Most people put the track one either first in the chain on every track or last in the chain on every track. Then put the bus version on your master bus. After that switch between console types on the master bus (assuming you have all the tracks grouped to the same one) to see which flavor you want for your production. Unless you have it on all tracks and have more than a track or two, the effects are going to be super subtle. Each option more or less provides little variations in EQ curves/Saturation/Stereo imaging. It isn't meant to dramatically alter the sound/mix.3 points

They were being impersonated by the hacker in a fake collaboration scheme, I spoke to Jay Lichty by phone and he verified that his company was targeted before. The weight of responsibility falls entirely on myself for overriding my gut. I have a lot to share on this once things are up again. In short, the hackers have to hack you first before they can hack your system. Jay and his wife at Lichty guitars are doing some amazing things for musicians and their community. It is very sad to see them exploited and misrepresented like this, The story continues and I am praying for a happy ending soon. Seeing this is over a weekend I do not expect much movement until Monday. Until then, stay joyful ? Simeon3 points

Hello everyone, I am sorry for not chiming in sooner, it has been a bit of a mess to say the least. In short, I fell prey to a classic collaboration phishing attack, the most convincing I had ever seen. The hackers were posing as Lichty Guitars and wanted me to select one of their custom made instruments to inbox and share my experiences in a video. The communication looked legit and did not give me a reason to doubt the authenticity, but their trap was about to be sprung. Thursday about 12:00 pm EST, I opened an application from them (the impersonator) that was able to steal what I believe were my SESSION COOKIES, giving them a way to bypass the usual Two Factor Authentication I had set up. Things happened very quickly from there. After closing my computer we went out and on our way I get a Two Factor Prompt that someone was trying to log in from the Netherlands. I clicked NO This Is Not Me, but the damage was done. I tried pulling over to try and change my password but they had already gained access and locked me out. The next thing was my wife gets a notification that “I” just started a livestream, but it was “TESLA” and something to do with cryptocurrency. Needless to say I turned the car around and headed back home to see if there was anything I could do. I immediately started to try and change passwords for other sensitive accounts using the Gmail account associated with my channel. I also made contact by phone with the real Lichty Guitars (which I should have done in the first place) and verified that this was indeed a scam and that they have been targeted before. I also Tweeted my situation tagging YouTube Creators as that was really the only option to get any type of support. Email, chat, of course phone options were non existent. After a little while, I received a direct message on Twitter giving me a way to submit an account recovery form. I filled out the information and then all I could do was wait. Time passes (it is later Thursday), and I get an email saying my account has been recovered. So I immediately go and change passwords and work on doing malware scans to eliminate any possible threat that might still be on my system. I then see that I could now login to my channel to start cleaning up the mess. When this type of hack occurs, usually nothing on the channel is deleted, they will set all of the videos to PRIVATE and change other meta data, channel icon, and channel name. I did a bulk edit to mark my videos to public again and tried to get my channel name and icon set back to normal. Things were looking fine UNTIL I get an email from YouTube saying that now my channel had been TERMINATED! This was something I never expected but now it seems that this was possibly in response to viewers seeing something was wrong on the channel earlier and reporting it to YouTube as a precaution. So back to Twitter as well as following up with replies to earlier emails from YouTube partner support. Now I wait…….. I did get a response from YouTube late last night assuring me that they are working on getting things resolved, so I am hopeful that will be soon. In the mean time, I ordered a YUBIkey which is a hardware two factor device that ironically was what the hackers were using to prevent me from logging in or regaining access to my account. I am also working through making sure I changed passwords on other platforms that might be vulnerable. So, many lessons learned and wake up call received. The biggest one is not fully trusting that little voice saying, why would a guitar company want you to do a video, you don’t even play guitar ???? I laugh a little now but with a deep regret that this happened in the first place, costing me a lot of lost time trying to fix a mess that could have easily been avoided. I have to say that I have received so much support from the community and that has been such a comfort and encouragement. Also, by sharing what happened to me maybe someone will be spared the headache that I am dealing with now. I will keep everyone posted as the events continue to unfold. You can follow me on Twitter @praisetracks if you are on that platform but I will be here as well. Staying joyful, Simeon3 points

For anyone who may be interested in New Nations offerings, this free collection also comes with a $25 gift card in the "Bonus" download file. The text file states that the minimum cart value must be $25 to apply the coupon -- I was able to add the coupon with a lower total, but I didn't try checking out in that state. The free bundle is made largely of construction kits (20 total), drum kits (20 with hits, loops and MIDI) and MIDI (chords and melodies), with bonus generically-named "drums" and "instruments" VSTIs that I haven't tried out. (Samplers from their range of VSTIs, perhaps?) With the $25 code, it's possible to additionally get one of their "ultimate MIDI" packs for free, or one or two sample packs/VSTIs in some combination for $1 or less, depending on your interests. Or, obviously, $25 off something pricier. The NN store includes a few products from other developers (Infinit, Pyrit, Double Bang, possibly others), which appear to be eligible under the code, as well.2 points

My age touchstone was being a teen when American Graffiti came out and thinking how funny and strange the music and the styles were back then. Then along came That 70s Show and I realized kids probably thought the same about the styles and music of my teen years. However, maybe it is just me but I don't think DSotM sounds as dated as say Bill Haley and His Comets.2 points

