  3. I actually think I read that too.. sometimes it takes either the dev, or the resellers to update the info pages. That was taken directly from JRR.

  6. Darktable had a bit of a learning curve, but I actually quite like it now and find it quick and efficient and love not paying Adobe for Lightroom instead! I did have to Google some things and watch a couple of YouTube vids though.
  7. I've been thinking the exact same thing with DC8C too Mark. I had liked that aspect of Kush Novatron which allows you to have attack and release characteristics of multiple types of compressors and that's a really nice sounding compressor too. DC8C extends that ability much further though.
  8. Here's a review on this version on Fstoppers and it's quite favorable: https://fstoppers.com/reviews/lightroom-killer-review-gemstone-photo-editor-12-603426

  10. I have that too and thought it was pretty nice as well. On top of great sounding plugins, very reasonable prices and no copyright protection hassles.
  11. It's a slightly older version, but sharing on here as it's free and I know a bunch of people on here use photo editors and sometimes share this type of thing.. that and it's not a competing DAW, so I should be safe posting it ? Why choose ACDSee Gemstone 12? (Aside from the obvious reason – it’s available for FREE!) ACDSee Gemstone Photo Editor 12 has all the artistry and layered prowess you need to satisfy your photo editing desires, no matter how complex the composition. For maximum productivity, the MDI (Multi-Document Interface) layered editor allows you to carve your images into full spectrum splendor. Let sultry tone curves and spinning color wheels feed your imagination as you whip through Gemstone’s non-destructive RAW image processor, ACDSee RAW, and layered graphic editor. With an intuitive design, and presets for everything from creating files to fine-tuning colors, the Gemstone Photo Editor will polish your design workflow. https://www.acdsee.com/en/gemstone-giveaway/
  12. It was free a little while ago, so you might have grabbed it then. That's when I did. I haven't actually installed it yet but I did see some half decent reviews of it, so I had intended on checking it out. At least I'll be starting with the updated version now.. Haha..
  13. I was almost 100% certain someone would say that! Haha... That's another one that seems to have been very well received. I have a feeling I will end up buying that at some stage ?
  14. They really are, aren't they John?! The only two paid ones I don't own are SDRR and TENS. I am tempted by SDRR, although I definitely don't need it. If they had a demo I'd probably end up buying it anyway, but I'm not sure if it adds enough unique features / sound to make it worthwhile. If I didn't own a bunch of great saturation, then it would be a complete no brainer at all.
  15. Klanghelm DC8C advanced compressor Klanghelm never have sales, but I just grabbed this the other day and love it. The expert mode has controls for shaping just about everything and it has saturation that you can add pre compression, or post, or sidechain only. You can use it in basic mode too, but expert is deep like Unisum, or TDR Kotelnikov, but for some reason seems easier, or more fluid to dial in the right compression. I can see this one being a go to compressor for me ? Introducing DC8C DC8C is one of the most flexible compressors around. While making a lot of different compression styles possible, it's general nature may be described as: clear, smooth, open, distinct. The main goal while designing DC8C was to get a very clean compressor action without unwanted and often almost inevitable artifacts/distortion. This way you can achieve almost invisible compression for your most demanding mastering sessions, when you want to avoid coloration. If you aim for color you can choose between two saturation models. From opto-style, peak compression, external side-chaining, RMS compression, Feedback, Feedforward compression (and everything in-between) to negative ratios, zero latency brick-wall limiting, from snappy transient treatment to smooth transient rounding - everything is possible. DC8C is available in the following formats (all included in a single license): Windows (64bit): VST, VST3, AAX Native for ProTools® 11 or higher macOS: AU, VST, VST3, AAX Native for ProTools® 11 or higher https://klanghelm.com/contents/products/DC8C

  17. What do you mean? Of course there's a link.. now Haha.. Thanks for letting me know Mibby!
  18. I wouldn't be surprised if he was just avoiding the forum until they sort out some of the stability and bug issues it's had lately. With all the deals he posts, having to redo some of them when they have site issues would get on your nerves.
  19. I was trying to work that out before. Very well regarded it seems, but they might be a little dated. But if they weren't, then we likely wouldn't be seeing this kind of discount. Apparently they were recently updated to VST3, but I'd download a demo first to make sure if you're thinking of buying as they don't state that clearly in their specs. People have definitely raved over some of these over the years including mastering engineers.

  23. That makes sense. I hadn't heard too many complaints about their stuff at all, although I do see where you're coming from with submenus. They can suck in general on synths and other hardware. You can get some desktop editors for some of them, but the nice thing about hardware is getting away from the screens. At least you were able to return them OK.
  24. This story checks out ? They seem a bit more all over the place of late.. some cheap prices as a bonus, but they do seem like they're making it up as they go!
