly from Cakewalk to your hard drive. So I will continue to assume that means from the Master buss only. And once again if you mute the Master it will cure any doubt of what is being exported. If by headphones you mean you make a headphones bus and send it directly to your 1/2 hardware outs then that to me was user error.
  23. I’m not to sure you understand that, as said, If you open Cakewalk with your on board audio active then Cakewalk will be forced to not only figure out what to assign input and output to, it also has to switch to WASAPI mode. This is just like kicking a sleeping dog in the software world. How on earth would you expect it to do nothing and Waite for you to turn on your interface? It’s called hardware and it needs care and feeding just like a dog. Choices: 1: leave your interface on. It uses very little power. 2. Use an interface that runs on bus power. It will behave like your good ol’ PCI card 3. put studio on a power bar that turns everything on an off ( recommendation by me) 4. Try to remember to turn it on before you open Cakewalk ( set up for failure )
