  1. Best wishes Lars for whatever you're dealing with and looking forward to your return.
  2. For you Techno Heads: This Label Sampler is packed with over 420 free to use Beat Loops, Atmos, FX, One Shots, Synth Stabs, Synth loops, Arps, Top Loops and Vocals. I don't like Techno that much, but the demos sounded pretty cool to me. I might pick it up at that price. Another thing to use in XO. 10 ATMOSPHERES 230 BEAT LOOPS 20 EFFECTS 20 KICKS 30 HATS 20 CLAPS 10 RIDES 6 SYNTH STABS 16 ARP LOOPS 14 SYNTH LOOPS 14 TOP LOOPS 20 VOCALS (Deep / Female / Male) Get it HERE This is a promo for a big deal they are running now for 12 Techno collections for about $34
  3. Totally worth it for me to spend over $198 for that Bazantar I've been dreaming about. FREE! 😄
  4. I don't see it up on the site any more. Maybe it's over and there will be a new gift today? But I agree. Usually when they do an expensive free gift, you can't get it unless you pay decent money for something else. You can't buy an $8 product. Anyway, like a lot of you, I have too many Bazantars already. 😄
  5. At 8dio Today's free gift is The New Bazantar. Normally $198 39-String Acoustic Bass.
  6. WA Production's SPHERE DELAY is free with purchase until 9/2. Get it HERE As the normal price for this is over a million dollars, this is an extraordinary deal indeed. They are also giving away their parallel processing plug COMBEAR (normally $100,000) for signing up for their mailing list. If you're looking for some inexpensive things to buy, one thing that stands out is the Dodge Pro Enveloper Shaper, which is only $4.90 on a flash sale now (normally $29) But there are a lot of loop packs, synth presets, and tutorial available at reasonable prices. Everybody on this forum knows the deal about the kind of gear that WA sells, because PluginBoutique always has their products on sale. I have to tell you I had never spent time on their actual site before. They have a LOT of stuff. One thing I didn't know is that they have a ton of free stuff available, including things like female vocal loops. Check it out HERE.
  7. There is a manual. \https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=281&t=478885 Hopefully that will answer your questions.
  8. Upgraded to 2.2. Includes bug fixes and retina display. Nice that they have upgraded it twice. I would also add that it is a reverb plug as well as a granular one. Some people like that and some don't. I like it. It makes it different. You can get nice shimmer effects with it. Killer VSTBuzz sale is over, but there's still a store-wide sale at Audiority and it's $29.25 instead of $45.00 I really love Autiority, particularly this and their guitar pedalboards
  9. One thing that pops out for me is that you can get HALion 6 for $125 if you have Kontakt, Falcon, Omnisphere, Machfive, or Komplete. That's a great deal. I wasn't aware that Soundiron ported Olympus Choir to HALion. 4 Cinematique instruments for HALion. I love HALion, but they have not been successful getting third party companies to create libraries for that platform. Not like Kontakt or even UVI. https://new.steinberg.net/promotion/summer-sale/
  10. Get it HERE Ends August 6th. Radiator is a dual drive tube input channel and EQ, based on the classic Altec 1567A tube mixer from the 1960s. The original Altec 1567A hardware was a rack-mounted five-input tube mixer with removable transformers, a simple two-knob EQ, an unmistakable green faceplate, and a whopping 97 dB of gain. The sound, by today’s standards, is coloured and gritty, with a heaping helping of good old-fashioned hardware noise. In its day, it was used on many early Motown hits and found its way into the PA racks of countless churches and school auditoriums across the USA. The unmistakable green-faced Altec gear, and in particular the 1566A and 1567A, played a big part in shaping the early “sound” of Motown between 1961 to 1964. Songs by greats like The Four Tops, The Marvelettes and The Supremes went through a 1567A mixer to the massive three-track recorder. Ahhh, when life was simple. These mic preamps and mixers have a very coloured warm sound and are very loud. The EQ is as simple as it gets, with one knob for bass, and another for treble. After Motown, and after much gear came and went, analog diehards began seeking out the 1566A and 1567A as inexpensive sources for real tube sound. Motown Records Chief Engineer, Russ Terrana, used the 1567A extensively and it became part of the distinctive Motown sound. Producer Matt Wallace was a very big fan. Butch Vig and Billy Bush are also fans. Radiator brings the classic Altec tube sound to desktop recording rigs, capturing the distinctive warmth and punch of the original hardware. Featuring the modelled bass and treble tone controls from the original unit, a mix control for easy parallel processing, and the saturation and harmonic effects of the original hardware’s input and output amplifiers. All of these different circuit elements interact, allowing a wide range of tones to be created with just a few simple knobs. Plus we let you decide if the original noise is on or off. Over the past few years, the Altec mixers have been picked up by recording studios as an inexpensive way to bring analog colour and character to computer-based digital recording. With producers like Matt Wallace of early Maroon 5 fame utilizing the 1567A on their early hits, and now bands like the Black Keys (who had a custom console made from Altec 1567A’s) the demand, and price, for these funky little colour boxes have soared.
