Far as I can tell those knobs only work with the TTS-1. I’ve never had any other synth respond to them. So myself I prefer to just make settings inside the synth properties GUI. I see no difference in convenience. Maybe this is different for huge orchestra type projects were opening GUIs might be cluttered but seems easy enough if all you use is a handful of synths.
  2. Bluetooth has around 40 ms of latency and is therefore a useless format for professional audio production
  3. If the plug in uses an installer then best to use that to set any pathways. Moving a .dll of certain plug ins can disconnect them.
  4. Over time users have come up with best practices 1. work with short clips 2. always Render each clip as you work. 3. Save the project right away. 4. Melodyne is a destructive editing tool so best to have a safety copy of the original. There’s no reason not to render before moving on. You can always re apply the regional effect to the clip later. See video #27

    No Sound

I don’t think your using the ASIO driver the first tutorial in this series will get you sound
  6. In my tutorials I always recommend people go to the support page for whatever gear they bought. Every interface is different. Most have very clear instructions on set up and use. Focusrite not only has great tutorials they have over $300 worth of free goodies.

    Full Installer request

Without quoting or tagging the OP will never see your post or questions. Obviously they took @Promidi advice and contacted support. This is a user forum and the Staff do not read all the posts.
  8. Storage has become huge and Inexpensive. I see no reason not to use it. At any given point in time I might have 20 copies of the same audio inside different back up folders and versions of certain projects. I never even come close to using half my storage space. I wish I could say the same about my Basement!

You need to start your own thread. And give as much details as possible you question can’t be answered because we have no clue of what you are using or doing others than 20 years old software is involved.
  10. I keep forgetting about that silly tiny little tab. I fixed my post to correct the error

    Bouncing problem

Use the preset For the format you desire There’s one called Entire mix MP3 as example. I cover Export in a lot of my videos I think for sure in any that say mastering
  12. If while playing the Cakewalk project the Master bus shows equal levels in both left and right meters then it is not a Cakewalk issue. Unless you have a phase issue. This would imply that the lower level is After the master buss. After the master bus is your hardware. It seems your interface has a software mixer so that will be next in the signal chain after Cakewalks Master bus. I would be looking for your problem there. Not sure why playing the project triggers the issue. But the master bus meter doesn’t lie. Unless you’re playing tracks with phase issues. Use a Corralation meter to check phase. Span has one built in and from the same company Voxengo there’s the Correlometer my favourite
  13. Insert the instrument as a split instrument track and you can insert the midi filter on the associated midi track. Or see @scook post below on how to access the midi track strip of an instrument track.
  14. ?? So you have 20 songs all have tracks called Guitar 1 or Vocal 2 all with multiple re takes etc. and now they are all jumbled into one big huge folder? How would you find a certain track from a particular song? It's hard enough trying to find audio tracks in a per project folder. How do you back up your projects? Do you use "save as" with copy all audio checked? By using per project folders back up of a complete project is as simple as copying that folder to a back up location.
  15. My Daughter has a workshop on rural property that she put an office in. It was too far away from the house for Wi Fi. My son had a solution which was a gizmo from Amazon that you plugged into a wall socket near the internet in the house and then you plug the re transmitter part out in the shop. Worked brilliantly. There's both Wi Fi and ethernet versions. The ethernet version is like $50. The Wi Fi is about $80. It goes without saying that the shop has to share the Mains panel and Neutral bonding. Can't have it's own meter.
  16. Yes they are world famous for their lack of bass but after using them for 3 decades this works to my advantage. If I don’t hear the notes of the bass or the attack of the kick then this usually translates on to the majority of playback systems as correct information. Speakers with lots of bass might fool you into thinking you have the correct amount of bass in your mix. I have a sub woofer I can turn on to check my low end for artifacts. So to me that dip at 500 is what I am hearing as that’s exactly the focal point of bass and kick It will probably involve EQ of the two instruments to give each its own frequencies. I sometimes will try a different kick sample.
  17. What does your master bus meter show? What do the sub bus meters show? What do the track meters show? If the master buss meter is showing steady balanced level then this is a hardware issue. If it isn’t, then work your way backwards through the signal chain until you find the instrument, effect or audio track causing the issue.
  18. I’ve done lots of these. I will simply use the split function ( select all “S” ) and delete all but the song I want. Then use Save as to rename and save the song. Hit undo to return to whole project and repeat the process for each song. You can use mix recall to apply global effects to each project because it works great when each project is identical
  19. This is an option but it takes way to much time from my perspective. I post a lot of screen shots here and I’ve only once had to go in and delete stuff because I reached my limit. It was mostly due to GIF,s and a few MP3 files. Pictures are small files. I just go to the earliest files and delete them all. Not my problem if there gone. That first time I removed probably 200 images from the forum here. Never had one person noticing they were gone. Same thing will happen with You Tube links. I often have pulled videos and updated the content and reposted. So from now on I’m just linking my thread in the tutorial sub forum and referring to the list. That makes it future proof
  20. Most ambient effects have a wet and dry setting.
  21. The video #11 has clear instructions on how to properly set up to record audio in Cakewalk
  22. I am totally aware of the many reasons a DAW should be off line. I often unplug my Cable when I’m at the mixing stage and want every last bit of processing power without interruption. In my last home we had satellite internet which cost you dearly for bandwidth so I dreaded updating software and would go as long as possible before plugging back in and updating. I would often take it to my computer tech Sister-in-laws and do it there for free. Needless to say I was not happy with Cakewalks new 6 month activation requirement. But I sort of see where they are coming from and it’s a small price to pay for free software. Its the way of the modern world and nobody seems overly concerned about the few people who don’t have good internet access where they live. It is assumed we are always connected 24/7 So still the best solution for Cakewalk as well as a few other Apps I depend on, is at least once a month connect and update stuff it only takes a few minutes . If I still lived in my other house this would just be more of a hassle. In one place in my house there’s no LAN cables so when I was using that space I did the same as @hockeyjx
  23. I’m not sure why you would want to save to a global folder? That’s a good way to have the project disconnect from its data. . Per project folders are the best way to keep all relevant data connected to the project. It also makes It easy to back them up to a different drive.
  24. The thing is Thousands of people use Cakewalk and have absolutely no issues with keeping it up to date and running. Those who do are seemingly trying to circumnavigate the system.
  25. Addictive keys demo is free and doesn’t expire. Only limitation is it’s missing the highest and lowest octaves. But it’s a pretty good sounding piano for free.
