My price is 381 Euros, because I own probably an instrument from this collection. Must be why it's not working

This was my assumption too. Could either just use a new email / account, or see if there's something cheap to add. I didn't spend time looking as I'm not sure I really intend on grabbing it.

The massive difference, and main point of these managers is to let you know what's installed and what needs updating - Steinberg, despite the additional apps required doesn't even show what you have installed.  I find that ridiculous personally.  I'm fine, as used Steinberg for years - but anyone new to the platform have a struggle on their hands which isn't helped when you have a number of different Groove Agent & HALion's to install.  It's those users which I feel for.

The download manager should simply show you which products you own, which are installed and which have updates.  Otherwise what's the point?  That's what Native Access does, so is much more justified. (imo)

NI's problem is that they don't want you to keep the installer files, if only they provided that option for people on slow connections.

Not saying that the Steinberg apps are perfect and I do think they should consolidate and improve, but they actually do most of that.

I open up the Steimberg Download Assistant, I click on My Product Downloads and it shows me exactly what I own. If there are any products that need updating, there's an updates section at the top of the Download Assistant. It won't show that for me at the moment, as I'm completely updated. If I click Cubase Pro 12 in the "My Product Downloads" section, it shows all the items that are available and what I've installed and lists them as "Install" or "Install again" if they've already been installed and a big green bar with a tick in it to show it's installed.

I do think part of this is really still just migrating from their old eLicenser system and they're probably working towards a more consolidated experience.

Need IKM to provide real documentation on how it could be done.  Seems odd that the "backup" and restore can't be done cross machine or at least not in a comprehensive way easily.

Agreed, a backup solution should be a total backup. Actually shouldn't be too hard, given that for them to work in Tonex, it has to be able to see them, so if it can see them, it should have all the paths to be able to copy everything into a backup file.

To get all my packs across would likely take about 10/20 seconds and my collection is quite extensive, 250+ Full 3rd party packs and that's without the Signature Packs and other Packs purchased via IK.

I think it was just because there servers might have been getting hammered.. I did restore purchases in Tonex which is normally really quick in Amplitube and it wasn't hours, but it wasn't seconds either. I left it doing it, but I think it might have been around 15 minutes and Tonex for me was completely stock CS and the only thing added was this metal pack. Normally I like to leave things a few days and seem to dodge most server load issues, so maybe I just hit the peak time or something. The whole copy DB thing is good to know though.

I've done that too. For PA I've done it on purpose back when adding a 5.99 item got you over the line for a HUGE discount on an item.

I think a bunch of us have an absurd numbers of tuners and meters from them for that very reason, especially when you could voucher stack.. I miss those days with PA ?

Don't forget those different installers: Steinberg Download Assistant, Steinberg Activation Manager, Steinberg Library Assistant (or was it Manager?) There are probably some few hidden ones but I never went further because enough is enough.

If you use Kontakt which is the closest equivalent, it's really not that much different. You install Native Access, then install Kontakt, then install the library (that could involve another installer if it's a third party Kontakt library). Native Instruments leaves their daemon running in the background which for some weird reason can consume quite a lot of CPU at times when you're not even running their applications.

The Steinberg ones could still be consolidated, but honestly they're simple, use no resources and run on demand. You don't generally often even need to use the library manager anyway.

Steinberg never even enters my head for installer hassles. Native Access has definitely given me trouble more recently.

  7. Pretty good freebie really and nice to see something that hasn't repeatedly done the free circuit multiple times already!

I'll want to spend more time checking it out to know for sure, but some of them don't sound too bad after a quick play.

I only have the free Tonex CS and haven't downloaded the free 20 user presets yet, so it's a nice addition. Thanks Lars ?

Do you have Minimonsta 2? If so you need to log in to your account before you can purchase the soundbank.

Yes, spot on. It's explicitly for V2 so they're doing a pre check first and requires it to be logged in.

For paid presets it makes sense as it stops people buying the incorrect packs, but for free it would be nice if they skip that step. There are some presets I've gotten for free because I knew I was likely to end up buying a particular synth down the track.

