internet connection issue (seems like a sort of firewall-relating issue)

Hyeonsoo Yoo

Question

i get a message which says

"unable to connect to the internet. please verify your connection and try again"

i literally double, triple-checked the state of internet, like, nothing's wrong with internet

and i googled and seems like a firewall-relating issue

so i turned off the firewall but still getting the same message

what am i missing? anyone?

You need to create an account here,  https://www.bandlab.com

Then from the help menu of Cakewalk by Bandlab, select sign in to Bandlab.

This will open a browser window to Bandlab.  Use your new Bandlab account username and password to sign in.

Activation will only occur if you do it from Cakewalk by Bandlab’s help menu. Simply being logged on to Bandlab proir to running Cakewalk by Bandlab is not enough.

I have the exact same issue. The answer by Promidi does not solve it, as this problem is not about activating Cakewalk, but by installing it in the first place. I have tried starting the installer with and without firewall and get the exact same result as the exact same result as the OP. Does anyone know a solution?

I have never had issues installing any version of Cakewalk (and I am sure I am not the only one)

There must be something going on with your PC that prevents the installation.

If using WIFI, are you able to switch to an ethernet (fully wired from PC to router) connection?

Please give us more information (error messages, version of Windows, your exact steps, etc)

On a properly configured Windows 10 PC, with a stable internet connection, the download and installation of Cakewalk should go smoothly.

Thank you both for your suggestions. Strangely enough, when trying again a few days later the problem disappeared. I did not change anything to my PC or network, so I don't know why. But I'm happy I can use Cakewalk now.

Sounds like it was an ISP issue.  Glad you’re up and running.....
