  1. IK is pleased to announce a new version of the IK Product Manager available to improve the experience of all IK virtual instrument users. From today, you can reload any of your instrument sound files at any time with version 1.0.10 of the IK Product Manager. There are no more fees or time restrictions for these downloads. Until now, if you didn't or couldn't download all of your IK virtual instrument sounds files within a 180-day timeframe following registration, you'd be required to purchase a "Sounds Download Reactivation Credit" for an additional 180 days to download the sounds. We trust this new policy is welcome news for many IK users. We still recommend that you back up any sound files you download, but they'll be in IK Product Manager if you need them again. IK Multimedia Instructions To get the latest version, launch IK Product Manager and follow the prompts to update. Or for new installations, you can download IK Product Manager here.

  4. Thanks to my friend @Peter - IK Multimedia for advocating for this change. It's greatly appreciated! You're a hero to our little group here. I'm grateful. I have a few libraries I've put off spending $10 to re-download that I can now start using!

  5. Big props to IK for this. Better late than never and this could bring dormant customers back into the ecosystem.

  6. https://www.fullbucket.de/music/oxid.html Oxid delivers a close simulation of the original hardware. It features 64-voice polyphony, string and synthesizer sections, paraphonic madness, and additional phaser and delay effects. Developing Oxid as a simulation of the ARP Omni-2 was fun. Of course the instruments lacks many features like “real” polyphony, velocity, after touch, or even VCF keyboard tracking which nowadays are considered to be standard. But hey: The original Omni was developed in 1975 (the Omni-2 followed in 1977) and things had to evolve. All the quirks caused by the design and especially its restrictions can have an inspirational effect on the music you make – or the opposite. I will not argue whether Oxid sounds exactly the same as the Omni. I did the best I could given that I am not in possession of the original hardware itself. But as always, I am open for your comments on Oxid, though. Oxid is free to download for Windows and Mac in VST/VST3, AU and CLAP plugin formats.

  7. Based on your profile picture I just have to say I didn't do ******* ****! Edit, though, to clarify I did have a bit to do with this so I did do ******* ****. That would be something for the support team to look into by looking directly at your account. IK Product Manager did not have offline authorization from the go. However a bug that was requiring you to be logged in to IK Product Manager to use your products has been fixed. It was only meant for the new Pianoverse subscriptions (log in every 72 hours) but it affected other products and has been fixed, if that's what you meant. Yes!

  8. 90% Off All SampleTekk Grand Piano Libraries SampleTekk, if you're not already familiar with them, is a developer, mostly of piano libraries for KONTAKT. They've been around a long time. I think I've been a customer at least 20 years. They don't have sophisticated GUIs, features or a bunch of presets for their libraries and most of their libraries were originally sampled a decade or more ago. However, their libraries are high quality, and at these sale prices, I think they're a fantastic deal. https://www.sampletekk.com/

  9. I'd definitely go with the Pro version. Not for performance reasons... but because it gives more control. Completely shut down Automatic Updates Group Policy Editor (Shut down Cortana, One Drive, etc)

  10. For me... I want to see EZBass come down. I'd like to see a cheap GR7 upgrade. (looks like that is on the table) I'd like to see Overlouds's vocal processor thing be their annual holiday $30-ish no-brainer. I'm hoping that the tradition of cheap EZKeys expansions is still a thing, and that the ones they select to be on sale are ones I don't have. I'd like to find the plugin that can make my modest acoustic with a sound hold pickup sound like a well mic'd guitar in a room at a no-brainer price. I'll probably take advantage of a few discounted libraries from AAS, Arturia, Overloud (Rematrix). I am hoping that everyone who has contributed great holiday gifts in the past will continue that tradition. Finally, I am hoping that everyone gets the deals on things that are right for them.

  11. Hi Everyone . . . another new Sonar creation from my little studio by the river. Was going for more of a chilled pop song thing in this one, just memories from a beautiful season of love. I might still add some things to it, and try to make the chorus sound more like a chorus . . . but still, a part of me says it's finished . . .

  15. Quick feedback on this guy. I picked this up and been playing around with it and it is more dependent on the material. After testing with a few songs that were a bit too complex, I backed off and focused on the remastered "Seven Bridges Road." Because the tonal information is very discrete, the power added to those frequencies is not significant until you hit around +6dB, and over +12dB it begins inserting a phasing/reverb effect. For the vocals themselves it wasn't a massive difference (traditional EQ would work), but it did add definition to the bass vocal (that caught me off guard) and was significant in making the guitar crisper. As I was playing with it, I realized dynamic key mapping would be useful to select the notes in the key to follow the chord progression. Although they are exposed, I was not able to find the key switches to toggle them. I sent a quick message to Plugin Boutique to see if this can be done now or if it is actually a feature request. Because this is set to all notes in the key (by default) with no active means to adjust that (that I could find), it is a bit limited in what I would want to use it for. [Side Note: If you open a VST3 in DaVinci Resolve, it shows all the parameters exposed to the host (even if a DAW doesn't show them), which can be helpful to understand which parameters are exposed (even if you cannot make an articulation map for them... yet).]

