Not a bad tune a little repetitive in the groove and like Tom the drums sound like you could do with some variations in velocity. What drum sampler are you using if at all? Sorry if what is below is teaching you to suck eggs but as an ex drummer here are some ideas to help you get more realistic drum feels. No drummer is time perfect they are always a little behind or a little in front of the beat with each hit. There are a couple of tricks you can try on drums, make use of the Vary Velocity CAL script only needs to be a spread of 10 to 15 velocity changes say 85 to 100 will make all the difference. Also nudge can be useful, move a few hits forward 5 or so ticks and a few back the same amount. There are two type of drum rolls Double stroke where the drummer plays two hits with one stick and then two with the other, this normally shows up with one hand being consistently quieter. Single stoke rolls where only one hit is made per hand these tend to speed up as played so the hits get closer together.

@Makke You got your groove on with this one, sweet furry paw tapping stuff.

@Max Arwood Thank you for your ears and comment, Arturia's CS-80 V provided the organ-ish pad and their Jup-8 V provided the bass.

@Bajan Blue Thank you glad you enjoy my little excursion into the world of vocals.

It has a some what repetitive vibe to the groove, could do with a breakdown or a totally different groove in a middle 8, mix wise it sounds balanced and the individual instruments are obvious. Keep it up you will get there in the end, anything worth doing takes time to learn. Thanks for sharing.

John Noizz - Light Years (Original Mix) / House - Progressive house track
Wookiee replied to John Noizz's topic in Songs
I agree with Tom you could do with cutting the build up to the start quite considerably, especially as the whole things is +8 minuets, mix works well here on the Adam's. Good depth and clarity on the voices. Thanks for sharing. -
Not my thing, and it is a little all done the middle which make separating some of the voices difficult btu sounds like you are making progress, thanks for sharing.

@DeeringAmps Thanks Tom. Two snaps eh?
-
Have to agree with Tom (@DeeringAmps on this, there is not enough chest collapsing kick, other than that did you have a a little ergot yourself
-
Strong dance stuff, I understand the vocal synth but not a fan, ignoring the vocal the mix works here.

@emeraldsoul Thanks Tom, yes it is the voice of The Wookiee, thought I should try practising singing (?) in an Earth native language to see if that removed the lethal side-effects of the normal Wookiee language, it appears to have worked as you have survived. Thank you for your ears and kind words, will have to see lyrics are not something that come to me that often. I get inspired by a word or a comment that sets me off on a musical path.
