I'm a little the same.. there's not much exciting in there that I don't have.. lots of "good" products and I may use them if I bought Volume just because I have them, but for most of them I probably already have better. The main things from Softube that I have thought about are the Weiss stuff (Compressor/Limiter or DS1-MK3), Chandler and Empirical Labs. Maybe Tube-Tech but probably not. If I hadn't already bought a bunch of good plugins and instruments, then the bundle would still be a good option. That's one of the great things about being on this forum and scoring so many bargains on great software, it's so easy to pass up average deals and weak loyalty offers from companies like Softube.
-
That definitely is an option, but essentially somebody who has never bought anything from them can just buy one of their most expensive plugins and upgrade for cheaper than someone who has spent a bucketload of cash with them. They just don't get customer loyalty. Selling plugins is often effort and little returns on them, even though as you mentioned Softube does retain their value a little better. The customer that's never bought from them would still be way in front.
-
Maybe the update to their site is just working it's way through accounts. If that's not the case, then Softube has taken an even worse turn for customer loyalty, but I think you should be OK ?
-
Yeah their upgrade mentality sucks.. you could have every single plugin from the bundle and your upgrade price would still only be the price minus the most expensive plugin. I had been waiting to see this one and it's an easy pass. There's not enough unique stuff in there that couldn't be cherry picked in a sale for the most part. I now see why they retired some of their products right before releasing it as well..

Gig Performer not available through Plugin Alliance anymore (Not a Deal)
MusicMan replied to Walter Cruz's topic in Deals
Dear Reality handled it perfectly. My license was just transferred across by raising a request to them. It seems they treat you as a regular customer. The concept of charging someone more because they legitimately bought a product at a discount through their official reseller is a bit anti customer in my book. I had thought I might upgrade to the unlocked version out of convenience, but don't think I'd bother with this company now. -
Gig Performer not available through Plugin Alliance anymore (Not a Deal)

That's a very unusual cross grade policy based off the price you paid... That's almost a bit IKM.. you really either own the product, or you don't, but I get their thinking.. -
The thing about practically all deals, is once they reach a price, they're almost all guaranteed to be that again... or less! Apart from the odd pricing mistake.. (we're so due for a good one again!) So unless you really need it, or just really want it now, it often doesn't matter too much. There's been quite a few I've missed out on only to find something better afterwards anyway and then never got around to buying the first one. There's always more.. more sales, more plugins, more developers, more ("game changers" ?)
-
I love that both of those companies do that. Even more useful considering how many plugins they sell too. It would be great if PA for example displayed them while you're browsing too without having to use that addon from Github. I bought their 2022 bundle though, so it's a bit of a moot point for me now as it's always easy to know which ones I don't own!

In a bundle it does. I got it for $41.80 in a 5 gem bundle from JRRShop. Given it's one of their more expensive, it was a perfect choice as a bundle pick. I think the 3 bundle price isn't far off $49 from memory, but otherwise I think around $80 on sale, but should be a decent step up in quality. Their stuff is really good!

This one could be quite good, but I'd rather pick up the Overloud's Gem VOICE on sale for similar money instead. I have and love Gem Voice and it even has a few IRs for the 6000 and Lexicon 480 reverbs in there which I've used on other instruments too.

Oh really?! That should've been pulled from the store sooner in my opinion. I wouldn't be too happy to buy something and then find out a few days later it was made legacy and only get updates for 3 years.
-
Well I held out pretty well... until I tried the demo.. it does sound nice.. for that price it had to be mine ?

One or more products you own will soon become a legacy product. What does this mean? In short, your product will soon become a supported legacy product. You will continue to receive updates and bug fixes for three years. After three years, you will no longer receive updates, but you can access the latest qualified update for your legacy product to ensure the integrity of your project. The supported legacy products are: Bass Amp Room Metal Amp Room Vintage Amp Room FET Compressor Mk I Legacy products are discontinued products no longer sold by Softube. There are two types of legacy products: supported and unsupported. Legacy products will receive support from Softube for three years after being discontinued. At this point, they become unsupported legacy products. As long as a legacy product is supported, you will receive new installers and updates, and the products themselves will continue to be qualified by our Quality Assurance team. When the three-year period is coming to an end, we will email you again with more information about your product status. Learn more by visiting our FAQ, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our Support team. Kind regards, Softube

Might be worth checking to see if you already own it. I did, so I didn't grab it to save serials for others ?

