  5. https://s1scripts.wixsite.com/colortoolbar Take control of your own "color standard" for all your Studio One songs. The Color Toolbar enables uniform channel/track colors and icons based on names, phrases, or even channel types. Now your buses, FX, vocals, and drums will always be a consistent set of colors and icons, speeding up your workflow when moving from one song to the next or between collaborators. A very cool free add-on, and the creator is getting ready to update to 3.03

  8. just looping back on this as I've just heard from support: - you get 2 activations - the activation is 'online' (it's not clear to me how this would work on an 'offline' machine_ - DearVR PRO/MUSIC are staying at PA (they weren't specific if that was 'forever' or just for now) - The plugin loads old setting (as we know) - so 100% compatible with existing projects.

  13. I'd say insufficiently strong Marketing was the reason why we don't hear more about them: a) Price point. They've remained expensive for a while. Xils-labs synths have been in the "luxury class" for quite a while. No "reasonably priced everything bundle" Not many good promotions. b) Presets. Some great presets from Lotuzia (RIP 😢) and Nori Ubukata but the total list was relatively short, not enough "instant gratification". These are virtual synths where you need to get your hands dirty. They didn't bootstrap a healthy "ecosystem" of preset/library developers. c) Choices. Emulated synths either overlap with less expensive alternatives or are very obscure (they may still be great synths but they don't trigger nostalgia purchases, "I so much wished I could have had a xxx when I was in my teens/twenties") Things may change after the arrangement with Plugivery, At least for me they finally hit the "impulse buy" price point and I loaded up this past holiday season. They're probably missing a flagship synth where they apply everything they've learned from working on emulations, and produce a "modern" synth that doesn't emulate anything, something like Arturia did with Pigments.

  14. For anyone who may be interested in New Nations offerings, this free collection also comes with a $25 gift card in the "Bonus" download file. The text file states that the minimum cart value must be $25 to apply the coupon -- I was able to add the coupon with a lower total, but I didn't try checking out in that state. The free bundle is made largely of construction kits (20 total), drum kits (20 with hits, loops and MIDI) and MIDI (chords and melodies), with bonus generically-named "drums" and "instruments" VSTIs that I haven't tried out. (Samplers from their range of VSTIs, perhaps?) With the $25 code, it's possible to additionally get one of their "ultimate MIDI" packs for free, or one or two sample packs/VSTIs in some combination for $1 or less, depending on your interests. Or, obviously, $25 off something pricier. The NN store includes a few products from other developers (Infinit, Pyrit, Double Bang, possibly others), which appear to be eligible under the code, as well.

  16. Hello everyone, I am sorry for not chiming in sooner, it has been a bit of a mess to say the least. In short, I fell prey to a classic collaboration phishing attack, the most convincing I had ever seen. The hackers were posing as Lichty Guitars and wanted me to select one of their custom made instruments to inbox and share my experiences in a video. The communication looked legit and did not give me a reason to doubt the authenticity, but their trap was about to be sprung. Thursday about 12:00 pm EST, I opened an application from them (the impersonator) that was able to steal what I believe were my SESSION COOKIES, giving them a way to bypass the usual Two Factor Authentication I had set up. Things happened very quickly from there. After closing my computer we went out and on our way I get a Two Factor Prompt that someone was trying to log in from the Netherlands. I clicked NO This Is Not Me, but the damage was done. I tried pulling over to try and change my password but they had already gained access and locked me out. The next thing was my wife gets a notification that “I” just started a livestream, but it was “TESLA” and something to do with cryptocurrency. Needless to say I turned the car around and headed back home to see if there was anything I could do. I immediately started to try and change passwords for other sensitive accounts using the Gmail account associated with my channel. I also made contact by phone with the real Lichty Guitars (which I should have done in the first place) and verified that this was indeed a scam and that they have been targeted before. I also Tweeted my situation tagging YouTube Creators as that was really the only option to get any type of support. Email, chat, of course phone options were non existent. After a little while, I received a direct message on Twitter giving me a way to submit an account recovery form. I filled out the information and then all I could do was wait. Time passes (it is later Thursday), and I get an email saying my account has been recovered. So I immediately go and change passwords and work on doing malware scans to eliminate any possible threat that might still be on my system. I then see that I could now login to my channel to start cleaning up the mess. When this type of hack occurs, usually nothing on the channel is deleted, they will set all of the videos to PRIVATE and change other meta data, channel icon, and channel name. I did a bulk edit to mark my videos to public again and tried to get my channel name and icon set back to normal. Things were looking fine UNTIL I get an email from YouTube saying that now my channel had been TERMINATED! This was something I never expected but now it seems that this was possibly in response to viewers seeing something was wrong on the channel earlier and reporting it to YouTube as a precaution. So back to Twitter as well as following up with replies to earlier emails from YouTube partner support. Now I wait…….. I did get a response from YouTube late last night assuring me that they are working on getting things resolved, so I am hopeful that will be soon. In the mean time, I ordered a YUBIkey which is a hardware two factor device that ironically was what the hackers were using to prevent me from logging in or regaining access to my account. I am also working through making sure I changed passwords on other platforms that might be vulnerable. So, many lessons learned and wake up call received. The biggest one is not fully trusting that little voice saying, why would a guitar company want you to do a video, you don’t even play guitar 😂😂😂😂 I laugh a little now but with a deep regret that this happened in the first place, costing me a lot of lost time trying to fix a mess that could have easily been avoided. I have to say that I have received so much support from the community and that has been such a comfort and encouragement. Also, by sharing what happened to me maybe someone will be spared the headache that I am dealing with now. I will keep everyone posted as the events continue to unfold. You can follow me on Twitter @praisetracks if you are on that platform but I will be here as well. Staying joyful, Simeon

