  1. Welcome to the forum. Press P on the computer keyboard. What is listed and selected for Playback and Recording Timing Masters? What is your driver mode? You may have something selected that isn't compatible with Cakewalk.
  2. But seriously, Happy Birthday Bapu!! I hear 70 is the new 80.
  3. Oops. Didn't read it until Wednesday.
  4. Just ordered a set of Sennheiser HD 280 headphones and a pair of MIDI cords. The AKG K52's I bought just a few years ago are already shedding the cover from the earmuffs. Plus, I was never happy with the standard 3.5 mm connector with the 1/4" adapter. That is also getting a little loose. Bad on me for not checking before I bought them, but I expected a 'studio' headphone to not have to use an adapter in the studio. At GC, the Sennheisers were the least expensive headphones with a standard 1/4" plug. Got good reviews, though. A little like when I was searching for a MIDI keyboard a few years ago. None of the lower cost examples had MIDI jacks, just USB. I prefer the MIDI cables. I'm happy with what I got, but it was more than I wanted to pay at that time. Thank Goodness for credit! Oh, did you hear it is Bapu's birthday today? 🧁
  5. I resent that implication. I have graduated to old age, as have... others on this forum.
  6. Several times. I heard Hush the other day and reminded me of their lead singer before Gillan. Rod Evans?
  7. I see there is a 'Mix' button on the front of the interface. On many devices, this balances the playback from the computer with the sound being recorded. If it is turned too far one way or the other, you'll only hear part of what you need to hear. What position is the Mix button in when this happens? Try rotating it back and forth to see if you start getting sound.
  8. That person's last visit here was in Oct. of 2020. I don't think you will get an answer. Try a new post outlining your specific problem and maybe someone can help you. Welcome to the forum.
  9. I wonder if they're an American company and know what getting the clap means?
  10. Did it in 5 clicks. Two tracks selected/soloed. Hit Tracks above, Bounce to Tracks. Make sure Entire Mix (main outs) is selected, or your Master bus. Hit OK. Try that and see if you get the results you want.
  11. That could be a problem. I have always 'played' in the MIDI melody and then typed the lyrics. I have read here that you can drag an audio track into either Melodyne or into the timeline? and extract MIDI from that. No experience. Once the lyrics are in the Staff View, you can open them in the Lyrics View. In SHS 6, anyway.
  12. I don't know, but you can automate the track panning. Someone else may know more later. Welcome to the forum.
  13. After 2 and a half years I finally installed my Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 third generation interface on this computer. Looking forward to recording some new music in the next few years. 😁
  14. What do you want to know? I often insert lyrics and they seem to scroll in time to the song correctly. I don't know where a tutorial might be, I just went by the Help files for SONAR Home Studio 6 many years ago and that worked. Search forum member John Vere AKA Cactus Music; he wrote a bunch of tuts and maybe he has one for lyrics.
  15. I wonder if I can eat this entire cake?
  16. In my experience, libraries are folders full of samples which are loaded into players and thus don't require scanning. They are typically dragged into a sample player or synth from their folder.
  17. Check out Bouncing, Rendering and Exporting in the Help files. Probably more ways to do it, too.
  18. Welcome to the forum. First some info from you. How is the kit connected to the computer? Direct via USB? With MIDI through an interface? Telekinesis? 😆 If by USB, did you have to download a driver for the cable and was it recognized by Windows and Cakewalk? If through an interface, did you download and install the proper drivers for that interface? Were they recognized by Windows and Cakewalk? The kit must play through a MIDI track. What input options do you have for your MIDI tracks? They should be the USB cable or the interface. Is the MIDI track's output set to the VSTis input? It seems like you may know much of this, so let us know what you've tried already and maybe we can offer some more ideas.