Mutate I'm not so sure whether it has much value, but Spectrum could be interesting.. seems a little like IK / UVI but in a Kontakt instrument. https://www.wavealchemy.co.uk/product/spectrum/
-
This is quite tempting... https://audioplugin.deals/product/kontakt-synth-bundle-by-wave-alchemy/ For as low as $34.99 (normally $162), get the massive 19GB+ Kontakt Synth Bundle featuring SPECTRUM, MUTATE and BASS PEDALS by Wave Alchemy! Can get Bass Pedals with the other two for $31.49 with coupon code: apdis6

Yeah I always found it weird that they had some really great sounding products, but then just never updated the UI for them. They can be annoying to use in some ways, so I get the point. At least the sound is good on this one!
-
It might just be their actual website that's incorrect, not their ecomm site they use.
-
It might depend on what country you're browsing from, or if you're logged in and have other products. Saurus 4 shows 50% off, whereas Icarus 2 doesn't for me for some reason. Icarus 2.5 (Was €199) €149 $169 Whereas Saurus 4 is 50% New! Saurus 4 (Was €119) €59 $69
-
It didn't seem to be 50% when I looked, so it might be an "up to 50% sale" . Some of the other synths are though.
-
In fairness I can pretty safely guarantee it's much more fun than having breakfast though isn't it?! ?
-
Haha.. it can get like that at times ? Would be really interesting to hear your thoughts on how they both compare.
-
I grabbed the Lowdown as it sounds quite different to any of the others I have from them and I really like the sound. I also stumbled across a review about Wave Alchemy Bass Pedals which is a Kontakt library and that sounded really good too, so I might even pick that up at some stage for another option.

They actually explain it quite well in their forum and why they feel it's not false advertising. Like I mentioned though, I do agree their advertising copy could be improved and they could've handled the situation better after Dan's video. Instead of being focused on artifacts found in old gear, we focused on the original work that went into voicing the EQ at the time. As mentioned above the 32C EQ predated "parametric EQs" and it was very difficult to make that EQ do a lot of work with just the two knobs per band. The feel of the knobs, the depth of the proportional -Q action, the speed of the filters relative to the knobs etc. etc. etc. was a serious trial by error. Those refined circuit designs (yes resistors, capacitors, transistors etc.) are what we included in the mathematical model. Also note, that the distortion and noise measurements of those original consoles (WHEN THEY WERE NEW) were extremely low and virtually unaffected even with the EQ in circuit. The entire point back when there were ONLY analog consoles was to make them as clean, with the lowest possible noise and distortion, lowest possible cross-talk, and as phase coherent as possible. Harrison was not alone. Every analog console manufacturer was after the same thing/s. Distortion, noise, cross-talk, phase issues etc. etc. were all the enemy. We spent many man years tweaking those console circuit designs for optimum performance. All of that... is what we built into the mathematical model of the Mixbus32C EQ and now the 32C Channel EQ. As with the original console EQ design, this was no easy task. It caused a lot of headaches and issues here because the mathematical model was built on the knob resistor values to get the tapers and behaviors correct rather than using off-the-shelf Bi-quad math. But we digress, this is a post about Bertom, so this should really be under a Harrison post, or PM ? Analog Obsession make some great plugins too though and super generous for free. I don't use them much these days, but I might have to make a point to go through some of them again. In particular the Harqules, as I don't remember that one, so thanks for sharing it!

They both sound good, but from this video alone, wow... That Moog Taurus III sounds insanely good and quite a step ahead! So warm and thick sounding.. love those bass tones from it ?