@icu81b4 / @SketalDaz - in the next release, the "Freehand Smoothing" menu will be renamed to "Automation Smoothing" and will apply to both freehand drawing and recording automation. So: Smooth - will have the current behaviour, creating a smoothed approximation of the recorded automation. This works well for volume automation recording. As Drawn/Recorded (Jumps) - The recorded automation points are left exactly as they were recorded/drawn. As Drawn/Recorded (Linear) - The position/values of the recorded automation points are left exactly as they were recorded/drawn, but are joined together by a linear line. This is a compromise between Smooth and As Drawn/Recorded (Jumps). Use this if you're experiencing a stepping effect with "As Drawn/Recorded (Jumps)".2 points

@Simeon Amburgey I just wanted to say how sorry I am this is happening to you. I'm glad to see you're trying to stay positive, proactive and learn from the experience. A "growth mindset" is such a powerful thing in contrast to the "fixed mindset" approach. Despite decades of experience in IT, I'm sure if I was dealing with offers to feature things on a YouTube channel I'd also be an easy mark with a well-coordinated and convincing hack like this. Like so many things we're learning about now such as the dangers of social media for teens, this digital age is presenting many challenges along with its opportunities. Thank you for sharing the insights along the way. I'm wondering if I should be looking into a YubiKey now myself!1 point

CbB still has Screensets, flexibility with customizing the Control Bar, and Key Bindings. Not sure why you aren't seeing them or why they aren't working for you. What Workspace are you using? Try either none or Advanced because sometimes other Workspaces don't have features enabled. Also, have you looked in the current Reference Guide or online documentation? I don't intentionally use Screensets any more and only use a few keyboard shortcuts. Maybe an other user can tell you if the F shortcut has changed. I have different Control Bar configurations for different types of projects, mostly a floating one with most modules collapsed and only the floating, resizable Transport Module (Large) showing. Right-clicking on the Control Bar should bring up a context menu where you can set it up, lock it, etc. Right-clicking on any module should bring up the context menu for any individual module, including the Tools module. I don't change that myself. If there is a problem with the settings not being saved, maybe another user can help with that. Sorry, I can't help with the specifics, I just wanted you to know Screensets are still a part of Cakewalk, keyboard short cuts still work, and in my experience settings do get retained, although there have been some changes, such as various settings for some default behaviors. In fact, I just used F to get my tracks equally spaced verticcally.1 point

I'm going to guess that it's probably tied to the bundle. Just basing that opinion on the fact that the instruments in my V Collection 9 are all tied to one serial number, so cannot sell the bundled instruments separately. Even my crossgrade license is tied to the underlying product (in this case V Collection 8), which cannot be sold separately. So for me it's all or none. Of course all of the products that I acquired separately, e.g., Pigments and a few FX, each have their own licenses. You could always contact Arturia customer support for a direct answer.1 point

I think most DAWs have had Hall of Shame moments Logic for abandoning its PC users. Cakewalk for the way the add on components around the time of X2 made things less stable. Ableton for looking ugly as anything. Bitwig for offering WASAPI support for output but not input. Also both of them for not being able to audition midi to a track. Project 5 could do that and it's been out of development for 15 or 17 years already. Cubase had people calling their parent company Steinbug, so I'm sure there's something there. Frooty Loops offering lifetime upgrades and then changing the name of the product and everyone having to upgrade to the new version. Mixcraft for bundling software from an infamous *****. I guess that just leaves Reaper and Studio One as not having Hall of Shame moments.1 point

Yes, for those who like automation lanes. Cakewalk's automation has never fit my work flow. I have work arounds,** but since CCs have been such a basic part of MIDI since the beginning and continue to be both useful and used, the lack of that kind of MIDI control is an omission. I pride myself on being resourceful enough to design workarounds, but sometimes its nice to use direct approaches. Thanks for the suggestion; I will give it a try, but since the parameters are exposed to other software, I fully expect MCCGenerator should provide another successful workaround. Just to be clear, I agree with this ^^^^ and have always found its creative potential agrees with the stuff I do. My point was simply one about $20 for objeq delay alone. As noted, it was previously offered for $10 and free with purchase. I paid more for mine and have not regretted it. NOTE(S): **My go-to workaround is Voltage Modular. It is child's play for me to put Objeq Delay in there and use the Plug-in Host module to assign remote control CCs. Works interconnected with CbB (VM as an FX Rack within CbB). [This space reserved for reporting results of the MCCGenerator workaround.] Update: I started to try, but setting up MCCGenerator is taking way too much time for me. I might try another time. Since I already have the VM FX Rack approach down pat, I'll stick with that, but thanks for the suggestion. Also, I can already send CCs (learned and generated) from VM to control plug-ins inside of CbB. I'll spend my Melda learning time with Chandler's MSF videos!1 point

First reaction to the basic room (room pack hasn't yet downloaded) is totally meh. Can't yet see what this offers that every other reverb in my arsenal cannot handle. hen I first saw this though this might give Altiverb a run for its money, but listening to this is thoroughly underwhelming and I could not possibly pay such a large sum of money. I would invest in something like Cinematic Rooms from Liquidsonics...1 point
