Some anecdotal data. Back in the SONAR days in 2015-2017, you may be surprised to know that despite having the annual membership option, the monthly memberships were by far the most popular choice for our users despite being more expensive overall if you paid month to month. Even though that might not be the popular choice for many people on this forum, there are many who prefer to pay a smaller monthly fee because it lets them manage their finances better. Payment choices are good for everyone.5 points

So here is the last track we are releasing off our Indelible Stain album - The track is called Perfect World. We have to finish this album now, as our new Album, Kiss of Storms, is out in October!! Firstly, I really want to thank everyone on this forum, for the help and support over the years – I can’t begin the explain how helpful that has been, so once again, thanks so much. Now to Perfect World. I originally wrote this in 2010, but although I really liked the lyrics, I could never nail the music. So I kept the lyric and started music wise from scratch. Considering how long ago I wrote this, the lyrics sort of resonate with the World we have had to suffer the last few yearsJ Hope you enjoy it. You can see the lyrics here https://devinelie.com/indelible-stain/perfect-world-ll/ And the whole album is available on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/album/43IS1UScScZbhzNrfVaB8a We’ve updated our website as well – we’ve got our own store now where you can get music and merchandise!! https://devinelie.com4 points

Why is it so hard to understand that lifetime upgrades doesn't mean your lifetime? Why is it so hard to understand that the new owners didn't make that commitment? Go cry to the company that did. Oh, wait ... So in other words, BandLab has bent over backwards in demonstrating goodwill even though they have no obligation to do that. Not very clear thinking. I'm really disappointed, man. I thought you were a lot smarter than this but you're sounding just like all the other entitlement-mentality crybabies who can't let it go.4 points

thanks mate! managed to get CENTURY-CHANNEL for €33 with this and the thankyou UAD is playing the intro to the native market like a champ. selling them oldies for waves price is a stealth move. hope they dont go the IK route tho4 points

I've purchased a couple of items directly from them and got a Thank you coupon only for the first one. I thought that for a purchase where you use a Thank you coupon you don't get another Thank you coupon. I did ask support about the discount for Creative Edition if already owning Polymax (which I got at Knobcloud, from another member of this forum, not from UAD). They sent me a $200 voucher, which could be stacked with the pultec code, a nice total of $49+tax for the upgrade to the full Creative Edition bundle ?4 points

https://www.jrrshop.com/rob-papen-rg RG is a unique groove plug-in that is far more than just a "virtual Rhythm Guitar player! New released RG 1.5 included 'Muted Guitar' model. By using the RG onboard sequencer it is possible to create classic Rhythm Guitar grooves, but beyond that you can use the synthesizer features and effects to make fresh new edgy guitar grooves. To play the grooves RG is using a keyboard layout of "major chords" and "minor chords", each with two sequence patterns (A or B) option. It is only a matter of hitting a single note in the major keyboard range or minor keyboard range and the groove plays. The sound sets are clean sampled guitars, which gives you great freedom and flexibility when using the synthesizer features and effects of RG. RG 1.5 Guitar types included are: - The classic Fender Stratocaster ? electric guitar (major and minor7 chords) - A 8th note groove type Steel String acoustic guitar (major and minor chords) - A 16th note groove type Steel String acoustic guitar (major and minor chords) - A Power Chord groove type Distorted guitar ( 5ths chords / absense of 3rd) - Muted Low and Muted High groove type guitar (single notes / no chords) The synthesizer parts of RG include a classic analog modelled synthesizer filter, LFO, envelopes and modulation section. The effect section can be built up by using up to 3 effects at a time. Included are midi time-based delays, chorus and also speaker simulators, phaser, flanger and many more. Included are over 1000 presets included 850 "RG" grooves and 300 "basic" grooves.3 points

And quite possibly they saw you already paid for Opal so with PolyMax the coupon they gave you was rightfully stackable. Good show.3 points

If you have been a long time buyer of plugins you need to get over it when others pay much less otherwise you'll get an ulcer right away (e.g., don't ask me how much I paid for Waves, Plugin Alliance, etc. a few years ago...) E.g., I'm very happy with the upgrade price, but I already had Opal (which I got for $50). If you got polymax for free and then upgraded, you actually got it for a cheaper total cost.3 points

It is, but it seems very good for highly effected parts, it will have its uses! I managed to pick it up for$17.02 +VAT, less some loyally points from Best Service.3 points

Thanks! I was looking at this because there was a Muted Guitar (I think) by Rob Papen in the Computer Music freebies that was actually pretty good and it put this dev on my radar. I listened to the demos on this and am sold. It will definitely be fun to play around with.3 points

For us newbies to UAD yes, but I do wonder what some of the long time customers think about it knowing the premiums they paid and how that could affect their loyalty! I paid $99 for the Creative bundle, so essentially double, not factoring in the price if someone need to buy Polymax. But I love seeing someone get a win and even though I paid more, I still think it was a pretty reasonable price ?3 points

I got news for you, Sparky: you don't own software. Any software. At all. Ever. You are granted a license to use it. Said license may or may not involve a financial transaction.3 points

180 days, and I've rekindled some conversations about that recently and will share any news that comes out of that. There have been some recent changes like the TONEX Pedal transferring the bonus software (AT5) and the TONEX MAX software (since it functions as the librarian and carries a lot of Premium Tone Models) so I'm optimistic we can keep moving in the right direction.3 points

Wow! Amazing that this circumvented the problem. 2.0.6 now installed and working fine. Thanks again to all!2 points

