  1. Yes. Open the track pane on the right and then from views select show audio tracks. You can now solo or mute any track in the project.
  2. I'm not sure what you are after? Bypass is essentially just that, an on/ off switch. This is why plug ins don't have on/ off switches, they would be redundant. What exactly are you trying to do and with which plug ins? Mabey that would shed some light on your question.
  3. I had to laugh at the threads title. The metronome is actually of good enough quality to be used as a percussion instrument. I just recorded a song called "Time Slips Away" I rarely use the metronome but this was one of those songs that started with a riff in my head and a lyrical concept so I just opened my song writing template and plugged in an acoustic guitar and recorded at the default tempo of 120 using the metronome. For song ideas I'm not picky about details like tempo, I just want it down on tape before I forget. I start building with midi. Bass, Drums and keyboards, that old metronome was still going even after I did the drums. It's turned down and I sort of didn't notice it. The song came along fast and was sounding great. Oh, better shut off the metronome. Hey, just a minute,,, it sounded like a clock ticking and was at 120 BPM! A song about time! 120BPM? The tick- tock sound was close but I went into the settings and found exactly what sounded more like a clock ticking. Now I need this as an audio track Hmm??. How the heck do you do that again? I actually had to watch my own tutorial about how to record the metronome because it's not a thing I ever needed to do. And it's tricky stuff. Anyhow I got my metronome recorded as a nice fresh audio track. automated the track so it comes and goes. So there it is, your terrible sounding metronome as a very important part of the song. I think it actually saved the song from mediocrity. @Miquel Cañizares Here's my tutorial regarding the metronome. https://youtu.be/fRkb5cUHs1A it will also show you how to change the count in. And if you have something wrong with your audio set up. watch this https://youtu.be/JM8rKHQ9GIo
  4. I remember trying a few of his plug ins a few years ago, the Bagpipes where very intriguing. Can't remember why but just looking now I only find one remaining plug in from him. The Sim-Sheng. I know I had a few more but I think I deleted them as I'm not in the habit of using any plug ins that cause me grief of any sort. But the Sim-Sheng seems to work and I had no trouble freezing it. Instead of Bounce to tracks did you try to export that track as a stem. Highlight the track, open advanced export and choose Tracks from the pre set menu. Make sure that track is checked. Choose your projects sample rate ( 44.1 or 48) and 32 bit and no dither. make sure to choose time settings as entire project and export. This will create a stem. When the export location toast in the lower right appears, open it and drag the stem to an empty place in track pane.
  5. @SoundIT Will won't actually know your asking him a question unless you tag him like I just did you or you can send him a PM. He hasn't logged on since Feb 10 so not a regular. But my answer would be that Cakewalk is a terrible environment for working with Videos. It works fine if you only need a rough video to score music to but it was never intended to be a video editor of any sort. I worked with a few Video editors trying them out and settled on Movie Maker pro ( Sony Vegas) and it has not only the video editing but can handle a lot of audio editing as well. I can use 3rd party VST effects as well as open audio tracks in a wave editor from within the software. ( Like Cakewalks Tool menu) You can also automate, copy paste etc. Sort of all that is missing is Midi. It's not a DAW but a lot of functions are present in a basic form. Everyone I know works in the Movie editing software using audio they created using a DAW. You export a MP4 drop it in your DAW and do the Music and narration editing using the movie as a guide. Export the audio as stems and drop those back into the Video editor to carry on with syncing and fine tuning. My editor can have I think 20 tracks of audio, Not sure. The more you pay the more you get. So not sure what your workflow is and there's a few of us here who do work with video. I'm really a ultra beginner and my expertise is limited but I found it super helpful to take the time to get out there and watch a lot of tutorials and see how it's done. Da Vinci resolve is very popular and it's free. I liked Vegas only because it seemed simple and it's audio portion has deep roots in Sony's Sound Forge. It's like Home studio was when I was learning Cakewalk.
  6. Google "Using Cakewalks Audio snap" there are lots of tutorials on what you are asking about and it's a very complicated topic. Here's the official documentation https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=AudioSnap.05.html
  7. Absolutely. Just activate the Automation write and see if the Bypass toggle has a red box. It should be by default. You're ready to automate. If it doesn't then right click the effect in the rack which opens this Click on the Write Enabled Parameters And the Bypass should now be highlighted The easy part of automation is just turn it on for the track and go exploring. Anything that can be automated will be highlighted in red. And once you have made any moves at all, an automation lane will be created. Open the automation lane and there you can manually enter as needed. No need to play the track in real time.
