  1. I use https://imgur.com/signin to upload and share images and gifs to share on my forum posts. It's free so far and I haven't ran out of space yet.
  2. Why not use Tracks > Bounce to Track(s) and select Split Mono format?
  3. OpenGL version and capacity make a difference for some plugins. A number of the iZotope plugins I have and other plugins will use GPU processing capacity when the graphics card OpenGL version equals or exceeds the minimum they are designed for. I think GPU capacity is mainly used by plugins with sophisticated GUIs to run more smoothly and reduce CPU loading when the GUI is open.
  4. I noticed that the video used both the 4K S-Type bus and channel compressors. Is there any particular reason for these particular selections for these particular examples? The controls on the two compressors are different. One has an Attack knob allowing continuous adjustment and the other a Fast/Slow toggle and the Bus versions has a Mix control that isn't used in the example. But to me it looks like either compressor might work in either example and the selection was arbitrary. Am I missing something?
  5. Did you change to "none," save, close and re-open? I'm not at my DAW right now, but I don't have that problem and don't think I ever have. I don't change individual channel meter settings. I use meter settings in the dropdowns to set all meters of a given category in track and console views. So I can't comment on that.
  6. It could be the Workspace you're using has different bus meter settings that get restored when you open the project. Save (update) the workspace before you close and see if that solves the problem.
  7. I think the Performance power plan is recommended for DAWs.
  8. I've been following this topic and wanted to chime in with a thank you for that comment. Like you I pro-actively check for and install updates manually to avoid "transparent updates." I've always worried that I might be assigning causation where it didn't exist because my paranoia was clouding my judgement on this. But, for as long as I can remember, I've frequently noticed that when apps (not just Cakewalk) stop working or become unresponsive out of the blue resulting in me shutting down or restarting out of frustration to give it a fresh go, I'll get that "install updates and shutdown" or "install updates and restart" dialog and realize that the Windows "transparent update" feature really doesn't work and never has.
  9. I think the notes stay with the project and include statistics and status information provided by Cakewalk.
  10. Thanks John. I'll probably do that and then delete this project and verify that the source files in the project have not been modified or deleted. I don't believe this has ever happened to me before. I'm going to report it as a bug. Bill
  11. You are correct! Thank you for setting me straight. I was staring straight at it and mis-read the folder name. So to me this is a bug and I'll report it. This project is supposed to copy audio to the project audio folder and it didn't. That's scary. I could inadvertently modify source audio files corrupting the source file. Bill
  12. Where are the two audio files recently imported into the project shown in the GIF? Explorer is not showing the two files (last two in project shown in GIF) in the project Audio folder even though the Associated Audio Files popup shows that they are in the Audio folder. I've saved, closed and reopened the project but they are still not there. This is a new problem for me that I don't recall ever experiencing before and it worries me. I don't want changes made in this project to affect audio files in the project the audio was imported from but at this point I don't know where those audio files actually are. They have to be somewhere because they load when I reopen the project.
  13. Here's what I did having learned what I needed to do from @Promidi: I found and watched How to clone NVMe SSD to new or larger NVMe SSD (Easy Step by Step Tutorial) I purchased the NVMe External Case recommended in the video and a Crucial P5 1TB NMVe I also downloaded and installed Macrium Reflect Free disk imaging software recommended in the video. Following the instructions in the video I cloned and replaced my existing 250GB NVMe SSD with the 1TB NVMe. For me the instructions in the video for extending the System (C:) partition didn't work because of the 500MB Recovery partition following the System (C:) partition. So, I purchased and downloaded EaseUS Partition Manager that @Promidi uses and followed Instructions on EaseUS website to move and extend the system drive. I found videos showing deleting the recovery partition and showing manually imaging and moving the recovery partion but decided to use EaseUS instead. Hope this is useful to others with the same problem. Thanks again @Promidi. A screenshot of my replacement 1TB disk 3 including the extended (C:) drive is attached.
  14. The ER did not resolve my crash problem (Case #647363), which according to the crash popups is caused by the PC4K S-Type Bus Compressor. I've responded to the case this morning verifying that the problem is not solved and attaching crash dump files for this mornings crash.
  15. I deselected "Left Click Sets Now" and selected "Right Click Sets Now." It's awkward and I'm still getting used to it but so far it seems to be helping me make selections without changing the Now time.
