It certainly is dronie (not sure if that's a word)
To be real honest I couldn't listen to it all the way through as all I could hear was the drone bit in my head inthe end.

No idea if dronie is a word. It is kind of the idea that the drone is mesmerising, try again, lights out, lay back just let it flow over you, it is better on monitors than headphones.

Thanks for the ears and the music.

  2. Here is another little thing that dropped out of the paws. Starts a little like a drone and mutates into more Berlin school.

    Hope you enjoy.

  3. @donaldpritchett in the 6 years that Bandlab have owned the IP of the software, they have done more with the software than either Roland or Gibson ever did and Bandlab did it for free, unlike those previous owners.

The original flagship version SONAR Platinum, came with several synths, Dimension Pro, Rapture, Z3ta +, Session Drummer 3, SI-Intruments, Applied Acoustics (AAS) Strum and Lounge Lizard, Overloud's Cakewalk addition of TH3, and Melodyne essentials full licence. Along with the Nomad Factory suit of FX. Plus the Sonitus FX suite. This cost around $450.00 to buy new.

There were a number of additional Pro Channel modules you could purchase. Three other FX, two mastering ones, a Linear Phase EQ and Linear Phase Multiband compressor along with an Adaptive EQ.

Who knows what the new Bandlab Sonar version will come with, I suspect we will be pleasantly surprised, we just have to be patient.

Cool tune Wookie, nicely performed and produced. Bit of a Floydian feel to it.

    Thank you sir, most appreciated.

Thanks for the ears and kind words.

Thanks, that sounds helpful, but...CW as usual throws me a googly. This has NEVER EVER happened before but when I press "i" for inspector all that happens is the cursor jumps forward or back. So I went to "view" " inspector" and the same things happen. Aaaagh! I love cakewalk but I also hate it when it does this.

    As I said.

    1. Make sure Workspaces is set to none, certain Workspaces have different keyboard shortcuts, and reduced control set and functionality. Personally I find that both irritating and annoying.

    2. Press P to open Preferences, click on, advanced at the bottom, scroll to the bottom and open the keyboard shortcuts window. Check in the global set that I is set to open the Inspector.

    3. Now the one everyone hates, download the reference guide, it has a plethora of useful information. Or you can do what I do, I have a desktop shortcut to the webpage this means I get the latest version. Such a resource should not be ignored. Most of the peeps here have learnt what they know by reading. For many of us it was the only way back between 1988 and 1992, even after 1992 we may have had access to the Internet but it was sllloooowwwwwwww, and a penny a minute.

To add to this, all I did was open the file, and that is how it is on the screenshot

I would check what MIDI port your tracks are pointing to.

Press I to open the Inspector. If they are just MIDI tracks all the track and port information should be displayed.

Also if at the top of the track view you can see the word Custom change that to All andbyour Workspaces to None, so much more information and functions will be revealed.

  6. @RICHARD HUTCHINS it never harms to share solutions, there is a range of users here from peeps who having been using DAW's for 30+ years and those who downloaded it yesterday.

If it helps us oldies we were swanning in the dark 30 years ago, with no Internet and only doorstop manuals.

As to your silence issue can you provide a little more details on what instruments you are using and how they are routed. It looks like you are not using a Master buss.

Well produced, I didn't think the vibe was a sad one, plus I agree with Bats that it has a strong Floyd feel... Nice work mate 👍

Thanks Steve appreciate your time and comments.

I did actually write some lyrics but never felt the need to sing them but here they are.

REMINDS ME of floyd just a bit..

and some of the changes sound like something that would fit right into a sci fi sound track.

    wonderful tones.

Thanks Bats, no surprises, Richard Wright has always been an inspiration to me, his keyboard work always seemed to be just right. Appreciate the time, ears and comments.

  7. @RICHARD HUTCHINS you could open the Staff view and click on the pedal gadget, this will show a highlight window below the staff, then click in this window where you want your CC 64, which is what pedal is, to start, it will insert a P which is the start and an * to indicate the pedal off. Both can be adjusted to a specific tick, in the event list, or you can turn off snap and drag them.

Definitely a melancholic vibe to this one, love the builds and voicings; all comes together very nicely indeed.

    Andy

Thanks Andy, it was one of those weird tracks, it literally just happened, all the chord changes just fell into place and the lead just flowed out of the furry paws. Appreciate your time, ears and comments.

  8. @Craig Anderton I hear what you say, though this was the opinion of a respected (probably) music producer.

For myself however having listened to several tunes mixed for Dolby Atmos and Digital on both a good quality 5.1.4 and 5.1 systems, mixed by engineers that should know what they are doing, for me the 5.1 was a better musical experience. On the 5.1.4 matched Dolby Atmos Focal system whoopee the FX flew round the room,  but no better than on my 5.1 system, which is again quality speakers.

If it grabs your bits do it but......

Film different story, but to get the best of it you need a multi speaker system, those using sound bars, well it keeps some happy.