Any idea how to cash them in?  I saw the code: UP5215798  in my account, but it won't allow me to redeem.

I don't believe you can with Intros:

Exception: UnitedPlugins credits cannot be used to purchase plugins sold at introductory prices.

StiX VST3 is buggy as all f-ck. Like all their VST3s, really.

I've got PolyKB III and that doesn't seem to have any major bugs that I've come across. It can sound quite nice and almost analog like and warm. I just bought it as it was so enjoyable to play rather than to even use in tracks. I have heard some of their others do have quite a few bugs though.

I haven't done testing myself but there are some video out there about how to replicate it for free

And for anyone with the paid "MB" version they even have an interface for it that looks a bit like it:

    image.thumb.png.7dc690be10e80f8a8bf3181575525c2c.png

That MFlator interface might get closer, but all the other ones I've seen and tried, only null at certain static points (although most don't include multiband so they miss functionality and won't null with that), so they just don't respond in the same way when you start adjusting them. From my experience, it's always so much faster to get the sound dialed in with Inflator than any of the clones I tried.

MFlator looks promising though and it might address some of those downsides.

If you're gonna spend $62 for two of the effecs, I think it's better to buy the whole bundle of eight effects for $149.

Approximately $15 seems to be the max you would need to pay for most of these individually on sale. There's no way I'd pay this price for 2. Sometimes you can pick them up for $10 each.

As I mentioned earlier, they do have Unfiltered Audio, whose plug-ins are about as creative as they come, and who continue to release new ones at least yearly.

If you're referring specifically to Brainworx, I agree. How many variations on bx_masterdesk does the world need?

I have them almost all of Unfiltered Audio, including Triad and Byome, which I got for a comically cheap price in one of my funniest PA deals ever ?

If they didn't have them in their stables, it would be much worse. I would actually like to see more instruments from PA too. Some of the synths they do are really quite good. I had been expecting PPG to pop up soon, but like their mastering DAW they promised, they both seem like vapourware.

I guess if they didn't have to keep fixing for Apple updates we might have had both, but it's hard to know. We also might just have more channel strips, compressors and EQs!

    I was wondering the same.

It's one of those ones that I haven't heard people raving about or anything, which isn't a foolproof way to look at it, but often if they're good, more people will notice and post / comment about them.

If I look at their plugin updates though, as a Windows user I am really disappointed! The last 4 years they almost only worked for MacApple! Not that I am one of those that claim constant updates, no, I am happy if a plugin works as it should, but some of their older ones could gain with a larger UI (or resizing) and some need efficiency improvement!

    These are my 2 cents!

Sometimes I wonder just how many extra updates for major features, GUI improvements, optimizations and new plugins we would all have if it wasn't for all the developers needing to constantly divert resources just to appease Apple updates.. They really do take up the lion share every time an Apple update breaks something.

I find it amusing how plugins that were salivated over and regarded as hot not that long ago appear to go out of fashion.
As the multitudes who desired them have acquired their fill (or burned out on offerings from a particular developer) they appear to either stop viewing related threads or stop contributing - what's left are often less than positive endorsements.

$29 is not a bad price; it may not be a nice as some of pricing combos we were able to manipulate in the past but it's not bad.  For items that rarely go on sale it's your chance to get forever $29 pricing.
I'm thinking of possible picking up NEOLD U2A. Don't really need yet another LA2A mutation, but still I'm considering it.

I still really like a bunch of my PA plugins and they still get a lot of use. For me, I've cooled on them for a few reasons.. they didn't really branch out and get creative, it was just more channel strips, compressors, EQs. They really already covered that base well that it's hard to see a need to buy a bunch of these new ones from them, especially when we were picking up all the old ones at such crazy sale prices. If I hadn't, then some of their new stuff would be pretty appealing. There are a couple of plugins from them on my list that I may buy if they tempt me enough with a better sale price. But definitely not in a hurry.

I think I love just about all that Neold stuff.. I've even considered that one too and definitely don't need it ?
