  1. I use sysex all the time via a USB to MIDI cable and I have never had issues with dropped data. In my case, the sysex is to control effects on an SW1000XG installed on another PC. I use MIDIOX to do the routing on that PC. This is via a Roland UM-ONE mk2 USB MIDI Interface that I have had since mid 2015.
  2. I thought they were. https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards-Components/Sound-Cards/All-series/
  3. Yes it is possible to send patch changes to your synth. I do it all the time from Cakewalk by Bandlab to a circa 1999 SW1000XG card. As far as receiving them, that is also possible. In Cakewalk by Bandlab. you need to make sure that patch changes are enabled for recording. This is done in Preferences | MIDI | Playback and recording > Record; Make sure Patch changes are enabled. Sysex is also supported. I also make extensive use of these for the SW1000XG.
  4. The new company is Luminary See: https://roli.com/stories/roli-reforms-as-luminary-what-you-need-to-know It states the following: “All existing ROLI products will continue to be supported as before — including the Seaboard, BLOCKS, LUMI Keys, Equator2 and ROLI Studio. FXpansion synths Cypher2 and Strobe2 will also continue to be supported.”
  5. One other thing to try. Can you explore to the location where the CWP file is actually stored. Are there other files that have a similar name as your project, but that have a weird extension - ~{date and time}. The filenames I am thinking about would be like this (using Europe Endless - Kraftwerk.cwp as an example) Europe Endless - Kraftwerk.cwp.~2021-08-15-19-37-39-423 These would be present if you have versioning enabled versioning in Preferences | File - Advanced (Advanced) These have been my saviour from time to time.
  6. An exported MIDI file can only have events supported by the MIDI Spec. As far as I know, there is no MIDI event that can tell an entire channel to be silent. Of course, the Cakewalk MIDI export function could simply insert CC7 > 0 at the start of a track you have set as muted. However, there is no guarantee there are not further CC7 events further into that track.
  7. I tried it here as well. Same result. I also opened the file up in a hex editor.... most of the file has the same small text string repeated. Just to be sure, you might want to check your disks for any errors. Use the Windows System Event Viewer to check this Start + Run > eventvwr.msc You can also check your disks overall health with CrystalDiskinfo
  8. If ripple edit is off and there is are no events in the selection, then the Delete will be greyed out. If you want to delete time in your entire project and there are no events in the selection, turn "ripple edit all" on. If you want to delete time in just one track and there are no events in the selection, turn "ripple edit Selection" on.
  9. This instrument requires the FULL VERSION of Kontakt 4, or above.
  10. See: https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/31370-new-cakewalk-web-installer/
  11. What are your PC specs? What audio interface are you using. What driver mode are you using?
  12. Depends on which Antivirus product you’re talking about, how it's configured and what exceptions you’re set. With my Malwarebytes Premium, All Cakewalk program and data folders are excluded from the real-time scans.
  13. Yep.....it’s “Section”.... my bad

    Panning Question

Define “for panning” Meldaproduction Mautopan comes to mind. https://www.meldaproduction.com/MAutopanMB
  15. Under the track | Menu > deselect “Select events with Selection”
  16. You can only set keybindings to specify discreet dotted values. Feature request? https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/forum/8-feedback-loop/
  17. Preferences(advanced) | Customisation | Keyboard Shortcuts > Area: Global Bindings Your CAL scripts will be at the bottom - just scroll down until you find your specific script. In the left , select the key combination (Or use Locate Key). In the right column, select your script. Then click “Bind”. You should see a line connecting the key combination to the action. When done, I like to export my key bindings to a file as a backup. As long as you have saved your CAL scripts in the folder as defined in Preferences | File | Folder Locations > CAL Files (5th down), your scripts should appear in that list to the right.
  18. Requires full retail version of Kontakt 5.8.1 or higher
  19. Please don't ever discontinue CAL scripts in CbB. I will literally be lost without them (Same for Studioware Panels)
  20. CAL scripts will still work in Cakewalk by Bandlab. However, if you are writing your own CAL scripts (which I have), there are some caveats you need to be aware of. Some commands behave differently (like EditPaste without parameters just pastes. Some even will categorically crash Cakewalk by Bandlab - Yes, Editslide and Editslide40, I'm looking at you) Also, you'll need an earlier version of Cakewalk (CPA9) to edit and test them properly. Remember these caveats and you can still write some mind blowingly useful scripts (especially when combined with Studioware panels - which I have done myself).
  21. To me, this would be the most convenient method. Once its set up, it's there forever....

    Arturia Pigments

It's just a standard run-of-the-mill VST synth so it should work. When you installed it, did you take note of where it is putting the DLL or VST3 file? I usually do a custom install of plugins. Is the location where it was installed listed in Preferences | File | VST Settings > VST scan paths You might want to do a reset and scan (in that order) Also, head over to Utilities > Cakewalk Plug-in Manger to make sure any custom layouts include Arturia Pigments.
  23. Yeah, I keep forgetting about that.....
  24. This happens for me from time to time with an external SW1000XG card. I put it down to the SW1000XG missing the note off command (or more precisely, the note on vel 0 command) from time to time As John mentions, I just hit the MIDI reset in the control bar transport. One other thing I have done is added PanicStrength=1 in the [WinCake] section in the Cakewalk.ini file in the "%appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core" folder See: https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=4&help=INI_Files.4.html