  16. A crap mix can sound pretty darn good on my iPhone earbuds or my BeyerDynamic cans. That same mix can sound horrible on real speakers, in the real world. So... I mix with monitors until a mix sounds great on other speakers, in the real world. Any mix that passes that test also sounds great on decent headphones. That's where I land.

  23. From the People who brought you Kirchhoff EQ Cabinetron - a new cab/IR Loader Cabinetron The Ultimate Impulse Response Loader & Guitar Cabinet Simulator Browsing, editing, mixing, EQing, tone matching, exporting… Cataloged but beyond being an IR (impulse response) loader, Cabinetron would be your one and only tool to find every missing process between your amp and your ears. Mission One: Sound Quality You may have an extensive IR collection, but please do not waste your precious resources on an IR loader that doesn't sound good enough. Believe or not, every IR loader does sound different, even if they share the same algorithm. and the secret that makes the difference is the rounding errors in convolution DSP codes. Sound quality is always the first thing that matters to us. Just like Adaptive Filter Topologies that we created for Kirchhoff-EQ, we designed a noise-shaping algorithm exclusively for IR convolution, to ensure every of your IR is ‘pushing the air’ in Cabinetron. Optional Non-linear Enhancement A guitar cabinet can be simulated well enough by convolution because 99% of the cabinet / speaker’s behavior is linear. But what about the last 1% of nonlinearity? Not only as a transparent linear IR loader, Cabinetron also modeled the non-linear behavior of how the voice coil moves within the magnet. With the enhancement of nonlinearity, more real cabinet-like all your IR’s will be, and more ‘3D’ your tone will sound. Of course, you have full control of this parameter. Tweak it or leave it, it’s up to you. Intro Price $59 List Price $119 https://www.threebodytech.com/en/products/cabinetron

  24. https://www.musicradar.com/news/roland-galaxias-super-synth https://www.roland.com/us/products/rc_galaxias/ Get quick and easy access to more than 20,000 classic sounds Given that, initially, it’ll only be available standalone, it seems that it could be intended for live use, though a plugin version is also in the works. Galaxias contains more than 20,000 sounds and enables you to layer up to four instruments into a Scene. Each of these layers has its own key range, transpose, and MIDI input settings, plus a dedicated arpeggiator. Macro controls make it possible to tweak multiple parameters simultaneously, and Scenes can be put into Setlists Roland Galaxias is available now and included in the Roland Cloud Ultimate membership. This costs $20 a month or $199 a year.

  25. Before you get excited: they deactivated the "build a bundle" feature for this. But the prices are as low as you could get with that, except you're able to snatch a single plugin as opposed to needing to buy 3. So I got KClip. Which I didn't need. At all.

  26. Normally I didn't need any plugins for mixing/ mastering as I got UAD total bundle, PA 2022bundle, IK T-Racks Max, Hornet Total, Waves Mercury, Sooth 2 and black salt's Oxygen. Next is for tools/ samples that can help making quick music for singers.

  33. You might wait a long time. A number of the latest EZX aren't included in the November sale and some are almost two years old. I would try and get an EZX 3-pack on sale if possible during Black Friday. Maybe on Thomann. That's what I'm hoping for.

  34. Started demo. Pulled it into Gig Performer to look at CPU usage in a more isolated environment than a DAW. Getting 4-5% CPU usage compared to MAutoDynamicEQ and Kirchhoff (both of those hover between 0-1%)...Measured with MNoiseGenerator going through them as Melda plugins are smart enough to bypass when nothing is being played. Amex EQ200 is around 9% CPU usage. Also white noise in the Demo is quite frequent and annoying - given the demo seems to say 29 days left in the trial, honestly that seems really poor. If the trial is unlimited time, then it is at least more forgivable.

  35. I find this one very interesting. I use MCharacter a lot, but it is really only suited for monophonic material and lacks some of the processing capabilities of this one, especially the dynamic EQ aspect and working on polyphonic material. Whereas MCharacter can address specific harmonics (more suited to tweak timbre), this appears more focused on the harmonics series of the key (broader application), but for practical purposes they would complement each other nicely. As I think on this a little more, I do not think either can really do what the other does.
