I was under the impression the point was to own them all and then never actually use them?

I don't think I've used Synthronik 1 after getting all of it in the group buy.  If nothing else having to pay for the redownload of content and HD space later on when I do want to use in on a future machine.

This is me exactly.   Of course, I've also really soured on IK recently

I knew this would come up and it's really not the point.  The point is that a library that lists for $1,500 should be more Kontakt Player
friendly.  I don't care if their 8DIO Libraries aren't Kontakt Player, but the V8P ones, at the regular price, should be.

    Was just trying to help...

Yes Antler...that's the reason.  I want to be able to look over, and scroll down if necessary, to get to my libraries.
I'm not fond of having to open file manager, navigate to the library directory, open that, then open the instruments,
folder, and find what I'm looking for...so that's exactly the reason!

Have you looked into using the QuickLoad feature in Kontakt?  It is designed just for this.  It only takes a few minutes to build out, and it is a lifesaver.   I have everything in there now - I actually never look at the Library tab anymore.

Is that even possible?  Guess I'll find out soon enough.

The problem is that each mag seems to have its own URL to download.  At least in Filesolo, you could log in and see what you had already unlocked.  No way to do this now.

I could put up with the slow log in and downloads on Filesolo, but at least you only had one place to go.  (To me) this is actually far worse.

For reference, consider Apple after Steve Jobs left, and the Apple after he returned...

I'm no Apple fan (quite an Apple and Steve Jobs "hater" actually), but no one can argue that he did not have an incalculable affect on that company and technology as a whole.

  6. Bumping this topic, as I just picked up a StreamDeck.  Sometimes being the head IT guy has its advantages - "Hey, I think we need to look at these - I'll pick one up and test it at home."

On a serious note, this thing is really cool.  Still trying to work out the difference between Midi and Shortcuts, but I'll get there.

Has anyone found a good free music or Daw related icon sets?

  7. My experience with Sweetwater has not been good.  As a matter of fact, I purposely try to avoid them because of my experiences.  When I first purchased from them, I was assigned a "Sales Engineer" whose sole purpose seemed to try to upsell me.  In addition, he (quite honestly) didn't know a thing about synths (and I'm a synth guy).   It didn't really matter much to me, as I do my own research.    A year or two later, my wife and I decided to take a little vacation and head to Cedar Point in Ohio, then head to Nebraska for a few days.  I had heard amazing things about the place, so I talked my wife into driving a few hours out of the way to stop by.  I made contact with my SE, and we set a time for me to visit.  I reconfirmed with him the day before.

We arrived at the appointed time, and went in and asked the receptionist for him.  She told me that he wasn't there, and should be back in a bit.   I wasn't really happy, but  I figured something may have come up, and he would be back.  We waited around for two hours, just sitting on our thumbs.  No one else there bothered to say anything to us, apologize, or anything.  I was pissed.   We finally just left.

I emailed him that night, and the next day I received an email back from him that said he forgot.  No apology, nothing.   A few weeks later, I tracked down someone else at Sweetwater and asked for a new SE.  This guy was not happy that I was asking for someone else, even though I expressed all my issues with "my guy."

Since that time, I've been bounced around to a handful of SEs, and not a one of them has really taken any interest.

Like I said, I purposely avoid Sweetwater if possible.

And when playing these instruments (in realtime) you don't get more audio drop-outs/perf meter spikes compared to C11?

If you answer no, are you using MIDI Remote?

    Sorry for all the questions...

No, and no on Midi Remote.
