  1. It's the most common reason. You have to run Cakewalk not in the administrator mode.
  2. Are you running Cakewalk as administrator?
  3. I would try to record a patch change performed manually on the keyboard, into an empty MIDI track in Cakewalk, and then check how does it look in the event list. Then try and replicate.
  4. It was a temporary project with loads of different softsynths across tracks where I could explore some draft musical ideas before letting them into a fresh clean project. Most of the content is going to garbage but a couple performances made into the project. I could repeat everything from scratch in the new clean project but a few clips were actually made nicely enough to make me want them just copy paste. So far I found out that if I extend clip start to the beginning of a bar and copy to a new project, it's content will be kept in place so that's one way. Another way is to adjust clip's start times, in the inspector, after paste. But I really wished there was simpler way. No biggie. Copying tracks between projects is no straightforward either. You'd have to 'Save As' project, as per Steve's advice above, or use track templates, if you needed to copy track setups. You have posted some excellent advises too, guys. Thanks!
  5. My MIDI clips typically fall far off the grid. Inside the same project, when moving or copying, it's enough to keep the Snap setting to copy 'By', problem solved. When I try to copy clips onto a new created project, they always land in an arbitrary place regardless Snap settings. Is there a way to copy clips between projects and keep their relative position on the grid?
  6. That's a good reason to include my global Kontakt libraries folder in Cosmos. Thanks for the tip! 😁
  7. A couple months ago Cakewalk introduced some enhancements to the menus. In order to check if that could be the reason for the GUI issue I opened LiftFX and uJam plugins in Sonar Platinum, even went as far as to the X1 series just to find out that the freezing plugin GUI was there already, always after messing in the tempo box. Dead end. Oddly enough there is not a single issue like that in any of the other DAWs I have (Cubase, Ableton, Reason, Reaper, Mixbus). Clearly that's something Cakewalk is handling differently to the rest of the world.
  8. So far I was able to set path for samples on an external disk with other Waves plugins, hopefully there's an option in Cosmos too for that.
  9. Oooh that would be huge oversight... what about mp3? The free samples it does come with are being downloaded onto hard disk? Anyone pinned down the path? Thx
  10. Right, once I saw CR8 announced I understood there's probably no more any sampletrack for Cakewalk in the pipeline (assuming there was one). Is CR8 actually light on resources?
  11. Anyone updated? No issues? Thx
  12. For me it was always fine since it's early ages in XP 32bit. Only recently the one big issue is that it somehow overloads outputs massively then the whole project looses sound and needs reload, sometimes when that is not enough then restart Cakewalk.
  13. I hope Zero-G will stay Really wishing them to stay strong and carry on. One of my favorite shops for samples recently. That being said I feel very sad for T+S, had been buying more and more from them over last year.
  14. Thanks for the tip, I'll try next time I have this issue again. I get it randomly since maybe last year, mostly hitting Dexed. What kind of preset did you mean?
  15. Remember the Ujam GUI bug where the plugin GUI gets unresponsive after changing tempo in Cakewalk and you have to close the project to get rid of it? Some users reported to have the same problem. There are a few more plugins exposing this and it still seems unsolved. Recently I acquired LiftFX and this one is suffering from the same issue but exposing a new symptom that hopefully might help further nailing down the bug. So I recorded a short video showing it. I don't know if it's a plugin, Cakewalk or Windows bug and I'm not very familiar with tweaking Windows gfx settings so there's hope someone who's watching this might get the idea what is going on here and what to do to get rid of the problem. What you see on the video is me first clicking on presets, the presets menu opens and closes after clicking on a preset. Next I go to change the tempo, take a note that only after I click and drag the spin wheel or whatever it used to be called, on the right to the tempo value where my mouse changes into that up/down double arrow, this is what triggers the GUI bug. Now if I try to change preset in the plugin again, most of the GUI becomes unresponsive, knobs and values are frozen (won't update anymore) no matter what I try and I'm not able to change most of the things on the surface until I close and reopen project. The same happens in Ujam and some other plugins. Now the new thing that occurred in this particular plugin is that after I close it's GUI, there's that weird, persistent 'phantom' menu left, even after minimizing Cakewalk to desktop, that's frozen too and I can't seem to do anything with it no matter whether I click on it or press Esc. Closing project only can get rid of it. Anyone having an idea what is going wrong here?
  16. Yeah, unless there was a glitch in their email, I think that it's just the "old" Satin-rnb samplepack dusted off for a valentine gift.
  17. Is this exactly the same patch I already have in my Sasaki??
  18. Probably just a compatibility changes for MacOS users. Windows users get a facelift in form of a new version number. Why a changelog then 😞

    Waves free plugin

A hidden introduction to V14...? 🤔 Edit: does it state anywhere that it's a plugin? Maybe it' s a service.
  20. I know, right?! I did get a sense of scam from the deceptive description. Only 3.12GB for a Soundpaint library... Huh, would you believe it! 😜 Unless there was a typo and it should be 31.2GB
  21. Three things in our life are certain: death, taxes... and, yeah, now you know... Larry can confirm!
  22. Finally something I might consider buying... once we run out of any other deals here 😂😂🤣

    Soundtoys SIE-Q

I missed the sale on upgrades a few times (years) in a row, so I had prepared for it this year but there was no sale on upgrade this time, unfortunately
