  1. I guess I missed the first mix and as said this is super close to perfect. I would push the vocals to the front just a hair more. Can’t understand lyrics on the lower notes. Good tune well done ??
  2. This is what it looks like when I want to export tracks as stereo stems that have been processed by effects and master bus. I choose “Tracks” if I just want to grab the raw audio. Your screen shot doesn't have half the dialogue boxes open so hard to tell what settings you are using. The important part is to always check the project length as this can cause a slow export if Cakewalk thinks the song is 2 hours long. This took about 30 seconds to export. I often export un processed stems as I'm in the process of converting old 44.1 projects into 48.
  3. In this video I cover all the ducks that need to be in a row. Including what scook said above which is probably what’s happening.
  4. The Op said it is vocal track so that is monophonic. But like I said some material will sort of crash Melodyne and you sometimes have to try different settings.
  5. Wow boss, hate to argue but-- This is actually not true at all. I have a Laptop with a different registration for Cakewalk and it does not have a Melodyne Licence. If you try to open the editor I will tell you you need to purchase a licence. Audio to Midi and Tempo exctraction works perfectly fine on that machine. The only difference is you get a different dialogue box that does not have the options listed. The OP's Video showed they got the options dialogue so that would tell me they either have a paid version or their demo hasn't expired yet. A while back I had a Copy of Home Studio on a different laptop and no melodyne licence there either. Audio to midi worked then as well. I must have converted 100 Bass tracks to Midi on that machine.
  6. @Cezary You should always start new thread for help. The track you are dragging the audio to doesn’t look like a midi track. You must have changed the icon so hard to tell. But I will assume it is a Simple Instrument Track which should work if it is. I do see Omni as input. anyway looks like the processing goes way to fast so it failed. Sometimes Melodyne doesn’t like the material. If that is say a heavy distorted guitar it won’t work Melodyne needs clean tracks.
  7. If the export file is blank then I would guess you forgot to select something in the dialogue to complete the process properly. A common cause is if you use the Range function and it’s wrong. Are you using a preset?
  8. Obviously these are midi tracks right? You can simply copy midi tracks by inserting a instrument track and drag the midi data there holding CTRL. If you want an audio track created just freeze the synth and do the same move to a new audio track. But that said something else is wrong because bouncing tracks using the export dialogue should take under a minute for 18 tracks. Unless they have certain effects on them that require a lot of processing then it might take a little bit longer but nothing in Cakewalk takes 20 minutes to process
  9. Not all synths respond to pitch bend. In real life an electric piano wouldn’t work that way. And do you mean the SI Piano?
  10. Won't it be better to find a sample that is what you want? There must be a zillion samples available most are free. Just google the name of what you want. I'm assuming you just want a subsonic note, Most synths have these built in. Lot's of free analog synths too. Try here for starters. https://plugins4free.com/
  11. You should change your title to reflect the situation>" Does Cakewalk run on a Mac under Bootcamp? " Edit: Good man, I see you did this. ( for those who are wondering what the heck I'm talking about the original title was about dropouts) You might get the attention of someone who has tried this. Your title is typical of On Board audio users or people who have not set up the computer for audio as in not using ASIO drivers, optimizing etc.
  12. The whole powering the studio topic has me thinking I need to redo mine because it’s still set up for when I used the Scarlett which has a power supply and not buss powered. I have a Furman line conditioner first in line. That shuts whole studio down. I only shut this down by totally unplugging it during thunderstorms and if I’m going away. This habit has saved my studio more than once. From there are 5 power bars spread along the back of the desk and one to the floor for my guitar and bass amps and a sub. My Interfaces ( before) , the monitor power amp and Computer are on the only one I turn off at night. The one on the floor I can’t reach so the sub is in standby mode. It automatically turns on when it detects a signal. The amps have easy to reach switch’s. But I often forget to turn my Blackstar off which would not be good if it were tubes but it’s not. There’s one power bar for my hardware synths and effects that’s mostly turned off. The Scarlett never needed to be powered off separate from the monitor amp. I would just shut the computer down and then kill the power bar.But because the Motu is bus powered it makes a noticeable pop, sometimes a couple of times , in the monitors when the computer is booting up and shutting down. Even with the main volume off on the Motu. I have to remember to turn the monitor amp off first. I think I got rid of the second pops when I switched to 48 for everything. It would pop when you opened any music related software or even-the browser. I still open old 44.1 projects and get that dang pop every time.
