You would want to upgrade to AmpliTube 5 or SE to get the great new VIR™ technology (the 140,000+ IRs with the new cabinet technology) and 600 IRs per speaker vs 16 + the tech view, 57 simultaneous models (vs 24), post-mixer and DI stomp positioning, 3 simultaneous amps (vs 2), custom IR loader, mixer, plus the new gear added to v5 which is quite nice.  I think I posted the video demo of just that gear above but if I didn't let me know and I can grab it.

Isn't the new gear added to v5 available a la carte via the v5 Custom Shop?  Would this v5 gear actually function differently in SE vs. CS?

I don't need or want the wave. I only want the midi as data like you described. That is what I can't get to come out. It used to be so easy but I haven't done it in so long. Still can't get it to work with all of the above suggestions.

Just insert the synth as a simple instrument track, and ensure that your MIDI controller is connected to the track just like John said, and you should be good to go!

The simple instrument track is set up to just show you the MIDI data recording, but you will be able to hear the synth audio output through the Cakewalk audio outputs when you play. :)

  3. I agree that ownership is a mess, and IK could probably make that more user friendly!!!

So I probably had to spend a couple of hours trolling through what I did and didn't have last night. Big waste of time if you ask me!!! 🤪

  4. I picked this one up, and inserted it on a u-he Repro5 track with a fat sawtooth pad, and guess what?

    It was even fatter!!! :)

But it only goes to 10! 😢

Yeah, I love having that Korg collection and easily loading up the M1 VST with my old Programs and Combis using sysex data stored in Cakewalk.  Works flawlessly and sounds great.

Yep, it seems that Korg tried to keep it pure with their virtual versions.

I have several old Roland romplers, including the JV-1080, but It seems that Roland has possibly not been faithful to the originals. I have tried to follow a long and confusing thread on  the topic over at KVR, but I'm still not sure what you get with Roland cloud.

Some have claimed that the JV-1080 and the XV-5080 virtual versions share the exact same emulations... WTH?

  6. The Korg-meister!

Skippy mentioned in the livestream that the Prophecy (released in 1995) was the first Korg synth to offer physical modeling synthesis. So Korg has continued to build on those algorithms for over two decades. It's fairly rudimentary tech in the Prophecy, but still fun to experiment with. He gives a short programming tutorial in the latter part of the recorded livestream. 😎

And somebody asked in the chat if any other Korg Collection synths were in the "Unified" pipeline. Skippy said that the M1 and Wavestation were being actively worked on. I believe @ZincTmay have some involvement over at the Unify forum... :)

I apologize to @Julio Bonnemaisonin advance for going off topic.

What 16 channel GM1/GM2 compatible MIDI soft synth is available for free like TTS-1 is; the Microsoft GS Wavetable embedded in Windows?

I am aware of a few GM soundfonts, but they are not 16 channel, unless you have a player for that. There are not many remaining options for GM these days. It seems that those are bygone days for developers... 😢

Products that you have not purchased directly will still show as available (at least in my case).
I own TSM3, and many products that I already own show up as available...but many that I purchased
individually do not show up as available.  Personally I wish that there was an option to turn "Owned"
on or off, so that if you wanted another of something you could still get it, as you can in the store

I have Total Studio 2 MAX, registered on 9-10-2020.

Most of the one's that you own will be greyed out.  If you scroll down the list you'll find that the pointer
won't "point" to the ones that you already own, but some that you own will still be selectable

    Not so here, sadly... 😢

No pointers either, just a long pulldown menu of available products that meet the qualifying price point, including many that I already own...

The Lurssen Mastering Console is just $10 more than AT5SE and would get me AT5SE and more. Surely worth the extra $10.

Lurssen is very cool! No regrets! Grab that if you don't already have it!
