  1. Virginia just legalized it. Who knew?
  2. This whole thread just serves to upset me.
  3. I love playing my friend's Tele with the ashtray and none of my guitars have something close. It's so cool having an impediment to string damping. It makes you play differently. I can rest my hand on the silver bar on my Gibson, but it's too far back. It's not the same. Just for the ashtray, one day I'm going to have to own a tele. Until then, I keep "forgetting" my guitar when I go jam at my friend's place.
  4. You don't have to change any eqing on the tracks. Throw one on the bus, put a band in the right range and automate the gain. This makes volume changes less noticeable while still letting the vocal and lead shine. Once you have added the gain envelope for the eq band, you can just select the range for the vocal piece, right click the envelope and choose add nodes. Ctrl click the range between the nodes and drag it down. Next, add slopes to the change to make it more subtle... Listen...
  5. I think i won a prize in second grade for my leaf collection. Since then it's been downhill.
  6. I recommend eq automaton instead. It's a little tedious but this isn't live anyway. The best you can do live is the compressor. But you can notch eq before the singing or lead playing starts and that doesn't suppress all of the signal, just the part competing with the vocals... Also, when the vocal or lead is softest you need to suppress more not less.
  7. That rig looks like tons of fun!! I have one of those FCB1010s too and it's great for giving me stomps for pedals in Guitar Rig apps like THU or Guitar Rig. I'd never considered using it to control an Eventide H9 (or 2!) or an eleven rack. I must say, I'd love to come over and play!

    My devices/interface

Total reset and W are your friends in total mix. While it has not misbehaved, there have been times i couldn't explain what it was doing until later. Hit w... save in a slot... Total reset... All fixed. 😁 . Later you can investigate the problem you had. ... Also, i have some stuff too, but during covid i don't get to use it the way i like. I've been using my c414 or royer ribbon Mic to just record me practicing. I have learned some things about my gear during covid. I'm guessing a lot of people have been doing serious wood shedding during covid. I can't wait for this to be over. Tons of friends are straight up gigging. I'm jealous but i keep staying home.
  9. I have nothing to compare it to, but i have a Rivera rock crusher. Super fun toy but i don't take it out. I wish I'd gotten it ten years earlier. I enjoyed looking at all these other options. I don't need cab Sims... I could do those in the box if i wanted to. I never use more attenuation than minus 20dB. I don't like being able to hear the guitar strings over the amp. When i get that low, i use headphones. I really never go direct to the daw without micing. I need the practice with the Mic... Finding good placement. The richness of a cranked up tube amp can't be beat.
  10. Usually titles draw copy right claims to low view count videos. Yes, playing a cover exposes you to claims. It doesn't matter if you get a claim unless you are trying to get paid or they take it down.
  11. Thanks Keni. I got it straight. I think it may be that Google was no longer letting them auto-authenticate me for some reason.
  12. All the best. Sorry to hear it.
  13. Yay Bill. Cheering for you!

  15. Lol. I heard when we started building big dams around the world, ocean levels were measurably impacted. Science is cool. There is a book called weather for dummies i want to read.
  16. You all need one of Craig anderton's cables with the red leds soldered on. He calls it a transient tamer. I made one. Works like a charm. Also, guitar pickups are hotter than mics which is why the cables can be unbalanced. It's surprising but true. Nice preamp and compressor chains always help, but the transient tamer guitar cable helps more and costs like usd $2 if you can solder. Yes, i do own a Rupert neve preamp, but when i play direct i don't find it necessary to use it when using the transient tamer. When playing into an amp, you don't want to use a transient tamer cable.
  17. You should be able to replicate this playing the track in real time. It's very likely something some where is clipping. If not, I'm with @Kevin Perry on trying to disable the 64 bit double precision but this was a fix like 10 years ago to stuff. Idk if it matters now. I think it's almost never that I use a 32 bit plugin. Check the red lights on all your pro channels during play back. If they ever blink red, fix it.
  18. Interesting, Kevin. You're right it seems. You have to loop it back in through your interface to do the trick. I achieved it by sending the output of the compressor to a looped back channel and then the input of that channel to the sidechain. This did the trick. Curious that it isn't allowed easily but it's easy enough to work around if you really want it. I can do it with my hardware compressor too. It just never occurred to me as an option. Makes sense to use some EQ on the signal too to highpass it if you feel like it.
  19. to eliminate external dependencies, literally loop it back to the interface and see if you see the signal coming back in.
  20. Last time I rode I had to get my elbow screwed back together. 😞 (well, not the last time... the last time as far as my wife knows. That skateboard is just balanced between the supports... it lifts off and rides just fine.)
  21. She is. 🙂 Turned 18 last week. You got a long road ahead, bit.
