  1. Please, we need to be a little more precise in what is being requested. Some past conversations have been, shall I say, rather spirited regarding what a sampler is supposed to do. How do you want a Cakewalk sampler to work ?
  2. I left a comment supporting the idea of making a series of video tips. This video was very informative.
  3. When I previously visited the Bandlab website and tried to use the online DAW, I received an error message stating the online DAW requires Chrome. I use Firefox so I figured if they can't support my browser, why bother. Recently I tried again and the online DAW works seamlessly with Firefox. A big thumbs up to Bandlab for broadening their browser support. Bandlab has an online Cakewalk community. The community has a small number of members but very few messages have been posted. I've listened to a few songs members have posted. I've found some that I think I would be interested in collaborating with but I'm still feeling my way around. As an aside, I've downloaded a baritone guitar soundpack that may prove interesting to play with. I'm still learning but Bandlab seems to have a lot to offer, you just have to find someone you'll feel comfortable approaching.
  4. The automated answer to your problem is to record your audio snippets as broadcast wave files. Broadcast wave files is an extension of standard wav files. Metadata and time code data is embedded in the snippets. Time code is a timeline so importing all should automatically align to the timeline. Many DAWs and some hardware recorders can export audio files in the BWF format. Broadcast Wave Format Wikipedia Article
  5. If you use a wireless mouse, try replacing the mouse's battery. I have a wireless mouse that becomes erratic in one program. I've learned it's an early warning signal that it's time to change the battery.
  6. John, Basic is nice. Thanks for creating this video series.
  7. Bandlab Technology also decided to keep the Sonar Command Center servers active so Sonar product owners can continue to have access to the Sonar products they've purchased and to archive the Sonar forum for reference.

    Monkees cover

Thanks for sharing the link. I listened to all three songs and all three are so well done. From a production standpoint I'd say this song is likely one of the more difficult Monkees songs to mix.
  9. I recently discovered the online Bandlab DAW is compatible with my internet browser of choice, Firefox! Previously when I would visit Bandlab I would receive an error message that my browser was not compatible and to please try Chrome. Now, the website connects. Thank you Bandlab Technologies for making the Bandlab website more inclusive. I've been having fun learning more about what I've been missing.
  10. We'll really never know until he returns and provides more information.
  11. As screen resolutions keep getting finer it would be nice to be able to adjust the Arranger font to suit the users need. Since the Arranger bar is a new feature perhaps the Arranger font size is something that can be added to the Theme editor.
  12. @Gaseous G, thanks for asking the question. I've often wondered about this myself. As you mentioned it's a handy editing tool and very prominent in the analog world of reel-to-reel tape decks and hardware based DAWs. But evidently not so prominent in the software DAW. It's a shame you asked the question in the forum's Tutorial section instead of the forum's Question and Answer (Q&A) section. @Eric Brad, thanks for the answer and the documentation link. I can't wait to try using it. Hopefully Cakewalk by Bandlab has had enough "fixes" applied to not crash from my beginner effort. However, Bakers beware! I know how to capture a crash file and report it to Support.
  13. Always nice to see two YouTubers I follow work together to create a video where I learn something new. Way to go Robert and X. E.L.Ohh. Robert, the 5S video series is a great concept. Please keep it up. 5 minutes is a lot easier to find than the extended time many videos require.
  14. Great suggestion. I wish the suggestion was made a long time ago. Incorporating the JAWs screen reader into Cakewalk by Bandlab would be a feat that really sets this DAW above the rest. It would also support Bandlab's educational effort too.
  15. Very good sounding cover of one of my favorite songs. I'm listening on cheap headphones and it sounds balanced. The arrangement reminds me more of the Beegee's cover from the Sgt. Pepper movie soundtrack than the original. The lady from Bandlab and yourself do an incredible job on the vocals. Bravo, bravo! More, more!
  16. Is there a link or discussion anywhere to find out what features are being added to Bandlab Assistant?
  17. Don't get discouraged. It takes time, a plan and consistency to build an audience.
  18. Wow, This thread is now up to six pages of posts. Who would have ever thought you would be creating so many video tutorials! Congratulations.
  19. 👆👆👆👆 THIS 👆👆👆👆 There seems to be a belief that you can't be professional grade unless you're cross platform.
  20. @S Roy Choudhury, Firmware is the operating system inside the Audient ID22 hardware. Firmware defines how everything about the Audient ID22 works. The Audient ID22 uses an automated system to verify the hardware firmware is up-to-date or update the firmware as needed. Look at page 10 of the Audient ID22 manual for a complete description. I suggest starting with this YouTube playlist. The playlist is specific to Cakewalk by Bandlab. Even though the playlist is about two years old the videos are well organized. I'm very glad you asked the question and started the conversation.
  21. @S Roy Choudhury, Thank you for your reply. You have a very good, kind and generous friend. Audient makes some great audio interfaces. Please visit their product support website to verify the interface is running current firmware and you have the latest audio interface driver. You want to do what I would consider traditional recording. Cakewalk does that really, really good. In this (Tutorials) section start at page 6 (the oldest posts) and work your ways to the newest posts. When this forum first began there were a lot of posts about how to get started with Cakewalk.
  22. Way to go John! Short, sweet, informative works every time. Good subject.
  23. When it comes to installing an audio interface or the act of recording the steps are identical for both Sonar and Cakewalk. The Creative Sauce video linked to earlier demonstrates the same information as the Sonar video. The difference is the Creative Sauce video was created after Sonar's name change to Cakewalk. How To Use Cakewalk is another good video. If I may, what kind of audio production do you want to do, electronic beat generation or recording?
  24. I would like to see a Bandlab sub forum "tied in" with the Bandlab Help Center as described by @Mike B . At the very least the sub forum would provide a support point of access for Bandlab. There are many users in this forum that enjoy helping others. However I feel a little illiterate and helpless when I think I've encountered a question about the online DAW and social media platform., Bandlab. Having a sub forum here would also provide a common location where users of Bandlab's offline and online DAWs can learn about each other. I agree with the idea to call the offline DAW Cakewalk and the online DAW Bandlab. Presently there is not enough distinction between the two product names which creates confusion in conversation and internet searches.
  25. Welcome to the forum and to Cakewalk by Bandlab! The first thread in this section, "Getting Started", by Morton Saether is the first thread in this section and is a wonderful place to start learning about Cakewalk by Bandlab. This thread includes links to a series of videos that will help you learn Cakewalk step-by-step. Audio Production Beginners is a thread about resources to help beginners learn audio production. Good luck and have fun learning!
