  1. Does anyone else have the issue that if you click the PRV menu item: View | Show\Hide Articulation Pane on an active track in Build 85, that nothing happen? This is on a newly added MIDI track (or SIT) (Works fine in 2021.1 Build 75 - which I have reverted to)
  2. Contact support@cakewalk.com
  3. All fine here 2021.1 Build 75. Pressing keys on my MIDI controller show the key in my PRV (Yes I know 2021.1 build 85 is available, but I am having an issue with articulation maps that makes build 85 a show stopper for me)
  4. With 2021.1 Build 085, I am now unable to display the articulation map pane on a newly created MIDI track (Or SIT) in a new project. Clicking the PRV menu item: View | Show\Hide Articulation Pane has no effect. I can, however, display the articulation map pane from an existing project. But even on an existing project, a newly created MIDI track exhibits the same issue. I reverted to 2021.1 Build 075 and the View | Show\Hide Articulation Pane on a newly created MIDI track is worked again Anyone else experiencing this before I shoot a note to support?

    Hello again :)

Are you saying that you load a template with that setting unchecked. Then eventually, without loading a new project , the setting is becomes checked? If that is the case, I have never had that issue in the 22 years I have been using Cakewalk (Up to the latest CbB)

    Hello again :)

Because this is under “Projects" in preferences, this is a per project setting. It will also be set as part of a project template. If you want this setting to be checked (or unchecked), save your start up template with this setting as you would like it. With the same project open, it should not change of its own accord.

    Size of cakewalk setup

Time to upgrade your internet. If you think 566 MB is large, wait until you see the size of some third party libraries..... (UVI world Suite 2 clocks in at 28.5 gig, Sampletank 4 Max clocks in at 260GB. Some libraries are even larger)

    Does CbB Support MPE?

I'm curious If an MPE enabled keyboard (like a ROLI device) performance was recorded with CbB, would the data received be standard MIDI data (including poly aftertouch), albeit on all 16 channels? If that's the case, if you have 16 MIDI tracks, all set to their respective MIDI channels in the track's settings and all armed and recording, would such a recording populate all 16 tracks with MIDI data - including the poly aftertouch?
  9. Very good points. I do indeed use a Hardware synth (Yamaha SW1000XG) that excepts Sysex strings. For a while now, I have indeed been making extensive use of SYSEX banks. These work really well I also have written many Studioware panels that themselves contain sysex. (Please don't ever drop support for opening these in CbB - and CAL scripts). I can see where you are coming from in in regards SYSEX in Articulation maps - and I am agreeing there. I can also see the issue you would have for the various Chase modes for articulation maps that contain SYSEX strings. Some SYSEX strings can be quite long and the synths need time to process some of them. Also, there has to be enough people who would use the feature to warrant the amount of work put into it. I am going to have to concede that I am very much in the minority. Therefore, I am happy to continue using Studioware panels. As regards NRPNs and NPNs. I keep forgetting that they are simply combined standard controllers that can be added to Articulation maps. So in essence, in a round about way, NRPNs and NPN functionality in Articulation maps is already there -just not as direct entries. For those I will just continue to use standard PRV NRPNs and NPN controller lanes (with the right INS file) - the names are all there in my case. The main thing I use NRPNs and NPNs for are setting pitch bend range and adjusting individual drum parameters in XG. A big thanks to the developers for fixing the pitch bend ranges in Articulation maps BTW - that was much appreciated.
  10. You know what would be awesome? If Articulation Maps could contain SYSEX strings. Also NRPN and NPN values would be awesome as well.

    Audio Engine Dropout

Maybe. However, if I had a buck for the number the times a diagnostic says that it's “X” and it ends up being “Y”, I would be able to retire by now.... Sometimes one has to think outside the square.....

