Could it have something to do with wake-on-lan? Maybe check the Windows Event Viewer to see what time it turns on and see if it could correspond to anything?

When I first saw this, I thought it was a bunch of loops; didn't realise they were one-shots... Does make it more tempting, to use with XO, Playbeat, etc...

It's not much of a discount, but on Time+Space the upgrade from TH-3 is £68.02 (down from £76.99). Not sure if there'll be a bigger discount in future.

This does sound very nice, but I do have to wonder - is having a sampled (real) synth really that much better than using some of the better synth plugins? I know it means you get a real analogue sound, but I'm guessing it also means you lose some tweakability, and that it uses more disk space.

Either way, this is a very good deal.

Apparently, their flagship EQ is discounted to $349.99 too. Strange though - I would have thought that anyone who has enough money to buy an EQ plugin for more than $300 wouldn't care if it was $399 or $349.

hmm... the paid-for ones do seem to be new, and the link Simon posted above still works. Not sure whether over time they'll migrate the other 10 free ones, silently get rid of that page, or both.

Hey @Simeon Amburgey - this is going to be a tough question (especially as the answer is whatever suits the mood being targeted), but out of all of the pianos that you've ever played/reviewed, which one is your favourite?

14 have been released for free since the KLANG series started; I counted four that were marked as free on the website, though it's possible I missed something.

I'm all for the new website; I'm even ok with it selling affordable instruments; I don't understand why they would take down some previously released free instruments though... unless they've been rebranded and are now being sold

I used to group all my full-Kontakt libraries in folders according to their company (which would help if I forgot whether I had previously bought a library). I recently came to the conclusion that I would often forget about the smaller libraries that I had bought because I was always looking in the 'bigger' companies' folders. So, I very recently started grouping them by type first (e.g. Keys/Bowed Strings/etc), then by company, and then finally by library name. Time will tell if this makes a positive difference...

The simple answer is, if you don't like Windows and think it's bloated, don't use Windows. If you want a Unix-based OS either go with Linux or, if you want more app support, go with a Mac that runs some variant of OSX.

Depends what language you like writing in...

As an aside, a .NET Core app will run in both Windows and Linux. You can't use WPF for UIs and expect them to run on Linux though; maybe a cross platform library like Qt, though they just don't 'feel' quite right.

I believe that it's a list of the best DAWs according to their readership, or at the very least the people who took the survey - that may or may not correspond to someone's personal workflow, but it may help people new to the field, or just give some awareness to other DAWs.

There's some pretty good stuff there, e.g. you could get a fairly good discount on Frozen Plain libraries, or the Audiofier stuff if good too

This isn't going to fix anything, but might give more insight on the problem. If you press Win+R to get the Run dialog and then type certmgr.msc, you should get the Certificates manager. On the left panel you should see a folder called Trusted Root Certificate Authorities. Inside that folder should be another folder called Certificates. If you click that, you should see all your trusted root certificates on the right panel. Do you see USERTrust TSA Certificate Authority in there? If so, has it expired?
