  1. Hey guys none of this matters - all that matters is that I got there before Larry ๐Ÿ˜‰
  2. Thanks Peter - I had a quick listen through to the Kontakt libraries and although there is some good stuff in there I wasn't overwhelmed - especially as I have IK TotalStudio 2 Max and several other libraries & synths. However, as you suggest, the main temptation is the free libraries. I'm a tight git money wise but I'll mull it over during the holiday and will probably bite - after all my New Years Resolution is likely to be to spend more time making music and less on Facebook and forums ๐Ÿ˜‰ Oh and drink less beer which would pay for Kontakt - that's how I justified buying TS2 Max ๐Ÿ™‚ - but only after drinking less beer!

  4. Ah damn - hadn't checked the T&C! I should have known from previous NI vouchers!
  5. Expires 31st December so I'll research further after Christmas!
  6. Can't see this one here. I don't seem able to post the link but head over to NI to find the voucher Cleverly it starts at a ยฃ90 spend - 50p more than a crossgrade to Kontakt7 so I would have to buy one of their ยฃ22 instruments / packs to get Kontakt cheaper. Pretty good deal though and I am increasingly tempted as Kontakt also includes two free Play Series (though I can't find much tempting in there!)
  7. Fair comment - I think some of us might have been (hopefully unnecessarily) worried about the way the thread might go I believe Mike is one of the good guys and I'm probably a bit over protective because of what I owe to his tutorials and the way he presents them. He has shown great candour in personal issues which I find warms me to him even more.
  8. I've been following DixonBeats for a couple of years now and not had any problems with spamming. He sends an email out when he has a new video up or (rarely) when he has some news. He has just done a huge giveway for reaching 80k YouTube followers and occasionally gives his own sample packs & VSTs away. One of the good guys in my opinion!
  9. Yes I'm eagerly looking forward to this year's gift. Got a few nice individual instruments with the voucher over last few years Re Spitfire - I think LABS dried up when Christian Henson left. He now has his own Crow Hill company and they have issued two free instruments so far. Piano and strings
  10. Thanks - shame that the Sine Free Instruments seem to have dried up
  11. Damn I didn't realise they were giving away limited numbers of licences this year otherwise I'd have been there! Having said that I haven't managed to figure out a previous version of Ostinato I got free yet!
  12. When I went to access the Beat magazine downloads last month I got a malware warning (from Malwarebytes Browser Guard I think). I can't imagine there would be a problem there but it frightened me off!
  13. Very sad news - great songwriter - terrible teeth RIP
  14. That's how they reel you in. You'll be reading Mein Kampf next and forecasting arctic blasts in June ๐Ÿ˜‰
  15. mmm - I have downloaded this but, although it appears in my library browser, there seems to be no presets there. Also I am pretty sure I downloaded a load of other free presets when I first got Analog Lab Lite but they don't appear to be there now. Haven't used it for ages so maybe I'm misremembering!
  16. Forgetful Dictator looks fun - have downloaded. Thanks!
  17. I didn't realise they were based in Huddersfield! Used to visit there often when we lived in Bradford.
  18. Happy to clarify I think it is highly unlikely that Sonar will become available for Mac as it would involve a huge amount of work - never say never though! Next has been written from initiation as a cross platform programme Enjoy Next - I haven't looked at it yet - got my hands full still learning Cakewalk by Bandlab! I'd be more likely to go across to Sonar if it is cheap enough or stay on CbB until it breaks through a Windows update.