  11. I have seen a lot of videos like this, but this is the first time I was convinced to download some of these. There's some surprisingly good stuff here I had never heard of. I also understand Drum 'Mica better than I did before after watching this. Definitely worth a look. There are a lot of similar videos on his YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCESNxzJHzDnCIuRO0RhQLeA I've got a lot of viewing to do.
  12. Should I take down the Snake Oil guy? I find his whining amusing. Also, this whole issue of realistic GUI is also something that is a big rant for me... I enjoy a a nice graphic for a plugin, but I'm suspicious of how much I'm looking more than listening. 😄
  13. It's in my cart, but I can't get into my cart. I'll keep trying...
  14. Get it HERE ECHOREC– A Legendary-Sounding Delay Vintage Echorec devices are known for their saturation, self-oscillation, and oversound, all shaping the music produced in the 70s. They are also, however, known to be fragile and difficult to maintain. For this plugin three different units, in different conditions, have been precisely modeled, to have all sounds from the cleanest magnetic delay, to the most grunge. The Echorec will offer you: The sound of a legendary machine that has marked the history of music The unique ability to create rhythmic delays using its 4 read heads A delay of unequalled sound density, making it easier to place in the music The advantages of “organic” analog sound as well as the advantages of digital sound (presets, parameter automation, etc.) These additions and the signature sound of the Binson Echorec 2 make this echo a must-have tool for any mixer who wants to add the subtle analog life, which is sorely lacking in digital delay plugins. A Unique Custom Modification Of The Classic 60’s Binson Echo/Delay Unit Why It’s Unique The Pulsar Echorec plugin gives you a faithful emulation of the legendary echo unit of the same name; furthermore, many workflow improvements have been added to the original, such as the ability to change the motor speed (and so the delay time) in real time or to sync it to any tempo, including a tapped tempo. Authentic Tube Sound The exact sound of the all-tube input section of the Binson Echorec has been precisely replicated. Special attention was paid to the modeling of pre-emphasis filters. Magnetic Field Recreation Any sound going through a magnetic device is modified in a particular way. Complex processes in the Echorec disk involving magnetic saturation and hysteresis have been precisely modeled. Stereo Drift As an improvement to the original hardware design, Pulsar Audio added the possibility of slightly detuning the left and right channels. The result is a large stereo echo with precisely placed repetitions. Creative Modulations Sound engineers always have their tricks. One of the coolest with the Echorec is the ability to slow the disk down with a finger, resulting in creative pitch modulation or wow and flutter effects on the delayed signal. Three States Of Wear Any Binson unit found nowadays has traveled 50 years through time. Some are in mint condition, and some are used. During measurements, it was found that each unit had a special color, and some are really nice independently from the unit condition. So we selected the three units we liked the most. Off Mode Some effects just sound incredibly good, even when they’re not supposed to affect the sound at all. The Binson Echorec is one of these. So Pulsar Audio carefully designed an Off mode that reproduces the color and grit of the delayed signal, without any delay. For more details on all of these features read the User Manual HERE.