I suspected the pricing was a glitch (either that or they were allocated a limited number to sell at that price) and that all of these sales will sooner than later evaporate. Some of the voicings/patches are crap but I like a couple (like the steel string acoustic strumming) enough that I thought it was worth picking up and so I grabbed a copy after seeing Walter's post. @PavlovsCat raises some good points though I strongly disagree with at least couple of his choices. But as they say YMMV, what works for me may not work as well for you.2 points

Really? installing Sampletank might get Miroslav working here? I'm not happy installing stuff I won’t use. I abandoned SampleTank long ago. I just git blindsided into installing TRacks with all it's bloat simply to acquire the 670, and one each nobrand eq and compressor. Very unhappy!2 points

By the sound of it's demos I would have to think hard if it's worth the $17.02 (and yes, I see 67,52 now).2 points

This is another problem that many customers have Here my 2 cents @Peter - IK Multimedia please, take this scenario into account to speak internally Customers who have paid for the library in the past (like me), cannot see the promotion to re-purchase the product. I understand that we cannot re-purchase the product again to receive a new serial, but it would be nice, to have the possibility of reactivating it with the promotion, and being able to download and install it again I don't understand the penalty to customers of this product. It does not make any sense2 points

From the UAD representative over at Gearslutz: the $50 Pultec voucher can be used twice and for whichever plug-in (over $89 I guess).2 points

I had to wait until i expanded my storage to download total max bundle and by that time some of my downloads expired. I still don't have full modo drums kits. Rather than spend the money, i just use other drums. Shrug. I'm sure i am not the only one who has chose to just use other products rather than pay for what they already purchased2 points

I like IK overall, but hate their installation. I think it's weird that folks are mad that freebie is being offered for 20 year old sounds most of us already own. Ik is constantly giving us stuff. I have lost track of all the ik freebies i have acquired over the years.2 points

So take some advice from an old man with a storied history of scoring to picture...and I've done the lion's share in Cakewalk. Cakewalk's capabilities for scoring as they stand are fine, more than fine. People will argue with me about this, but I have the royalty checks and I don't need to debate this the slightest. If you want to make $ scoring to picture, you need to be prepared to do some editing. Just a fact. So get a simple video editing program and learn the basics. It might just save your life. No matter what DAW you use, there are formats and codecs that work better in that DAW. Editors and clients will send you all different formats. Find what works best and render every cut you get in your DAW's preferred format. When you have a sample to send back to the client for approval, or you want to create a video...do it using the video app not the DAW. I've outputted video files from Cubase, CbB and ProTools. Sometimes the client can view them, sometimes not. When i export out of my video app there is never a problem. CbB renders audio files quickly and more efficiently than video. You want the picture to start later? Slide it in your video app to where you want it to start. I'll admit, this feature is available in Cubase and other DAW's, but that is the only small advantage. And I would warn you not to do that in the DAW. Spend a thousand hours working under deadlines and you will find out why. OLD MAN RANT! PS. Want to look like a pro? When sending samples to clients for approval, put your name and version number on a title card at the start of your video. Include Time code for referencing...that is all2 points

I just found of this was released. I've been making videos for it for a while, but now it is here. I'll try to do a walk through of it soon, but I think you'll really like it. The routing is extremely flexable and it sounds great. It will also soon have a working NAM loader too. Is there anything you'd like me to cover in the walkthrough?1 point

I only own two Soundpaint libraries (in addition to their free offerings). One is the SG Guitar (I looked it up- their name is "Soul Guitar" and you hated it ?) that was released soon after Soundpaint came out, and a tenor sax that I got a discount on for owning the 8DIO sample source. Given that these were $15 or less each, I thought they were/are "good enough". SP can really get a lot of expressiveness out of the velocity changes, and I thought that the legato scripting also sounded very good, especially for the sax. Realistic? Nope! But worth the few $ for me to have a lot of fun getting those sounds out of a keyboard. I listened to most of Troel's Adastra demo, and I would agree that realism is not there, especially when you are using the scripted vibrato. It was also clear that he was using the SP capabilities (and he mentioned it in the video) to play some of the samples above and below the natural instrument ranges for effect. I have a metric ton of orchestral libraries, so that is the main reason I am not interested in it. A gripe I have with SP- unless I am missing it (and I still don't see a manual to check), we are at version 2.6 and still no support for Aftertouch (channel AT even?)? CC is supported, but I think they are missing an important tool for more expressive patches. I also agree that the Soundpaint engine has a nice UI and decent features (except for the AT oversight). TLDR- No realistic instruments, but maybe some fun sounds to be made.1 point

I had to buy my re-download once when I bought a new computer. I mean, it's just 10 bucks so it wasn't really a big deal, but if I ever need to do it again, I'll just simply quit using Syntronik/SampleTank/whatever else. I have plenty of other plug-ins. If they removed the restriction, they would certainly garner a lot of good will from their users since everyone who's had to do it has complained about it. And even those who never had to.1 point
-
Agreed. I've recommended this before and it seems easy to limit excessive downloads and not impact genuine users that need to reinstall on a new DAW etc. There is really no reason not to go this approach unless IK is looking at the paywall to expired downloads as a revenue stream which would be very Waves like and anti customer. The suggestion from HIBI is good too. With how large some of the libraries are, some people might not even have enough spare disk space on their current system and need to pay money just to install it for the first time when they do! Resetting download limits annually, etc should hopefully be the bare minimum though and easier to manage programmatically for the site.1 point

That is a good point. My initial take on that was there was no endorsement or gratuities associated with them.1 point
