Bandlab is the one I'm using now.  I doubt CWHS2004XL would even be compatible with Win 10.  Last time I used CW was on a Win XP PC in the mid 2000s.   I was just saying that I used to be able to do that in CW as a reference point to explain what I had done and would like to be able to do the same thing here in BL.  With all of the upgrades from CW in 2004 it would seem that it should be able to be done with BL as well.

Bdickens question is still out there.

..."and would like to be able to do the same thing here in BL." HERE is NOT BL=Bandlab, which is an online daw you use with your webbrowser.

in songs i posted a song and found out later i needed tp remix it.i still don't know how to remove it.thanks.jack c.

@jack c. Ok. I acknowledge that it's a bit hard to delete a video because it have more layers than only text.

What to do is, as said, click on the EDIT. It's at the bottom of the post to the right of the plus mark and the text "Quote".

When it open in edit mode it asks for the reason of your edit. You can skip that. It will edit any way.

Click under the lowest of the videos. You should see the blinking text marker. Now use your backspace key multiple times to see videos disappearing.

When the videos is gone you click save.

You can also use edit again to go back in and put another video in there.

PS. I use edit a lot so i have put my reason as Addition. Another time as Correction. You just have to fill it in once. Next time you only click in the reason field and choose one of them.

  3. Do you perhaps mean Bandlab online published songs?

If it is on this forum you go to your post with the song and edit it.

You can delete everything in your post. Maybe replace it with the word "removed" because the post itself can not be deleted. Only a forum admin can do that and they usually avoid deleting posts.

hey everyone, I was searching through for free plugins and could only find the basic stuff however what I'm interested in is finding any Leads, Electric Piano, Electric drum kit and some more great sounds that are free which I can use for producing my songs.

I know I'm being really picky and I'm aware there is not much great stuff when we talk about FREE plugins and i'll need to buy some in the coming future. I just started playing in cakewalk and getting started in Music but only finding the basic drums basic guitar and basic pianos in free plugins is very restricted to the genres I wanna explore producing with this Daw.

So please let me know if you guys have found some free plugins with leads or electric instruments or something that better than basic or pre-installed instruments.

    thanks :)

What all this nice people don't tell you is where does the free vst plugins come from.

So mean little me give it a try.

Many of them turns up in this other forum first: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=b522a69f26c1ecfe74a0dc92bae75f68

KVRaudio is where a lot of the plugin developers hang.

This came out only a couple of days ago and is mentioned there: https://yofiel.com/audio/husserl2.php

I PAID £18.00 and some change. I've never found these things very helpful in the past, too much EDM feel, BUT!, I think this might actually rival dare I say, BIAB?... LOL... we'll see!. I have a very nice collection of stuff I can throw it at, I might finish that opus of mine. If not, I didn't pay a whole lot, just uninstall.

I would say it generates more random notes than Biab does.

However Biab have no limit on how many bars you work with.

As to my own question about chord mode track. It does only change when you change the factory preset. It stays unchanged within that preset. Some preset don't have a pattern for certain modes. I had one that was missing a riff mode pattern but selecting that track and generate a pattern worked fine.

A song is usually made up of repeated parts ( EG Intro, Verse1, Chorus, Verse2, chorus, Bridge, chorus Chorus ).

So the 10 bars you talk of would be enough for a VERSE which, as a part,  will be repeated 2 or 3 times. Then you need a Chorus ( repeated ) and a Bridge, maybe an intro

Surely with Insta Composer ( from my viewing of the run through vid above ) you can start with your 10 bars, save that "pattern" then noodle around with the features to make a different part based on the initial 10 bars and so on.

Any of these programs are not meant to build a song / hit for you from start to finish. They are for ideas to spur you on and at minimum help you to find nice chord sequences that sound well together

Yes...you noodle and noodle with the part and at last you get something that sounds good.

But it doesn't fit with the first part. So you noodle again and you get the first and second part sounding good but the third part now needs noodling. And you haven't started with the fourth part yet. 🥰

  7. I have had it play pretty beautiful compositions on the available bars and i would say it also depends on what softsynths you feed with it. And what mode that synth has to represent.

Someone know why the chord mode track is so reluctant to change the pattern? No matter if you do "generate all" or generate that one track.

  8. Hmm...works fine with Cakewalk. Fun but limited.

It is another one where you generate only a tiny portion of a possible song. When you only have, lets say, 10 bars with something sounding good you still need 110 bars to fill for a full song.

I'm hoping ORB producer with its chaining blocks have a 50% black friday sale.

  9. I belong to the group of people that reads the manual first. Experiment second. Search in books and nowadays googling.

Sometimes i'm nice and sometimes i'm rough. I go with my feeling and this gave the feel of a person that tries to be spoonfed without any real need for it.

So i was rough... suck it up babies.
