  1. Yes Gold Wave is one of those handy dandy apps I’ve use for a long time. I think I paid $49 for a lifetime license. I have it on all my computers including my wife s laptop as she uses it to record webinars. Big red button is easy to understand. I worked a lot with client recording projects that are “albums “. Sometimes 20 songs. I have developed a very efficient workflow for this and using software that does something “better “ makes life easy. Recording and mixing of course is Cakewalk, export as a 48 or 44.1 wave. I fine tune, top and tail in Wave Lab. Then if I need MP3 files I use Gold Wave batch converter. I also use it to batch convert the 48hz to44.1 hz if I needed a CD burn. @Billy86Nope. Damage was already done.
  2. I have a whole series here and there’s lots of other tutorials as well These two for sure you need to watch
  3. Yes That will work but a faster way would be to use a wave editor like Gold Wave which can batch convert everything at once. Gold Wave is free to use fully functional with a nag screen to purchase. http://www.goldwave.ca
  4. You do realize if you accidentally delete something you use undo to bring it back. it’s obviously dangerous to use Ctrl A which is select all. It you want to highlight all the data in a track, click on the track number.
  5. But hold on folks. I do believe all the original audio files will still be in the audio folder for the project? The OP did say it was mostly audio. Until you use “Save As” a project keeps the audio. Open the Browser, under files, there’s a short cut dialogue box look for project audio folder. Open it and then drag the audio back to the project. It will be a lot of work if there’s a lot of clips and if you were using comping but everything should still be there
  6. You should see if a Wave editor will do this. I know Gold Wave does batch conversions for file formats. I can do 100 songs with one mouse click. Most wave editors have pitch adjust without tempo change. And that’s a small amount of change so with the right rendering should not create noticeable artifacts. Use the highest quality rendering offered.
  7. The op made it clear that tempo was not an option. They are looking for exactly that result but only on a short clip. It’s a challenge but I still think I could do it manually using a small enough grid Thinking you would just go from a half note to a quarter to an eighth and so on.
  8. Just stumbled across this thread, Thanks once again Steve, this solves a few issues I had when I attempted to make my own. Finally a white background for PVR. The soft green is easy on the eyes too.
  9. Not mentioned here is how I work with any guitar tracks, electric or acoustic. I often will use 2 tracks recorded simultaneously. I then use Take lanes to replay parts I wasn’t happy with. I always use Overwrite mode. I think that’s the trick. Otherwise the behaviour of editing seems weird to me because there’s always something hidden underneath the new recording. Anyway I might end up with 3 lanes and it’s pretty easy to use them to create one good take. Not that hard to treat both tracks the same. Might not be sample accurate but ? I like to record my Acoustic with one condenser and it’s LRBaggs PU. I don’t hard pan them I blend the sound and use effects to achieve stereo. I only hard pan if I play the part twice. The 2 condenser mike method never worked for me. You solo the tracks and one would simply sound worse than the other! Why would I want that?
  10. I would have set PVR grid on 64 th notes and drawn it in. Would take 10 minutes. Ya sometimes the word work might come up but I’ll assume you’re a lot younger than me so it’s not part of the vocabulary ?
  11. There’s always more than one way to do the same thing in Cakewalk. That’s why it’s so easy to learn ?
  12. Shift B. Hide show buss pane. This series walks you through everything you need to know to learn how Cakewalk works.
  13. Wow! in the 20 years I’ve used Cakewalk I never even noticed that it made a difference where you click in a dialogue box. I just learned something that will make zero difference as I probably just keep clicking randomly at stuff until it opens ?
  14. Tried to tell them that but they didn’t seem to believe me. Cakewalk works with 32 bit by default. So if you choose 32 bit why would you want dithering ? And if you choose 64 why would you need dithering? If you reduce to 24 or 16 then you might want to dither. personal choice. It might help if you take a few minutes to look up what dithering is for then you might understand why our answers are as such.
  15. It’s doing this to protect you from your self?. Dithering is only needed for reducing the depth not increasing
  16. Not just that. There’s very little activity here as compared to the Computer sub forum on the old Cakewalk forum. I guess W10 made life too easy. We even had a couple of top shelf DAW builders participating back then.
  17. It’s all about custom workspace but in the video about the control bar I explain how to easily resize modules so the stay put.
  18. To elaborate on what @scookhas said, insert as many Midi tracks or simple instrument tracks, as you want and assign the input to your controller. Then apply a different midi filter to each track so only the data you want is recorded to each track. Or you can now play your controller as a split keyboard live.
  19. Watch this video and check that you’re doing things correctly.
  20. Boy is this sub forum ever a nether land.
  21. Stretching audio too much can cause artifacts like that. I’m no expert on using loops but I think that’s where the answer might be. How to stretch a loop in Cakewalk Try Google
  22. Only thing comes to mind is the plug in scanner Try setting it to manually scan that will take it out of the startup