  16. @Promidi thank you very much. I'm going to give that a try once I select a new NVMe drive.
  17. Thanks. This sounds like a good approach. However, I've tried (though not recently) and don't recall ever successfully using imaging software; but I'm certainly willing to give it another try. I do have some questions: 1. Does the imaging software create the 100 MB EFI System & 500 MB Recovery partitions on either side of the System partition? 2. Will it work with NVMe drives? If yes, looks like I'll need an external M.2 to USB adapter which seem to be available and affordable. I only have two M.2 NVMe slots, the system drive slot on the MB and the F: drive on a PCIe card. 3. Will it maintain the complete registry along with the AppData, Program Data and Documents files required for the 300 programs to work? 4. Can you recommend a Imaging software product?
  18. It appears that I need to upgrade my System Drive (Studio (C:). Is there any way to do that without reinstalling Windows and the 300 programs I have installed? Or if not what's the best way to minimize the effort? What I'm planning is to replace the NVMe drive on my ASUS X99-DELUXE II MB with a larger, probably 1TB version. I'd just like to make that as efficient and painless as possible. I'd like to keep the System on the MB NVMe for performance reasons. A couple of ideas I have that might help: Add or upgrade one of the two existing SSD drives and temporarily transfer the system to that that drive and then back to the new NVMe. Upgrade the existing NVMe (F:) drive installed on a PCIe board and temporarily transfer the system to that drive and then back to the new NVMe. I'm also soliciting suggestions for freeing up space on the existing System drive, but I don't believe that there's anything on this drive that can be moved or deleted. I built this PC myself back in 2016 and at the time the 250 GB BPX NVMe (which measures as 222 GB) seemed like a good idea. However, since then I've installed lots of programs mostly Cakewalk related and they tend to polk lots of data in the Program Data (53 GB), and User AppData (5 + 20 GB) and Documents (25 GB) folders. Other Drives: (See screenshot 3). F: Cakewalk projects and audio files G: Cakewalk recording content and 3rd party plugins and media (but Cakewalk and other programs have installed some stuff on the System drive) H: Local OneDrive storage but most files are cloud only O: No Internet dual-boot (no longer in use) P: No Internet dual boot Cakewalk recording content and 3rd party plugins and media (no longer in use) Thanks for any suggestions.
  19. Looks like you weren't asking a question but were setting the stage for your mpc spiel. Did you get paid for that?
  20. Could it be that fast start (probably not the correct name) is enabled allowing your PC to restart quickly most, but not all, of the time? If fast start is enabled, you should probably disable it. It can cause serious problems.
  21. Thanks. A picture is worth a 1000 words.
  22. The translator may be a big contributor to the communication difficulties here but we're stuck with it. I'm going to attempt to summarize your concerns and respond to them again hoping that it might help. I'm not a Cubase user either, but I did read through this whole thread. It's clear to me that, in Cakewalk, several track outputs or sends can be sent to a single bus or aux track in one operation. It appears that Cubase provides the same functionality for group tracks. Same function, different name. I don't see a difference. You can do the same thing on the aux track or bus. What do you mean by "all tracks closed"? Are you using the Track or Console view? In either view press the H key to display a track manager that will allow you to choose which tracks are shown. If you are using Console view, click on the arrowhead in the ProChannel field to open/close the ProChannel. You can use quick groups to open/close ProChannel for a group of tracks. Select the tracks that you want to open/close ProChannel for. Then with Ctrl depressed click on the ProChannel arrowhead in one of the selected tracks. Then use aux tracks as the Cakewalk equivalent of Cubase group tracks. Give it a try it works in either Track or Console view. Select the tracks you want to group. Then with Ctrl depressed click in the output or on the send + on one of the selected tracks and choose new aux track at the destination .
  23. I'm guessing this rant was intended for your blog and not this forum. Suggest you move it there.
  24. Is it impacting CbB or instrument performance? If not, maybe it's ok as long as the Documents folder is marked to always on this PC and you don't have more than one PC using the same OneDrive account. Hopefully by now OneDrive Support has an FAQ for getting Documents backup off of OneDrive. In my case, I think I had to disconnect my PC from OneDrive and reconnect it without Documents backup, but I'm not sure.