  17. Text created in Photoshop is often blurred, smudged, or just plain YUK. CbB generated text looks much better. At least 2 modules let you to enter your own text which you can copy & paste into a theme image. matching the GUI's text face & size exactly. For Normal text use Custom Module (or Console View track name) (Track & Console View Name & Background can also be used) 1. Set text color you want in Theme Editor (Alternative Text #2) 2. Choose a theme that has a light or dark button for the text background or repaint Control Bar | Modules | Custom | Custom Button to desired color 3. In CbB right-click any Custom button and type your new word 4. Use Windows Snipping Tool to copy and paste into your photo editor For Bold text use Markers Module (or TracķView track name) 1. Set text color you want in Theme Editor (Alternative Text #2 or track name color) 2. Choose a theme that has a light or dark button for the text background or repaint Control Bar |Menu (wide) button to desired color (or track name background) 2. In CbB click the "+" button and type your new word 3. Use Windows Snipping Tool to copy and paste into your photo editor Shrinking copied text to 75% still looks good. Just remember to re-rename the buttons or delete the new markers when done.

  19. I had an addiction I needed to kick. Posting on this forum. Back in November, to kick the habit, I deleted my Cakewalk Form Bookmark and that was it. No withdrawals or late night trauma. That was easy. I thought my time would be better spent actually using Cakewalk now that I had the beast fully under my control and continuing to produce videos about Cakewalk . Making those tutorials about features I had never bothered to explore before put my learning curve was at 76 degrees. I feel the videos are helping a lot more people that I was reaching here. And it was getting frustrating as the new generation are not as engaged as we old farts were so the forum made me feel like most of my answers were talking to the wind. In doing research for my videos typing in questions would often open this forum and like today I would see I had some PM's and then I also found that @Starship Krupa A member I highly respect, had tagged me in a thread. I didn't want to go off topic in the thread so figured the good ol' coffee house is a nice safe place to hide now. Here is part of his post I wish to respond to. Approaching BandLab for any kind of promo money is a good way to be disappointed. It's just not how they roll. As far as why YouTubers not being around the forum, well, unfortunately, it's apparently not even worth it for them to announce new content here, as so few hits come from this forum (or any, for that matter). That's according to @John Vere of Cactus Studios fame, who remains a stalwart forum participant. @AdK Studios is the only YouTuber who still bothers to announce new videos in the Tutorials section. It's sad. Not even XelOhh posts announcements here any more. This is so true. And say what you will about Facebook < I personally avoid it if I can, it is were all of our potential new form members are hanging out. It's a terrible format which I need not explain but that is where I post my videos when I publish them. I will have over 100 views by the end of the second day. My analytics show that it's about 40% coming from Facebook and 50% from subscribers and then 10% are keyword searches etc. There are 5 Facebook groups I post the videos to and I sneak the odd one onto Mike's page so that #6. I have to check those pages for notifications and sometimes get sucked back into the question and answer vortex. So I'm a forum lurker now and once in a while I'll check my notifications and PM's as well as I might scan through the main forum and Q&A . I see nothing has changed and people are getting top quality help. I got a nice new mike for Christmas a SM 7B and so I'm on a mission to redo 30 songs vocal tracks. I also grabbed the upgraded to Melodyne Editor and looking forward to surgically fixing a few guitar chord boners. If anyone is interested in what I'm up to this is my new playlist I started. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7YqVth30eGuFWMs-8myWkFMJBrEnPU9b

  20. This piece started with the intension of adding a short intro to another track titled "What we dream". As things progressed, I was having trouble making the transition, and every attempt I made to get the two tracks to blend together resulted in the intro becoming longer and longer, until I finally gave up and gave it its own title. I don't do many soundscapes, but I really had fun putting this together. Hope you enjoy it. “Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.” – Carl Jung

  26. I grabbed polyM for 49 $ , prestes are great but i agree , presets numbers , quality ,even level varies ... but like you say Lotuza ( just fogured out he was dead man ... i was playing earlier and saw a preset he made named « c est la vie » this sadden me straight... Sonically they sounds great once you design your presets , as for interface i m already lobbying Xavier ....hehe ... and a juno for chorx lol... I don t see overlapping , synths he made , he was one of the first to make them ... and soncially (if you talk about cheery audio ) both osc and fx are way superior in xils ... but you re rigth , price wise he should be aggressif , but synths at 49 during sales and fx at 29 ( at audio deluxe ) is more than enougth .. Even at 59 for a poly M or a yamaha gs 1 or a synthi or a synthex ? Comon ...played with the synthi and it is indeed superb ... preset are meh ...sometime but i like a lot some presets because they stick with the synth epoque ... Anyway just sharing my finding , i do find some things absolutly brillant , some things that need tweaking but are way do able... finger crossed ...

  28. I broke my oath of skipping Arturia releases. In V8 they caught me with the SQ-80V. But that one I was patiently waiting since V Collection 5. This time they got me with this MiniFreak V. And this one I wasn't even wanting when there was the HW restriction. But ITB it's cheaper and don't consume studio real estate. And after looking closely it's a really good synth. More or less the same for the latest Korg Natives (Opsix, Wavestate and ModWave). I'll get them some day for the right price. Well... I lost a battle but I haven't lost the war yet. Let me think about the next synth that Arturia could include to caught me off guard in the next collection...

  44. Most people put the track one either first in the chain on every track or last in the chain on every track. Then put the bus version on your master bus. After that switch between console types on the master bus (assuming you have all the tracks grouped to the same one) to see which flavor you want for your production. Unless you have it on all tracks and have more than a track or two, the effects are going to be super subtle. Each option more or less provides little variations in EQ curves/Saturation/Stereo imaging. It isn't meant to dramatically alter the sound/mix.
