  1. Excellent work!!! Video, music (arrangement, instrumentation, vocals, mix, etc.) are top notch!
  2. Great work! I like this better than the original! I think that the vocals are great as is the key. They put your signature on this cover.
  3. For noodling around that is some good guitar playing. You have gotten great sounds from the TH3 --- clear, resonate and great tone. Very nice indeed!!
  4. Hi Bjorn, Thanks very much for the kind words and encouragement. They are very much appreciated! Hey Jesse. Thanks very much pal -- I was going for some grit! I have also used (not on this song) an an old VST plugin which has been upgraded to X64. It is the California Sun which a take on the old mid 1950's Fenders and it has a nice raw sound. Hi Hidden Symmetry. Thanks very much for listening and for the kind comments. I'm glad that you liked it!

Definitely cool visuals and fun song that keeps one listening. Well done!
  6. Hi Riff. Thank you you very much. I very much appreciate your comments. Hey Wookiee. Thank you very much pal!!! Hmmmmm, I have heard of "Blue Suede Shoes" but I wonder if there is such a thing as suede Blues shoes? Thanks again!!
  7. Just listened to #3 Jesse. Love it! We don't get much snow in central and south Florida (not impossible though). However, you provide some good advise to be followed for hurricanes. PACK UP AND GO!

What a nice song. Being old enough to remember, this song has a bit of that late 1960's - early 1970's feel to it. Your vocals are great and I love that bass! Cool song -- it had me smiling!!

    GOING SOUTH

I'm sorry to hear about your DYI incident and hope that you are on the mend! What a nice song! Your lyrics, instrumentation, and vocals are great! There are a few "idiosyncrasies" as mentioned above but given your talent I am sure you could quickly address them. Well done!!
  10. Excellent song, performance, video, production, etc!!! I rather liked the ending. Y'all are indeed standard setters! The only standards that you could exceed are your own. Did I mention that this was really excellent? Good luck on the new album!!
  11. The mix sounds good and you have presented some very good guitar playing. In fact all the instrumentation sounds great!!
  12. Love it! Since I have been listening to Latin American Afrobeat 5minutes and 17. this seems like a short song. That riff that plays panned right reminds me a bit of one similar in Devo's cover of Satisfaction. Lyrics and vocal really add to the music (or is it the other way around?). No matter --- I really enjoyed the listen. Well done!
  13. Not being a synth or MIDI guy, I didn't understand your description above. However, no matter! I loved the sounds and the mix sound very good! Nice!!!
  14. Hey Jeese. I listened to this one and Rice On The Church Steps. Loved them both!!! With Crosseyed I wasn't sure if this was about CoVid isolation, agoraphobia, or a vision problem -- or --- maybe --- something else. No matter, cool is cool and both songs were cool!!!
  15. Hi Steve. Some day I'll come out of "back in the alley" and come into the sunshine of the present. However, at least for now, I'm having too much fun in the alley. I have come to really like the Fender collection and in particular the Fender 1957 Deluxe. Thanks very much for taking the time to listen and comment! Hi Rik. Thanks very much for listening and taking the time to comment. I have always found, that even though the subject of a Blues song can be sad, I always feel better after listening. I believe that B B King always promoted the same idea. Thanks again!!
  16. First of all my apologies for be tardy with my responses. I have been dealing with contractors in having some repairs done to my house. These repairs were interrupted by Hurricane Ian. This caused a bit more of a delay but now have been completed (yea!!) Hi Dream Arts Scientists: Thanks very much for taking the time to listen and comment. Very much appreciated!! Hey John B. Thanks very much for your kind words. Although I was too young to understand it or really appreciate this kind of music, it is the music that I loved it at a very early age. I guess it was all that rhythm that grabbed me. There are a few pockets in the USA and particularly in the UK and Europe that appreciate this fossil music. YouTube has some great videos that shows relatively recent events where the oldsters and kids are digging the sounds. Thanks very much for listening and for the kind comments. Hi Nigel. Thanks very much and I am glad that you liked this number. BTW, I very much liked your recent post with the new sound! Hey Old Joad. I only wish I had access to their studio and some of the talent that played there. It would be a great learning experience! Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment!! Hey tom! Thanks very much for your kind words and for your encouragement!!! You are right! The frogman must be appreciated. Here is a link to Mr. Henry's song that was the inspiration for this song. Hi Lynn. Thanks for listening my friend. Thanks for the very kind words and encouragement. I'm looking forward to some new posts by you. Hi Lynn. Thanks for listening my friend. Thanks for the very kind words and encouragement. I'm looking forward to some new posts by you.
  17. You have captured that "Americana" style of song. Over all I think that you have a very good song. Perhaps a few tweaks mentioned above and it will be radio! I enjoyed it --- nice one!!
  18. Very nice indeed. You have a talented son! You have a right to be a proud papa!!

    Mourning Lilly

Welcome to the forum. This is indeed a nice tribute to your friend. I have lost 2 dogs who were indeed excellent friends. I would love to have another dog but I'm not sure that I could handle a 3rd loss. I am going to disagree with a couple of the comments above. This is indeed a dirge like song. If the tempo were increased too much, then it might lose that mournful quality. However, given my limitations and limited musical knowledge ---- well, maybe you might be better off in choosing to take their suggestions.

You never disappoint! You have a great talent for performing and producing "catchy" fun pop-ish songs. These are the kind of songs that you carry around in your head for the rest of the day after listening to them. Really good work Allan!!!
  21. I echo all of the positive comments above. The harmonies are great but it all works very well. Excellent work!!!
  22. I love the funky-ish Jazzy style of this song. That also is some pretty nice noodling. In fact, I would call it some doggone good guitar playing. The drums, in the beginning, really set this song off on a good track. Very nice indeed!
  23. I went way "back in the alley" to pull off this song. My inspiration was a song done back in 1956 called "Ain't Got No Home" which was done by Clarence "Frogman" Henry. I think that this song does not sound anything like the Frogman's but I did borrow from the concept or idea. Besides -- unlike the Frogman --- I can not sing like a girl or like a frog. However, I hope that I captured some of the fun and mood of of his song. It is a simple song with two rhythm guitars (chords and notes), another guitar for accents and the lead break, bass guitar, drums and vocals. I used the Amplitude 1957 Fender guitar amp in hopes of getting some of the grit that seemed to be present in the R & B guitar sounds of that era. For you old guys maybe you might remember Mr. Henry's original song (when you were a wee bit of a rug rat like me). For you young guys maybe it might introduce you to an R & B song that became a crossover hit. I have learned a lot from the comments, suggestions, crit.'s, etc. that I have received from y'all and would appreciate your input for this one. Thanks! 24. Hi Allan. How are you? It is a bit out of my range of styles but every once in a while one must try something different. Thanks very much for your kind words and encouragement. And Alice did indeed enjoy it. Thanks again.
  25. Hi Wookiee, Thank you my furry friend. I very much appreciate both comments!!
