HoRNet H4K Bus Compressor (New) - Available NOW for just €21.99
Classic VCA BUS compressor with modern features
HoRNet H4K Bus Compressor: Capture the Legendary ‘Big Console Sound’
- Experience the legendary ‘big console sound’ that has defined countless hit records with the HoRNet H4K bus compressor. This powerful plugin emulates the classic VCA circuitry, enhancing your mix with cohesion, power, and clarity.
Glue at Your Fingertips
- The HoRNet H4K bus compressor brings the iconic “glue effect” directly into your favorite DAW. By utilizing the same principles as the classic hardware, this plugin helps you achieve that coveted, solid sound in a digital environment.
Modern Features with Classic Controls
- The HoRNet H4K bus compressor features traditional multi-position switches for RATIO, ATTACK, and RELEASE, alongside continuously variable potentiometers for THRESHOLD and MAKE-UP. Additionally, it offers modern parameters such as fine input/output trim control, Auto Trim, Auto Gain Reduction, Auto Attack/Release calculations, oversampling, and a dry/wet ratio. This blend of classic and modern controls allows you to achieve the best sound for your mixes effortlessly.
Control and Functionality
- One of the standout features of the HoRNet H4K bus compressor is its ability to bypass the compressor while keeping the analog amplifier emulation active. This enables you to use the plugin as an analog saturation tool. The automatic gain compensation feature ensures smooth management of volume changes caused by gain reduction, providing consistent output levels without manual adjustments.
Precision Control
- The HoRNet H4K bus compressor allows precise shaping of your signal path by individually controlling the pre and post-emulation gain levels. These can be automatically adjusted (Auto Trim) or linked together (Link I/O) to maintain consistent input and output levels.
Dynamic Reaction to Your Music
- The HoRNet H4K bus compressor offers six attack rates (0.1; 0.3; 1; 3; 10; 30 ms) and selectable release times (0.1; 0.3; 0.6; 1.2 seconds, and AUTO). The AUTO setting dynamically adjusts the release time in real-time according to the incoming audio characteristics. This ensures effective, natural-sounding compression without manual adjustments.
Pristine Audio Quality
- To guarantee the best audio quality, the HoRNet H4K bus compressor includes variable oversampling options ranging from 2x to 8x with automatic settings. This reduces artifacts like aliasing, automatically selecting the optimal oversampling amount based on your session’s sample rate.
Preset Management and Factory Presets
- The HoRNet H4K bus compressor includes convenient load and save buttons for managing presets, making it easy to recall favorite settings or experiment with new ones.
The Ultimate Tool for Professional Audio Production
- The HoRNet H4K bus compressor plugin is essential for achieving the iconic ‘big console’ sound and adding a unique sonic solidity to your projects. Whether working on music, film scores, or broadcast audio, the HoRNet H4K will become an indispensable part of your workflow.

Anyone know a way to quickly figure out which plugins I don't already own easily? I have like 78 plugins from their everything bundle.
But think there are newer releases still. Sadly their Doin plugin doesn't quickly show 'my plugins' or exclude them to easily tell what's left to buy.
They could probably add this quite easily to their download / installer.
In that you can click on "My Plugins" and you get a simple view of all your plugins. On the Demos tab, it has all plugins, but if you already own a plugin, you don't need a demo. So if they just did the inverse of "My Plugins" and populated the Demos section with that, it would make much more sense and be a quick and easy check to see what you don't already own and it would place no additional load on the website.

Mine came as well. Good deal huh?
Got mine as well and a very good deal
This was a really clever way of doing it too. A lot of us have already bought a heap of Hornet's plugins, so often miss out on the freebie gifts. This time we didn't miss out and by staggering the load, their servers weren't smashed and offline.
It would have taken way more manual effort on their part to go through the emails though, so @HoRNet a HUGE thank you!!

better if they could offer a synth, too many fxs' go these days
Let's hope they don't get creative and offer UVI Digital Synsations Vol. 1 like just about every damn reseller almost every month it seems 🤣
It is at least refreshing to see LoopCooud isn't just trotting out Softube VCA Compressor again.. Or free UA Verve Essentials, or the previously free UA LA2A.. they must be saving them for another run next month... Haha...
These particular ones aren't quite as common to see free at least (apart from IK Group Buys)
I'm not sure the resellers know this, but a free incentive is normally more effective when half the world hasn't already gotten it free multiple times over!

Oh, I misread it - missed the "at no cost part". Guess I need more coffee - morning here for me. 🤦♂️
I'd be interested to know which Hornet plugins people get the most use out of. I know there was a joke about more collecting the Hornet plugins than using them. I do struggle liking the Hornet UI aesthetic on most of the plugins.
Hornet Plugins are underrated. It depends on what you've already got, but Analog Stage is good, so is Tape and Multicomp. Their HA2A is nice as well. Total EQ isn't bad either.

Has anyone received an Email recently from HoRNet (Saverio) that made them think twice whether or not it was authentic?
I know the one you mean and from any other company I would definitely share your concern, but I would not at all be surprised if it's genuine from him. He's not ruthless and greedy like some of the companies out there and has been quite generous previously 🙂

Waves also have OneKnob Wetter. Who on earth thought that would be a good name?
Probably the same person in Waves that thought WUP, or subscription only, would be a good idea 🤣
For the record, I also think Knobcloud is a completely stupid name and so is CLAP to replace the VST standard though.. Haha...

Was that for rating DriveMod, as I don't think you get VC for feedback on freebies?

Did anyone try to use K7D?, Whats your impression?
Still haven't spent long with it, but driving the pre-amp on this thing sounds nice on synths! Albeit I feel it needs a an overall volume dial to counter that gain, besides only the mix wet/dry. But on an effect send you could just set to fully wet and then dial in as much as you want by the level on the output of that send.
Somewhat like a lot of their presets, they have some crazy experimental presets and for the right situation they would be perfect.
Can make it sound pretty organic and warm by driving the pre, adding some spread / wow / flutter and making it ping pong. There's a preset that is a really good starting place for that.
Still need more time with it and to read the manual and check out all the LFO / mod side.
For a dollar or less, I'd happily buy it again. It's already amused me enough to make it worth it for entertainment alone 🤣

There’s a number of possibilities. I first applied the full €0,90 and it said I wouldn’t be eligible as balance could t be zero. I then changed it to €0,89 which it accepted but it’s possible the freebie was removed from my cart automatically the first time. Other possibility is that even though my price should have been €0,01 the final amount to pay was €0.00.
Yeah a few of those seem plausible. I was almost tempted to just save the virtual cash and use it on something more expensive to avoid the risk, but the worst case scenario wasn't too bad anyway.

I’m just annoyed I need to wait for a refund of my €0,89.
I've been a bit worried in the past about that happening. Did you happen to notice if it stripped it from the cart once you applied the virtual cash? Or does it stay in the cart but you just don't get it once you've checked out?

I've got it installed, but haven't had much time to use it yet. I do quite like two of their synths though, so they do make some quality software.

You can use it on whatever you like, so it's fine on sub groups, but like most 4K which is what you already have I believe, it is more commonly used these days for the stereo/master buss.
