Ha! The job I had multiple interviews with only to get a "forget it!" email was for Target!

At one point I spent 13 months creating over 130 applications (all of them now take a LOT of time to create since they are all online and most include two-hour, 200 question psychological tests!). Out of all those apps (of which I was either qualified or way over-qualified for), I had three in-person interviews. One had three levels of interviews and the first two were very positive with the interviewer wishing I could start immediately; then I got a short email saying that they weren't going to continue to the third interview - no reason given. The second one I was told that they would have loved to hire me, but that I would just find a better job in two weeks and leave (right, did I mention 13 months of searching?). The third one was for just to stock shelves in the middle of the night at a Home Depot (because I like to eat and keep a roof over my head). The interviewer said I should be going for his boss' position. I joked "Well, is it available?" to which he laughed and said "No." Then he tells me "off the record" of course, that the position they're hiring for is meant for someone "darker" than me. I'm sure that's legal to imply, ya? 🙄 Oh, I forgot to mention that I had actually gone out in suit and tie with a bunch of printed resumes which had generated a lot of interest, but all the jobs required those annoying online applications. While it's illegal to ask your age, they all required you to enter when you graduated from high school. Then the software can discriminate for the companies. I went back to a few places and they all wondered why I hadn't applied since they had never received my application...

I definitely ran into this as well!

Getting older beats the current alternative! (And those that have the most birthdays tend to live the longest!) 😁 I guess I should have made post about my birthday last week, nobody remembered... 😢 Oh well, happy birthday! 😉