  13. Well I think that statement could be sort of incorrect. At least it’s contrary to what I have always believed. If you look at my screen shot you will see it shows only my 1/2 as output. This is the same for my Tascam and Motu interfaces. It does not imply that it is using the 3/4 outputs at all? Seems to me if it was it would be showing those as well. I’d expect a second or 3rd check box? I have never in probably over 1,000 exports using “Entire Mix” and possibly 6 different interfaces with most having 4 outputs, had an export mix sound any different than what I was getting in Cakewalk. Is this just dumb luck? If there’s a difference it was always because a track or bus was not routed to the master . The statement above is even contradictory to the signal flow diagram that they post. It clearly shows the Master going to the chosen Hardware pair. We have be told that your audio interface has nothing to do with the export. It is directly from Cakewalk to your hard drive. So I will continue to assume that means from the Master buss only. And once again if you mute the Master it will cure any doubt of what is being exported. If by headphones you mean you make a headphones bus and send it directly to your 1/2 hardware outs then that to me was user error.
  14. I’m not to sure you understand that, as said, If you open Cakewalk with your on board audio active then Cakewalk will be forced to not only figure out what to assign input and output to, it also has to switch to WASAPI mode. This is just like kicking a sleeping dog in the software world. How on earth would you expect it to do nothing and Waite for you to turn on your interface? It’s called hardware and it needs care and feeding just like a dog. Choices: 1: leave your interface on. It uses very little power. 2. Use an interface that runs on bus power. It will behave like your good ol’ PCI card 3. put studio on a power bar that turns everything on an off ( recommendation by me) 4. Try to remember to turn it on before you open Cakewalk ( set up for failure )
  15. Good advice but my guess it's very few people would have that set up happening, and if they did they would be probably be someone who either totally understands signal paths. . or their audio interface uses a software mixer that they have not figured out yet. But generally speaking huge majority of people only have the Master bus feeding outputs 1/2 of the interface. Most people using Cakewalk now are reported to be using on board audio these days. My method for Cue mixes is to use Outputs 3/4 of my interface. Outputs 1/2 are to the Studio Monitors and interfaces Headphones. AND my advice and something I've repeated a million times is " Always mute your master bus with the song playing to check if anything is bypassing it and going directly to your Hardware outs" This eliminates any weirdness in your export when using Entire mix and Hardware as the source.
  16. I demonstrate proper use of the export dialogue in the end of this video
  17. You only use TRACKS or BUSES when you want stems. You use Entire mix to export "what you hear" from your project. In Gregs screenshot the export will result in the other buses actually bypassing the Master and you get 5 stereo stems. The Audio interface should ultimately be the source. I use Entire Mix CD for CD's and Entire Mix MP3 for MP3 for proofing mixes. This setting in the screen shot I will change the sample rate to 48 and Bit Depth to 32 for final mastering.
  18. So what you are saying is your input is muted until the recording started? That’s telling me you’re not using the direct monitoring system of your interface.
  19. I know exactly what you’re trying to do and Cakewalk could do this if you’re an advanced user and with a lot of fuss. It’s up to you. My first move would be if you can do this with your DJ software, then use it! Then record your set into Audacity. You could even edit mistakes there. You could even use Audacity for the whole thing but just like Cakewalk you will need to dig deeper into advanced features. Use the software that works and was designed for the task. It’s only fault is it might not have a “Export set” function. Possibly there is a DJ program that does this you can look into if your doing this for money it will be worth the investment. Ask the question on a DJ forum.
  20. Seems all you need to do is drag each song into cakewalk and drag them so the end of one overlaps and will automatically cross fades with the start of the next.
  21. This forum needs a thread time out that automatically locks threads after at least a year. 6 months would be even better. I end up reading these with out checking the date. Big waste of time and frustrating. If there something in an old thread you wanted then you can simply post the link to the original thread in your OP. Just like if you post links to the old forum.
  22. I have Dim Pro on a lot of projects. I love the Acoustic Bass and I also use lots of those weird things you find when digging around for ideas. I’ve never had any problem installing it using CCC.
  23. I’m curious. Did you happen to watch my series? If the tutorials I made didn’t answer your questions then I would like to know so I can improve on them. Seriously. My Channel is in my signature but they are all listed in the tutorials sub forum near the top.
  24. They probably like a majority of users have never seen this forum. Seems more people using Facebook and other social media type sites than user forums now. It's a bit of a shame because the help you get on facebook is not the same quality as you will get here. On one post I read about 25 real bad answers to the persons issue. No wonder so many new users end up all screwed up. But that said I post my videos to about 4 different Facebook Cakewalk groups and that is where my view count comes fromm, not from here. I only post here because I'm a die hard fan of our forum and I find it's much easier to post a video than type out 6 paragrphs of what was probably already written in the documentation, right! . So I can see why people who make Cakewalk tutorials might not bother posting here. No traffic. A critique of the videos- The first with the lady was of the type that drives me bonkers. Takes 15 minutes to teach a 3 minute lesson because they are trying too hard to be interesting people and not teachers. I liked the second guy he was to the point more or less.
