It didn't work in CW on Win10.
That's where I was getting the "incorrect username or password" error message, when trying to login with the popup that opened on top of Cakewalk.

The way I discovered the fix was booting a WIn 7 OS and seeing the message
"login with Assistant" which I did on Win 7 and Activation completed.
I didn't get that message on Win 10 so I didn't think to do it that way.
Then Logging in With Assistant on the Win 10 OS completed activation.

@Steve_Karl were you running the latest Cakewalk release for 2021-06? 
BandLab assistant will likely be deprecated soon so you will ultimately need to be able to login through Cakewalk. How were you attempting to log in - did you use the Google auth or Facecebook sign in option or just the BandLab sign in credentials? If it worked in BandLab assistant as long as you are using the same kind of sign in the same credentials should work.
