  1. They've just added Arranger Track which is rather on the major side, so it's not like Cakewalk is stagnating for me and the bugfixes are invaluable. I realize people would like to see some major additions like for example composition tools. But lets take, say, a chord track - with so many great Scalers and Instachords out there already, they would have to be working really hard on it and the effect still wouldn't be competitive enough probably. If I had to decide, I would prefer to spend this time on updating the audio/MIDI routing in Cakewalk instead, to make it more clean and simple so we could use those 'scalers' and 'instachords' the easy way and focus on the music. OTOH some tools are difficult to replace with 3rd party plugins so yes, a keyswitch manager would be very welcome. Also new/updated editing tools that can make the work more smooth.
  2. No, when you're in clips (parent track, focus to clips) even with no automation and all lanes closed, when you Ctrl+click and drag (up/down) in the bottom half of the clip itself, this is how you create the clip gain envelope (no Volume, Automated Mute, etc, just Clip Gain), it becomes visible and you can drag the whole thing up or down this way. Just need to remember to be working in the bottom half of the clip. (EDIT: unless it's something else in the envelope lanes, then idk. ) To be able to make fine automation adjustments, as a workaround, I just maximize the track/lane height. It does help.
  3. it works only when you click on the lower half of the clip
  4. Here are the steps exactly (but there's no a perfect solution): 1. Ctrl+A to select the whole project 2. Go to menu Process>Length 3. Make sure 'Start Times' and 'Durations' are checked 4. Input 150 Percent and click OK 5. Change tempo to 180 6. Set 'Now Time' at the beginning of bar 3 7. Go to menu Project>Meter/Key Signature 8. Input 'Beats per Measure': 12 and 'Beat Value': 8 9. Make sure that 'At Measure' says 3 and click OK 10. In Staff View go to menu View>Display Resolution and choose 1/8 You should be almost there now, except that the thrills are not behaving properly (common problem for me in Cakewalk). In that case you have two ways to deal with it. A. Remove thrills and leave just the note B. Revert to Display Resolution>16, select all notes (ctrl+A) BUT unselect (hold ctrl+right click to drag a lasso over the notes) only the notes that are thrills and passages (basically anything that's not an eight note), then click 'Q' to open quantize window, select Duration 1/8, make sure Start Times and Note Durations are checked, set Strenght to 100% and click OK - now you can manually shape the thrills and passages to match their corresponding note lengths and quantization (from what I see some notes are 16th or 16T) hope that helps yeah I know... there's always some work to be done, no perfect shortcuts
  5. I think you have to scale the length (both starting times AND duration) of all events in your project by 150%, in addition to the meter change.
  6. Woohoo! So did the Space Delay deliver? My concern is the CPU hit, can you use it freely across the tracks? Let's see... I saw on IK youtube channel there's also a live stream planned for this evening, devoted to Space Delay. Thanks Zo!
  7. Did you fill out everything? I skipped the dropdowns and it let me through.
  8. Registered for the free version but no email back, not in the spam either. Anyone got it?

    AIR Hybrid FREE

LOL! Maybe I'll be able to cancel my Sonar Lifetime Updates order...? Too late, I think 🤣
  10. That was pretty quick Larry, good job! 😂 But something's still not quite there, plz try harder, we need more discount!
  11. Thanks. That's probably in automation lane? Because on the track itself, when working in focus to clips, when clicked on the bottom half, it's changing the clip's gain. But, unfortunately, always the whole envelope regardless any selection within the clip 😭😭 EDIT: sorry I misread your post, I mean Ctrl, not Shift... didn't see any change when using shift in automation lane either
  12. That 'Create a Tempo Curve' is brilliant idea! Another handy tempo feature I'd gladly welcome is to smooth-out the changes. I recently created tempo map from a loosely played strummed guitar, using 'Set Measure/Beat at Now' on every beat. Turned out the changes were all over the place, they kinda stuck close to the target tempo but was constantly up and down. Any tempo based effects did literally freak out just each next beat. The proper smoothing-out in my understanding would calculate a perfect (average/balanced) curve from all the changes, denying the need of wonky tempo jumps every beat
  13. What is the shortcut plz? I typically maximize track height for fine adjustments.
  14. Definitely! Once cakewalk became a free product more people will start using it - that was my initial argumentation. Now is time to give him some reasons people ! I think his plugins are excellent on their own and he probably should be fine with his sales but prochannel modules could open a whole new market. The only reason I didn't buy the Pan knob yet is that I want it as a PC version, that's a first hand example.
  15. Absolutely support this idea! I had a short email conversation with Boz shortly after Sonar was taken down and reappeared as Cakewalk by Bandlab, asking him for ProChannel version of his new plugins. He wasn't sure if it makes sense, that was the answer from him. People go bother him!
  16. Get prepared people!
  17. You realize because of that the plugin market almost collapsed...?
  18. But yes, I would love something like a simple click of a button to split controllers to take lanes or tracks, without involving fussy CALs, split by channel, thin out, smooth out (this one for tempo changes as well), double click in the controller pane to select all events in the pane, select only a bunch then edit just on these, draw a line then click in the middle and bend etc.
  19. Is the king back? 😳😲 EDIT: No...😔
  20. While I'm all for any tools that could make working with MIDI easier, especially that we have to deal with tons on different controllers, channels and other type of events, where such a simple things like selecting and copy/pasting can be tricky, I'm not sure how such a function you're asking should look like. What I do in your case is to use snap setting "Snap By" when dragging a selection that is not perfectly aligned to measure boundaries, to keep it in it's relative position. Set snap resolution to measures and check your Snap By is on, then drag or ctrl+drag your selection and you should be fine. If you make a selection first, for example select measure 3 and 4 of a given track, then Edit>Select>By Filter (Ctrl+Alt+F6) and there you can specify exactly what you need, for example click 'None' at the bottom right then check only Control, number Min: 64 and Max 64 and then OK (up in the right corner) and you'll end up with only sustain pedal controller selected but your selection (measures 3 and 4) will remain untouched.
  21. yeah I wouldn't mind reworked drum maps or floating palette with key input at least
  22. I would like to have an option to one-click bypass for the whole row of effects at once in the console. For example place the same type of effect, say an EQ or a compressor, or channel FX, as the first fx in every track, then ctrl(or anything)+click 'off' in only one of them to bypass all at once. This is for quick comparison. Something like a 'dummy spacer' would be handy in cases where I would need to set the FX order properly, in some tracks.
  23. What I like in the S1 example is that after activating the gain env. (and we have shift+drag that is awesome in Cakewalk), you don't have to switch back and forth between clip gain and focus to clips, to edit the gain env. You just do it right away in the clip focus. Mind you this is not about the regular working with automation like volume, pan or any other. This is about fast clip gain workflow, like a quick fix of a spike or correcting uneven loudness of certain words, for example, before you proceed with mixing (compression etc). Just select a portion of a clip and drag it up or down to adjust the gain, in Cakewalk it's almost there thanks to dynamic waveform, but not there yet because when focus to clips, ctrl+drag works only on the whole clip gain envelope . What's missing is the select then ctrl+drag to alter only the selection. In S1 there's even transform tool on the envelopes, how cool is that!
