Update: I heard back from an email to NI who mentioned being concerned about there being two .nicnt files as in the pic above.  I checked with other library instrument folders and noticed which file was the correct one then deleted the extra from the Kirk Hunter folder.  Voila'!  It now works.  Thanks all for the sounding board and input!

Ah... I didn't think those would count. As far as I know, those files that begin ._ are Mac metadata files. Not being a Mac user, I usually do a find for them and delete them all. Off the top of my head, I think the other common Mac files are .ds_store.

  2. @Fwrend Did you rename the library folder by any chance? I'm still using Native Access 1, but adding libraries can fail if the folder name isn't as  it expects it to be. Typically the folder name is the same as the product name (which seems to be the case from your screenshots), but it can sometimes be different, e.g. using underscores instead of spaces; or having the developer's name in the folder.

”As far as the activation, I would love to help you, but this looks to be an issue with Native Instruments…. Which is why we no longer create libraries needing their authorization.”

My guess is that this means we no longer create Kontakt Player libraries that need authorisation via Native Access.

The instrument is from Vacuum Pro (that old AIR synth), but what gives it that sound is a preset in Unfiltered Audio Sandman Pro called Robot Politics.

It sounds great - I may have to play around with Sandman Pro a bit more!

I guess I could reach out to Synthogy support but I am not hopeful (even though I have proof of purchase emails).

I don't have experience with Synthogy, but many developers have been happy to add my purchases from T+S to their accounts when I provided proof of purchase. That said, my purchases haven't involved iLoks. It's worth a try though.

I can’t even tell what I don’t have anymore. Wish they added a Hide Plugs I already have like UA.

Open the PA Installation Manger and click on My Trials. It's not perfect (not all PA software installs from there), but it certainly helps to narrow down what you don't have.

Uhhmmm, you want me to by two 44 TB drives at $1, 499.99 each and mirror them???  I think not,  LOL.

My bad - I only saw that it was a large drive; I didn't look at the price. I was just thinking of safe backup strategies.

    3. Upgrade fans: If your fans are old or low-quality, consider upgrading to newer, quieter fans. Look for fans that have a low decibel (dB) rating and a higher airflow rating.

If you're looking for new fans, it's worth giving Noctua a look. The colours might not appeal to some, but I don't see that as a problem as they go inside the case.

This is what I'm planning to do as well but am not sure whether to stick with Intel (given their self‐inflicted woes) or switch to AMD (which is potentially risky since I know so little about their products and don't want to spend a lot of time, money, and effort to build a system and then have to deal with problems arising from them just recently having stolen the 'crown' from Intel).

Don't know if the situation is still the same, but I seem to remember @Jim Roseberry saying that AMDs can be faster, but only for parallel processing, e.g. rendering video. Intel still rules for more single threaded uses like pushing audio through with low latencies. I also seem to remember Jim saying that Intel chips were easier to keep cool, compared to a similar model from AMD.

Larry even beats developers to posting their own deals

Very true. The advantage of Larry posting it rather than the developer though is that the thread gets to stay open because of the advertising rules.

PA plugins are full of cramping and aliasing (among others). (Important note, aliasing can be or probably is inaudible, but that's not the point).

The question is: would you rather pay $29 for a plugin with inaudible aliasing, or $199 for pretty much the same plugin that doesn't have aliasing (but for all intents and purposes acts and sounds the same)? Of course there's always the option of using stock plugins, which are pretty good these days.

If you want to support plugin devs so they buy their new island, that's your prerogative, I guess.

Pretty sure that's not exclusive to plugins. I once heard about a pair of trainers/sneakers that cost 2 figures to manufacture, but sold for 3-to-4 figures because it had a commemorative logo on it. Fashion shoes and sports merchandise also probably fall into this category too. Monster cables? How about an Apple Mac Pro Stand for £949.00? Most updates to sounds are relatively small as I recall over the years. Rarely have they updated the entire soundsets/samples for a expansion.

Ahh... Maybe I misunderstood. I thought Sander meant one button to install all Toontrack products (like the Melda/Kilohearts installers), e.g. for setting up a new DAW - it'd download all of SD3, all of Legacy of Rock, etc.