    Audio Engine Dropout

Increase the sample buffer size ( in Preferences | Audio | Driver settings) even further and see what happens..... There is no “What size should the buffer be”. If it is a buffer issue, then the “size it should be” is when you are no longer having any drop outs. On a side note, it could be a plugin doing this. Try without any plugins enabled (illuminate the “FX” on the Mix Module) Also, you don't mention the type of drive your Audio data is on (Spindle 5600 RPM / 7200 RPM / SSD)

  14. My first guess is that there are stray pitch bend MIDI events in your MIDI track that is attached to the Koto. Use the Event List view to rule this out. (Maybe use Event Manager to view just wheel events) Another possibility is that due to a fault with your keyboard controller, it's sending spurious pitch bend MIDI events. Another possibility is a sample rate mismatch between your project and windows sound settings (44.1 khz vs 48 khz) - you don't say whether you're using ASIO or WASAPI
  15. I have to say, this, combined with El-Clapo does a near perfect "We will rock you" intro! Just make sure you freeze those claps, unless you like a maxed out CPU
  16. When you say "wouldn't boot." - that's meaning?..... won't power up at all? Powers up , but blank screen - and hard drive light activity?. You see the boot process but hangs at part of the Windows boot phase?
  17. There is. If you own El-Clapo and you log on to your BOZ account (make sure EL-Clapo is listed on your “products” page), then the price becomes $US5.00 on checkout. Note, this is preorder, so you will have to wait for BOZ to make the finger snaps, and foot stomps available. If you preorder, you will get an email when the finger snaps, and foot stomps are available.
  18. This is definitely going to be an issue with your PC, driver or a third party plugin rather than a specific Cakewalk by Bandlab issue. Cakewalk by Bandlab has been super usable on my lowly PC (see my signature for me specs) and I have never experienced the issues you have described. Maybe drop a note Cakewalk support at https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000025633
  19. That's a really strange issue I have never encountered. Maybe drop a note to Cakewalk support at https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000025633

    Does CbB Support MPE?

One enhancement that Cakewalk by Bandlab does desperately need is the ability to directly edit polyphonic aftertouch events in the PRV. Right now, only Channel aftertouch events are supported. The polyphonic aftertouch events are actually recorded in Cakewalk by Bandlab, it's the actual of editing of them that is a PITA
  21. Now that I have more information, I was able to reproduce this. Drop a note to Cakewalk support https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000025633
  22. I performed a simple test. I created a SIT (Simple Instrument Track) using Plugin Boutique's Carbon Electra. This SIT had a send which went to a bus. That bus had a reverb effect on it's PC channel and a delay effect in it's effect bin. I saved the SIT as a track template. I deleted the SIT and the bus that the SIT's send went to. I inserted from the track template I saved. This inserted not only the SIT with Carbon Electra, but it also inserted the Bus with the reverb and delay intact effects. The routing of the send to the bus was also intact. So, unless I am misunderstanding your question, I am pretty sure this is already possible. This is with Cakewalk by Bandlab 2020.11 Build 99

    Does CbB Support MPE?

Here is a description of MPE from https://support.roli.com/support/solutions/articles/36000027933-what-is-mpe- ROLI instruments use MPE to transmit their dimensions of touch as standard MIDI messages on multiple channels to achieve expressive polyphony. Each note is sent on an individual channel Messages which would normally influence all notes (like pitch bend or continuous controllers) can be expressed polyphonically. Therefore it looks like MPE uses standard MIDI but sends on all channels. In CbB if you have 16 consecutive MIDI tracks, set their channels 1 to 16 respectively, arm them all and set them all to record simultaneously, you would be able to record a performance from an MPE keyboard controller. Each track will be populated with the relevant notes. What sounds (and MPE support) you get would be up to your synth, be it a software synth or a hardware synth. Perhaps a better question would be, what VSTi plugins support MPE MIDI data. Meldaproduction Msoundfactory is an example of a VSTi that claims to fully support MPE See: https://www.meldaproduction.com/MSoundFactory
  24. I have definitely never had this issue with Meldaproduction plugins (I am now on 14.16 - not BETA) Maybe Cakewalk needs reinstalling. See: https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034066393-Clean-Install-Cakewalk-by-BandLab