  15. A lot of you know my love for Bela D Media vocal libraries. I did two videos on their recent release SORA. They have been around for a long time and they made the first professional vocal library ever, called Diva. It cost a fortune in those days, but all the top composers bought it and it was used in major movies and TV shows. It still is. Bela D is where Tarilonte and a lot of other top people got their start. At first they did a lot of gothic-type libraries, but now they do choirs and all sorts of vocal things. Anyway, now it seems like they have a 50% sale going on more or less permanently on their site, but on top of that, if you add the code BDM20 you'll get an additional 20% off whatever is in your cart. Get it HERE
  16. APD is probably overwhelmed with traffic because of this deal. If you can't get it, you should write them.

  18. If any of you have Strezov's Balkan Ethnic Orchestra, there's a version of this included. I believe it's the same singers, but smaller groups. If you own BEO, it cuts a few bucks off of this price when you log into your account.
  19. You are so right. It's coming. And upgrades are rarely discounted. But I like the ujam system. I actually prefer it to Toontrack. They update the instrument and the MIDI at the same time. And the cost of the upgrades are usually fair. But yeah, there will eventually be a version 3 of everything they sell. 😄
  20. This is part of the VSTBuzz "Summer of Sound Design" deal that has already been posted, but I just wanted to highlight this while the deal is still on. It is a great plugin and has never been this cheap AFAIK. I paid a lot more for it and it is one of my favorites. There's only about a day left so be quick if you're interested. Get it HERE
  21. ujam's IRON is $39 at Plugin Boutique. Check it out HERE
  22. Questionably Barbershop! 😄
  23. Most vocal libraries are solo vocals and choirs. Stuff like this that can work with more contemporary music is less common. Is that what you're asking about? Realivox Ladies is an old library, but nobody has really done it better since it came out. https://realitone.com/products/realivoxladies Realitone has a money back guarantee, so you can try it out, but wait for a sale on this. Realitone also has a cheaper lite version that only has less sounds. EastWest tried to do something similar to the Ladies with Voices of Soul. I think EastWest is a great company so I was looking forward to trying it out on Composer Cloud. But Wow! I was pretty stunned about what a total fail this is. I cannot believe that they would even release something like this. .The Soundbetter Singers is pretty also bad, but it's free https://realitone.com/products/realivoxladies Indie Voices from Splash Sound is a very small library, but if you wait for a sale it goes for $5 It is totally worth five bucks. https://www.splashsound.org/indievoices.html Some of the best contemporary vocals are in Omnisphere. Oldies but goodies. There are also some nice backup vocals in IK's SampleTank. But if you are looking for solo vocal libraries or choirs, then I would have a different answer. One library that is kind of in the middle is 8dio's The New Studio Sopranos. It has 9 singers, but you can use three at once. That's the way I like to use it. It is one of my favorite 8dio libraries. While it is pricey, it often goes down to around $78.
  24. This is very cool male vocal texture library for Kontakt. I usually only like female vocals, but this is right up my alley. https://ink-audio.com/products/ink-vocal Requires Full Kontakt. 2.69 gb. For full version of Kontakt 5.8 and above. UI controls include envelope, filter, stereo and reverb Kontakt Instruments for 12 vocal sounds and 23 time synced rhythmic patches for each vowel. Ah Ooh Short, Ah Ooh, Ah, Huh Short, Huh, Mmh Short, Mmh, Oh Ooh short, Oh Short, Oh, Ooh, Woah
  25. I tried it out for a few hours today and I'm very happy with it. It does what it says it will do. I like that it is still up to you to decide how you want to respond to what you see on the display, whether through EQ, side-chaining, or whatever.
