  1. Another interesting discovery. If you have a sample already loaded in a track or audio. After opening another track with Momentum, you can drag that sample from the other track into momentums mixer screen.
  2. Remember guys .. ITS FREE to check it out .. only commitment is an email address & password. After that if you dont like the software just uninstall it and move on & forget it. No big effort really
  3. Vocal Loops, full vocal track construction sets and the like is one area of SAMPLES and sampling I dont get. I realise they are all royalty free BUT a vocal sample or track with lyrics, melody is a track already done, how could you release it again? How could you chop, edit, effect it etc to make it your own? I dont see the point. At least with instrument samples you can chop and gut them to make them "original" .. Only vocal samples you might get away with in that terms is non lyric oohs, ahhs single words .. stuff like that
  4. I also have LOOPCLOUD. They work differently in that LC has a separate app outside CW which is linked via 3 plugins inside CW. LC has its own simple "DAW" with 8 tracks to load samples into and chop and mix and effect be that LC samples OR your own. Momentum is a VST plugin inside of CW where you can do pretty much the same. I prefer momentum for that because you are not swapping between CW and Loopcloud App. You can still use loopcloud at the same time OR use your loopcloud downloaded multiple samples inside momentum inside CW. Momentum is not just one time sample at a time. You can load and mix and chop and effect multiple samples at a time + set each to its own out similar to Kontakt. See images below - you can see the MIXER VIEW with multiple samples loaded ( drag/drop ) and then the SLICE VIEW to do your thing with each sample. On the MIXER it says MASTER, this is a drop down showing OUT2 to OUT16 Its way of doing time stretch is a bit different. You need to drag the midi data for each sample to a track in CW, then set your bpm to what you want in CW itself and the samples in Momentum will sync. The BPM inside momentum is the bpm of the loaded sample only it seems You can also see on the left is a STORE / MYFILES section. When you sign up with an account, a simple account and login to the VST with that you have option to download a 1.8GB FREE kit samples thing. In the SHOP it gives you option to buy BIG FISH AUDIO sample kits BUT thats OPTIONAL. Just drag and drop your own samples after that where ever they are from. I have had no popup adverts and no annoying flood of emails from BFA, but even if there were I think that would be fair based on fact this is a serious bit of FREE software.
  5. I reckon this IS the missing sampler for CAKEWALK I actually see no reason to buy Serato for this purpose .. in my opinion anyway. Momentum has so much more.
  6. A real interesting one with this sampler that I dont think SERATO has .. You can load multiple samples inside the Momentum VST and slice, effect, do what you like with them. You can also set EACH OF THE SAMPLES to own OUT other than MASTER. Once you have dragged the MIDI to a track you can continue to effect the sample and edit it inside Momentum while playing it looping in the CW track at what ever BPM you like, leaving the sample BPM as is INSIDE Momentum. The latter was what was throwng me originally
  7. JUST SORTED THIS ISSUE. Load up Momentum VST. Add your sample inside the plug .. LEAVE THE BPM inside the vst at the Bpm of the sample. Do what you wish to the sample/s. Once happy there is a MIDI icon right of the Sample name inside the SLICE window feature .. DRAG THAT TO A TRACK IN CAKEWALK. Now change the BPM in CW to what you like and it will accordingly time stretch to that BPM in sync Odd way of doing it .. but it works. Note in the image below the BPM is 100, thats the original BPM of the sample. BUT in CW i have set it to 80 and its syncing perfectly
  8. One thing I am noticing is that it doesnt seem to sync with DAW or time stretch if you change BPM. Maybe im not seeing something here ..
  9. https://www.bigfishaudio.com/momentum.html Thanks to @Xel Ohh for the tip on this. I installed it earlier and been noodling around with it for 2 hours. Works fine inside Cakewalk & Ableton. Could this be the FREE missing Sampler for Cakewalk? I think so, very nice features, try yourself .. The full walkthrough video at the link above is well worth a look This video also worth a look: SO what do ye think? Look forward to thoughts ...
  10. @ZincT Well you still have option of FREE ableton Lite Im the opposite .. I bought and tried Studio One back in 2017 or whenever things went skue ways with CW. I just was not getting on with it. Same with Samplitude. Ableton however worked for me, as i said particularly that SESSION view which I find great for building track ideas .. I like the visual way it works with the grid type thing. Pretty much how the MATRIX VIEW in CW should work but doesnt at the moment
  11. Yip .. I had 8, just upgraded to 10 and 11 free, thats what swung it. I wasnt using 8 because no vst3 support and tbh i found it sluggish and old. I do like it & did use it , particularly the Session View thing. I had not upgraded as I am using CW, but the 10 and then free 11 thing for the price was a no brainer from 8
  12. Having just went with ABLETON LIVE 10, 11 for free @ €97 I have to watch the bucks .. But it does seem to fill a gap for CAKEWALK sampler wise? Considering Ableton has the simple sampler / sampler instruments
  13. @Xel Ohh I think this one is a fav of yours Worth it at $49 ??
  14. OK OK I jumped for it ... To be honest if it was just 10 I probably would not have gone for it BUT the fact it includes 11 gratis, that was the thing that pushed me over the edge.
  15. Im teetering on the edge doing this upgrade to 10 standard ( I have 9 Standard ) which also gives me 11. I predominantly use CW but do have a soft spot for both Ableton and Reason. The Q is .. Is it worth the €97 to upgrade my 9 to essentially 11 .. I ask myself why would I spend the cash if I already am mainly using CW .. the fights that go on in our heads
  16. I assume this price will be it going forward? No further reduction for Black Friday?
  17. Very appealing considering you get 11 into the bargain when out in early 2021 I note they are adding CW stuff in 11 eg Take recording and comping https://www.ableton.com/en/live/
  18. So you can see whats in the Plug & Mix Bundle https://www.plugandmix.com/products/b888-VIP-Bundle/ Same price $49
  19. I am getting Audio Dropouts while doing something one might normally not do Just wondering can others try this and see if you get audio drop outs? Its just an experiment .. Load this VST to a track. Load the first patch in factory AAH. Load the PIANO KEYBOARD under Views / Virtual Controllers Now with the mouse hold down a "key" and just "scribble" back and forth, left and right across the keyboard just playing a mush of notes, left mouse button held down of course. In my case after 20 seconds or so the sound gets all glitchy, crackly and then AUDIO DROPOUT. I tried other vsts like this with no issue so far, inc Air Hybrid, Arturia stuff etc. I am on a core i5, 16gb Ram, 2TB Hybrid drive, Audient EVO 4 ( same thing happens with in built audio I/F )
  20. Music Tech and Sound on Sound also reduced ..
  21. Hey @ZincT .. change the title of thread to include the DCO? Seeming its also at 20 bucks over at everyplugin ??? Just a thought
  22. Thank You @ZincT ... I just bought it ... Over at Everyplugin ... still at $20.99 http://everyplugin.com/dco-106.html
  23. @ZincT Anyone have this?? https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/dco-106-polyphonic-synthesizer
  24. @ZincT I popped a message in above today about buying this as a LITE alt to the arturia .. see that msg above
