  1. Best 7 minutes I can think of for a Behind the Music, a LOT of cameos!
  2. Never thought JY was all that special honestly, but Tommy has done other projects that shows off his talent.
  3. I went to a band called Spread Eagle last night that my old band had opened for in the early 90's. They had a very minor hit called "Switchblade Serenade". They were frickin' AWESOME last night and I realized even though the music is a little "sleazy", the reason I liked them is because the music, especially the solos, are more sophisticated than the average bear. But, I was really impressed by them 30 years later. Tight band with super-solid musicianship. Who have you seen in recent times that you were impressed still "had it"? Newer:
  4. @Rain when I see the KISS mug or other merch, I do the Gene "OH YEAH!?!" every time. I have so much KISS crap to sell this year. eBay is going to love me.
  5. I'd never use anything but the Pro version of Win10 or Win11. Home edition is just too restrictive. When you see the upgrade message, it will upgrade you to the same version you have (home, pro, enterprise).
  6. Melodyne has done that for me as well, but I would say that is more on them and not Microsoft. We all know there are going to be major updates.
  7. I know I can get tools, but I'm not rolling that out to an organization. Also, my company's line of business is NOT tech forward, so we're just making more work for our team. Once we blow through inventory, the new laptops will have to be 11, and thus, "fix the glitch".
  8. When I decided the company needed to migrate to 10 as the standard (primarily when hardware wouldn't support 7 anymore), we used Classic Shell. It was ok for a bit and then seemed to include malware - so we ditched it obviously. If you have to use a 3rd Party Tool to make the GUI usable for the masses, it isn't time to switch yet IMO.
  9. I did a bunch of benchmarks on my hardware and had no appreciable difference between 10 & 11, and 11 is just ugly to me with not a ton of options to unUGLYfi, so no reason to (Microsoft will continue to support at least one Windows 10 release until October 14, 2025). I have test machines at the office with it, and still don't like it after a few months ...but I'll get there.
  10. Intel is on Gen12 ...yours is a Gen6, so I wouldn't throw a ton of time/resources/money at it frankly.
  11. @Xel Ohh: do you know if you can just load a whole kit in to the 16 tracks? I can individually assign instruments/sounds, but didn't know if there is whole kits to load in.
  12. Same with me with programming, give me enough passes....
  13. Agreed. I'm in IT, and use this tool pretty often. MiniTool & Active Disk(for backups and imaging) are two of our "gotos".
  14. Gregg Rollie, but I think the they were referring to Arnel, in which case NOT as popular or better.
  15. I don't think they have! I'd say the same with Foreigner, Kelly Hansen sings the stuff great, but they are just emulating the singer that HAD the popular songs! Same with Styx, even though there is new music. Just cashing in on the legacy of the band's history IMO.
  16. 100%. The Real Thing was a GAME CHANGER. You could rock with keyboards. You could write about anything (like a baby's perspective). You didn't need a "look". I don't know if the album is in my top 5, but DEFINITELY in the top 10. Or to put it a different way, I'd take it on a desert island.
  17. Solid tune. Sounds great, not really anything I can pick out to improve on imo. Are you a drummer as well?
  18. I've said it before, but I am a HUGE fan of Devin Townsend and love his production style. I love little nuances that you can hear mostly when you are just listening in the dark or in the dark with headphones. I think Dream Theater and many modern bands like them all have the same productions IMO, and sometimes the "wall of sound" add mystique to a song. But that's the artist's(re: yours) decision if they want that. Often, it has to do with whether they can "reproduce it live" ....I never cared that if I can create an awesome song, if I would need backing tracks/more musicians for live. In my way of looking at it, I want to create a soundscape and am not concerned if that can be faithfully replicated live. The prog folk tend to be more of the "replicate faithfully with the band we have" type of people. I particularly like the YES album sounds btw. You never know what listeners may like in terms of production, simply meaning every thing that is old becomes new and that may be in fashion again at some point(like records and flip phones are today). Follow your muse and posts some samples, you know you'll get quality feedback here! Good luck!
  19. One thing I run in to CONSTANTLY is having ideas my ***** can't cash(primarily drums and keyboards). I used to be better with step sequencing, but I lost that ability over the years and have to work to get it back. And sometimes I just get in my own damn way and get analysis paralysis. I need to get friends or hired guns to get some parts done, but I moved 50 miles from where I was living, so I don't have the same network. I think my example is part of the reason people get in the Hall of Shame.