  8. Installed the Tungsten and it's a keeper. Did exactly what I wanted without fuss. I'm just working on a new video that will feature as many delays as I can round up. Looks like it might be 30 plus free delays. I always start here https://plugins4free.com/search?term=delay Here's an example of my script so far. https://www.nembriniaudio.com/products/analog-rack-delay Analog Ranch Delay. By Nembrini audio. Basic delay super easy to use. Add ons include the Offset control and Analog switch. Offset Creates a time offset in left/right delay sections. Analog is found on most of their plug ins and it removes harmonics when turned off for a cleaner sound. Personally I like it on. It has sync. And like most of the better ones there are read out for the time in ms when you turn off sync, Manual is built in via a menu item. https://plugins4free.com/plugin/3502/ AmDelay ( Figure this would be perfect for @Bapu ) No sync but great quality It would be a keeper if it at least had a reading for the Time control. Sort of like using old school analog stomp box delay. Good sound quality overall especially for lead guitar. No manual but web page has some info and a video.
  9. Perfect timing. I really need to find a replacement for the Sonitus delay so I’m on the hunt starting with my favourite type of plug ins. Free or dirt cheap. So far the ones that sound the best don’t have sync. Then the ones with sync don’t have the controls I need like the Sonitus has. These look like they came from the set of Carnival Row. Cool.
  10. There’s a lot of stuff which should be in Command Center. If you Google “ What was included with different Cakewalk/ Sonar versions there’s a spreadsheet available that lists it all.
  11. Cakewalk started life as a midi sequencer and audio multi tracking added later. For traditional music it is perfect with all the features of a million dollar studio at your beck and call. Let’s just politely say that it is all a musician needs to create music. Electronic Music has totally different requirements and programs like FL were designed from the ground up with that in mind. You don’t need to be a musician to create music with software that was designed with non musicians in mind.
  12. You never Delete any software you uninstall it. Otherwise you make a mess of your registry. Look up how to do a clean install of Cakewalk. It’s all over this forum a zillion times
  13. I had already installed x3 studio and Splat and then CbB. True Piano was from my copy of 8.5. So I just ran a very stripped down install and that got me Vvocal and True Pianos. I never noticed any issues with CbB.
  14. What I think I’d do is make a save as copy of the project and start deleting plug ins with an eye on the CPU meters. I think bypassing doesn’t unload them.
  15. And then there’s me who recorded a live band. 14 tracks, last summer with a 2008 Sony Laptop with 4 GB of Ram and a pathetic 2.8 ms duo core without a problem. It does have a SSD drive which I think is what makes it work. I still have a Dell laptop from 2003 running XP and it still works like the day it was made. I was using it for lyrics using power point. Now I made Movies with backing tracks and the lyrics and those I use a 2007 Asus net book with 2 GB Ram and W7 for playback. So it makes me laugh when someone thinks that a 5 year old computer needs replacement.

  17. My experience is that it will be a misbehaving plug in. Easy to test if you are only using a few 3rd party plug ins. Remove or swap starting with each until the issue is resolved. And once you find the culprit best to let both Cakewalk and the developers know about the issue.
  18. It depends on the interface I guess because I often switch between my Scarlett 6i6 and my Motu M4 and all I do is close Cakewalk, turn off the interface and then turn the other one then Restart Cakewalk and all is working perfectly as before. Outputs are the same and inputs 1-4 are showing in the tracks. I can also do this with my Tascam 1641 and my Soundcraft mixer but that’s rare. And there’s some big differences as the Motu doesn’t have SPDIF and the Tascam has 14 channels. The Soundcraft is only 2x2. Etc
  19. I have an A 49 which doesn’t have very many knobs but I have often used midi learn on effects and things with out issue. I have to use the correct midi channel however. Omni mode can make a huge mess in there if you used the same knob for something else.
  20. You used to be able to enter a name for the project in notes but that seems to have been broken with an update to the export dialogue. But yes it’s really easy to add or subtract to the export name. Like today I exported a backing track and I first left it in the original key of G. But then I made a second export that I transposed down a step and just add a F to the title.
  21. Have you tried Mix Recall ? That’s what I use. Just the date. Save as new mix. Of course it doesn’t save deleted tracks but it will change all else including effects and instruments including all the settings and automation. I use general folders for holding albums that have names like “CWP originals 2023”. In there are all the project folders, lyrics and folders for finished masters and mp3 files. My songs retain the proper name which I do not change. There are dated backups elsewhere in different locations .
  22. Possibly you didn’t activate it. Even when installed from Command Center the first time you open it it will ask you to enter the serial number. That pop up might have been hidden behind the window you had open. It has a stand alone version you can open and register that. You have to run it as Administrator as well.
  23. You also have to make them FAT enough by increasing the horizontal height. It seems the default height is too small to show them even with the Show Notes toggled.
  24. I just spent the last 4 hours doing this to create a horn section. This is what I do- Solo the track ( tracks) and I have the now time selected to return to where it starts ( CTRL W) I have right hand on mouse, left hand on the spacebar. Using mouse put the cursor at the notes and then hit space bar, listen stop , start, stop etc. the cursor will jump back each time so you can keep play them over and over as you move notes around until is sound the way you wanted...
