  1. Cakewalk by Bandlab.... (or what ever version you are using)
  2. What have you tried so far? Because you say “zero plugins ran” - we can likely rule out plugins. I am assuming you have already tried updating all of your drivers ( video drivers as well as audio interface). I am also assuming you went to the actual websites to check for updates rather than simply rely on Windows Updates or vendor driver managers for this. When the freeze happens, can you still use the mouse? If not, then you might be looking at a hardware issue (maybe graphics card) Also check your CPU temperature. There are many utilities for this.
  3. What are your exact steps you are using in your attempt to get CbB activated?
  4. Have you enabled MIDI in on the Helix Native plug-in (looks like you have as the routing in there) and then created the mapping to volume? Looks like a setting you have to change in the Helix Native plug-in itself, either manually or use a learn function. I don't use Helix Native plug-in, so I can't test.
  5. Select the smart tool (you have the select tool in the screenshots). Then, while holding ALT, click in the sustain (CC64) controller lane where you want the sustain events to be placed. For the values, enter numbers greater than 63 for sustain pressed. Enter numbers less than or equal than 63 for pedal lifted. Some synths require value numbers equal to 0 for the lift.
  6. My MIDIs tracks are never on the grid. What I do if I want to copy, I move FROM a little back from the measure where I want to copy from to capture any events the occur slightly before the measure. Then move NOW the same distance back from where I want to paste, then do the copy and paste. That way, any events the occur slightly before the measure are also copied. They also are placed at the right location relative to that measure. I use a CAL script to move NOW. EG
  7. Open MIDI files in Cakewalk rather than importing them. Then the markers will be included.
  8. If your audio engine is not running, then the arranger will not play out of order. If you are using MIDI only in your project and your metronome is set to MIDI, then the audio engine would not running Check the engine running status in your transport module. What you need to do is either create an audio track, or set your Metronome to use Audio. Do what ever you need to do to get the audio engine to run. Once the audio engine to running, then the arranger sections will play in the order specified.
  9. Here is a good starting point. https://www.cantabilesoftware.com/glitchfree/ As for Nvidia optimisations, not much to be done there as we are dealing with audio. That being said, there are some operations that would benefit from the mere presence of a PCIE graphics card. Some plugins and even Windows rendering itself benefit from a PCIE graphics card (Either Nvidia or AMD). Just be aware of fan noise. If you have an older CPU, then you would definitely benefit from a PCIE graphics card. There are some other tweaks specific to Cakewalk. In preferences | Audio | Configuration File try adjusting the following: EnableSetThreadIdealProcessor = False MixThreadCount = {number of cores minus 1} DropoutMsec=-8 You might like to exit Cakewalk by Bandlab, go to the following folder and make a copy of the AUD.INI file before doing this: %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core It also goes without saying. Keep your Windows fully patched and all drivers up to date.
  10. True. That's why I could not install Open-Shell fast enough after installing Windows 10.
  11. Mine came though at 7:30pm Friday ACST
  12. Check the file after the hang....Just use any text editor. It should be obvious in there where the hang up occurred.
  13. Enable this, do scan, then check the following file. %APPDATA%\Cakewalk\Logs\VstScan.log

    Sonar 8.5 studio

It it likely that Cakewalk by BandLab will still be usable (and activatable) for a while after Sonar is released. See https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/67893-no-rollback-installer-for-the-202309/#comment-482849

    Sonar 8.5 studio

Install Sonar 8.5, then Cakewalk by Bandlab. That way, your 8.5 plugins will be usable in Cakewalk by Bandlab. Consider upgrading to at least Windows 10 (preferably 11)
  16. Use only VSTs that you actually need. On that note: I do not have Cakewalk scan VSTs on start up - I only ever do vst scans manually, and on demand -when I add a VST.
  17. You might want to repost this, but without your serial number.
  18. Disable this. Note: Quick way to bring up Device Manager - Start + run > "devmgmt.msc" (Should also work on Windows 11)
  19. Quote: "BandLab Assistant is no longer used for installing or activating CbB or other Cakewalk products. You must use in-app activation as described below. You can continue to use BandLab Assistant, but not for Cakewalk products." /Quote See: Cakewalk product centre is now used to install Cakewalk by Bandlab. See:

    Metronome ???

On mine, the folder is D:\Sonar resources\Cakewalk Shared\Shared DXi\Groove Player (of course, your "D:\Sonar resources" will be different). In that folder, there is a file GroovePlayer.dll.
  21. You can also assign a keybinding for this....
  22. I am going to assume that your internet is actually working reliably (other websites work) Go a 3rd party firewall? It really helps to mention your Operating System in situations like this. Check that TLS 1.2 is enabled. (which it is not in Windows 7 by default). If you’re running Windows 7, See: https://manage.accuwebhosting.com/knowledgebase/3008/How-do-you-enable-TLS-1-2-on-Windows-7.html
