It gets like that sometimes ? It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the comparison between this one and the NI/Softube one too.
-
Price is tempting.. I've just been A->B testing between the Waves version, NI/Softube's VC-160 and this. Waves wins on features, but loses points for WUP and being Waves! Sounds different to the other two. Not in a bad way or anything. Sometimes I preferred it. The NI / Softube and UAD sound very close to my ears. So much so that I'm wondering whether Softube coded the algorithms for UAD given the similarities and their relationship with UAD. I'm not certain it really adds much to the NI one included in Komplete apart from UA having a scalable UI. Edit: Also testing the Hornet MultiComp MK2 which you can select VCA-160 as a model inside it. Analog Obsession does the free dBComp, but I don't think I've got that installed any more.

Oh wow.. sorry to hear that Lars... not fun at all.... Like others have said, it all happens for a reason though ? Glad to hear that it's all covered by insurance!
-
Yeah I think that was very shady on their part. I bought it ages ago, so apart from paying a higher price, I've had a reasonable amount of use out of it at least, so it's not as bad. I will likely favour the UAD and Overloud ones in projects for now, as well as the PSP one. Can't see myself paying for Softube's MKII personally, but I guess I may demo it at one stage and like it. I have 0% interest in it currently though.

I believe it will get support for a few more years from memory, but they've announced its being sunset, so it's definitely on the way out.

Glad you like it! Hornet doesn't have really fancy UIs and aren't expensive, so lots of people overlook them. But he has some hidden gems and they're normally really light on CPU. The other one that surprised me recently was Multicomp Plus MK2. It has a number of compressor styles and emulations and some sounded great. It has (VCA, FET, OPTO, Console4K, VCA160) and one expander. Their Tape is light on resources and not bad either, Analog Stake is great. SW34EQ looks somewhat like a toy, but it's actually quite a nice sounding EQ. I even like TotalEQ too. Prices are great and no stupid copy protections. That's why I always try and support him :)

I have it and I actually like it. Easily worth the asking price and a slightly different vibe to some of the others I have and have tried.

There's one thing to know about Hornet's secret sales... spoiler alert... they're not secret and pretty regular! Many of us are subscribers to his newsletter and a lot of the deals posted here for all companies in this forum are for newsletter subscribers and people posting them here saves them being missed in everyone's inboxes. So the extra sales that Sav would get from sales of people that miss their newsletter in their sea of emails and those that aren't even subscribers but only buy because they see it here does the opposite of hurting the dev. In every situation he's getting more money than he would by not sharing

HoRNet HA2A 90% off only for our newsletter subscribers Are you ready for a secret sale? For a limited time only, use the discount code SSHA2A0923 at checkout and receive a massive 90% discount on HoRNet HA2A. This offer is available until September 7th at 11:59:59 PM (Italian time), so don't wait! Head over to our website now and start shopping. Remember, the discount code SSHA2A0923 is your ticket to big savings, but you can use it only once! HoRNet HA2A is a faithful recreation of a very famous opto compressor made of tubes, transformers and a very peculiar combo of a photo resistor and an electroluminescent panel. We modeled a real piece of gear which is found in the studio of our friend Flavio aka TheBuildzer, we measured the response of the unit, the transfer function, the attack and release behavior and put everything into this new plugin which improves the OPTO model in Multicomp Plus MK2 and recreates the sound of this historical compressor. https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/hornet-ha2a/

iZotope Music Production Suite 6 is here - update from V5 for $41.16

Sometimes that approach is the best way! With the serials, which ones were separate? Quite a few duplicates from the last version. -
Thanks Fleer. I had used the individual installer and it didn't seem to have an option for it. I used their download/install manager and it shows up in there, so I was able to install it via that.

This one is really good. Great for finding some hidden gems in your sample libraries.

Do you recall where from? As in mine it doesn't seem to have them and I couldn't see any additional downloads for it. But I don't own Biotek. I did skim the manual, but otherwise I might need another look!
-
It happens to just about all of us! ?
-
Are you sure you don't just have soundpacks, or BioTek and it's pulling sounds from them?
-
That's exactly why I grabbed Hive.. I've got plenty of synths, but for some reason it's just fun and enjoyable for sound design. Bit lighter on CPU than Diva as well. They're all great though. u-he makes some solid kit!
-
All the licences came through almost instantly for me and I installed the hell out of the u-he ones almost immediately just in case! Komplete Ultimate I haven't though due to its size, but it showed up instantly and I picked a few things I wanted to install, so all good on both of those lots.

HoRNet DeeLay FREE for 24 hours The deal expires on September 5th at 23:59:59 (Italian time) The HoRNet DeeLay is a good sounding vintage digital dub delay, it’s capable of common delay duties and it’s also up to the most demanding creative tasks. The vintage button gives the HoRNet DeeLay that typical early 90s sound where digital was still imperfect and with a character of its own. The DeeLay can make endless feedback loops and changing the delay time changes the pitch of the buffer creating funny and interesting noises, the time parameter can be modulated with an LFO allowing the creation of futuristic wobbling sounds. Since the delay is digital it has all the robotic artifacts of modulated digital delays instead of the smooth action of an analog emulated delay. Try it on vocals, guitars or anything that needs space, the HoRNet DeeLay will surprise you with it’s spacey yet focused sound. https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/hornet-deelay/

That explains it then... I almost missed out on these prices looking for Zebra, as I would've definitely jumped at that. Still very happy with what I got in the end anyway, but Zebra would've been nice
-
Don't know much about this one. Is it any good? Limited ratings/reviews on KVR.
-
Was u-he Zebra for sale on there? I looked at the time, but couldn't find it for some reason. But it is NKS compatible as well, so I would've thought it would be in the store too.
-
Hive, Satin and upgrade to Komplete Ultimate Surprised more people didn't jump on Satin at that price. It's pretty epic! Big thanks to @TracingArcs
-
Welcome Niky and seems like a pretty great price to jag the bundle!! Pretty happy with that one I like Big Clipper 2, it's a little different to some of my other clippers as well with the combination of Clipper and Limiter and tube emulation and I do like the stuff from Boz. It's normally very usable and gets the job done quickly.
