Fluid Pitch. I just bought it for $34.40 using the discount code FALL30. Such a deal. Now, I should have been suspicious when I went to create an account and it told me my email address had already been used. Undeterred, I placed the order anyway. Turns out, I'd already purchased the product - earlier this month! Don't you just hate when that happens? If you don't know what this plugin does:5 points

REALLY nice update. After poking around for the past half hour, I really like the GUI changes. Talk about variety- this is a 180 degree change from the "All Melda plug-ins look alike" criticism. Just in MTurboDelay alone, 40 of the pre-sets have their own custom GUI's. Insane! Here are six snaps from MTdelay pre-sets:5 points

I am quite enjoying the Cinekinetik stuff. Some really usable sounds in there. Also getting the hang of Sampletank. Glad I dipped in a second time I think.5 points

I've taken Peter's direct quote of "Eastern" (many pages back in this thread) as official, which would make the "end of September" the rest of today and all of tomorrow away, around 36 1/2 hours now. I've seen others use the "Days Remaining" counter on the website as a guide, but (a) I've never seen Peter or the site itself claim that's an official "day-turnover" clock; (2) if it were, the GB would end mid-morning on a weekday (aka a "heavy" buy-in day) in the target time zone, which seems unlikely; and (iii) I've assumed they initialized the fancy website numbers at start-of-business on the day they announced it (August 5th), so the countdown counter started countering down then, but they didn't think to readjust it to reflect an end time of midnight.4 points

I'm sorry to say that I'm not doing the Tiger the Frog Black Friday post on VI:Control this year. I was really looking forward to it. My hope was to keep doing them every year. My hope is still to come back in 2022, but maybe somebody else will jump in this year at VI:Control. But you've got King Larry, so no worries for all of you. Basically I am really busy with a project I had no idea I'd be doing. I also had to leave the Composers Roundtable podcast that was so much fun to do. But I just don't have the time. I'm doing this on top of the publicity video series I'm starting in a week or so, so I'm freaking out a little. That's going to be weekly, and I'm also doing this.3 points

I totally forgot that it was Tracy who did all the scripting for that library. And yeh, it's a good one. In fact, it's become my go-to orchestral library, despite having a plethora of much more expensive ones on hand. Btw, my hot tip of the week: run The Fiddle through some light distortion, a chorus and delay. Juicy goodness.3 points

WARNING... for anyone installing this on Windows 7 (either 64 bit or 32 bit). I found after installing this, CbB became unstable on Win 7 64 bit, and SPLAT unstable on 32 bit. Cakewalk Command Center refused to run at all on 32 bit. The solution is to re-install the Visual C++ redistributables. The VC++ 2015-2019 package and the VC++ 2013 package can be downloaded from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads-2647da03-1eea-4433-9aff-95f26a218cc0 VC++ Redist 2012 Update 4 can be downloaded here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=30679 Once I'd installed these, everything was working again.3 points

I've scraped the AmpliTube documentation and Custom Shop to create the following spreadsheet. Hopefully it'll be useful to others. I discovered that Metal Collection is pretty much incorporated into AmpliTube 5. Use the filters to include/exclude values to narrow down what you have/are missing. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18qod2xI_wcOjBiFsN7gpv-60BeTyuhEQ-5epfb7IPcE/edit?usp=sharing Of course, with the number of freebies, it just makes sense to get them all, but if you don't want to, you can see what each collection gets you. Feel free to comment on the sheet itself if you have suggestions.3 points

I haven't had this happen with plug ins....yet. But it recently happened to me with CDs. I still avidly collect CDs, and (believe it or not), I actually have them all in a Microsoft Access database. I track 15 or so fields, plus all track information. I have around 3700 right now. That Access database has helped me not duplicate purchases well for over 20 years, until just recently. Not only did I buy a duplicate, I bought two separate duplicates... In the same month. ?3 points

Good one, Simeon. You're almost as good at faux-guitar playing on a keyboard as Tracy himself. Better singer, though. I once spent a wonderful afternoon hanging out with Tracy down in Anaheim. It was his first time at NAMM and he didn't have a team of assistants to man the booth, so it was just him and his delightful wife Brenda. Wanting to be helpful, I gave some enthusiastic - if unsolicited - product demonstrations to passers-by. Don't know if I helped them sell anything that day, but it was sure fun for me.3 points

The pace slowed a bit overnight (from 30+/hour to 20+/hour), but has usually picked up a bit midday (Eastern time). If things stay roughly on course, it looks like the count should hit 20k around midnight tonight, with a full day to spare. If things jump unroughly off course, then it's already down to less than 9/hour needed, which is basically "coasting speed": There are 37 hours to go. If the run-up at the end of August is any guide, the count added 1200+ in the final 36 hours of the month (though it was 700 away from 10k at that point, so there may have been a little more "oomph" behind the final push). At any rate, it seems fairly likely the count may be halfway to 21k by the time October rolls around. Huzzah!3 points

Hello , here's a Very minimal project using a high strung acoustic as the Main instrument (instead of being used for reinforcement). I used TTS analog drums and deleted all my bass guitar parts except for one section. I used both of my bass guitars and every bass vsti I have , and found them All very distracting with the guitars. I used 2 capo's on the guitar putting it in a raised dadgad tuning. Any suggestions are welcomed especially on overall EQ. Thanks .. mark2 points

I'm obsessive over it. I actually started the database in 1996, just simply as a way of learning Access. It has just taken a life of its own now I guess, and I just can't stop using it now. I also rip every single one of my CDs. About 10 years ago, I finally decided to rip all my CDs. I had wanted to do it for a long time, but it was such a large project, I just put it off. I purchased some ripping software (DBPoweramp) specifically for the project, and just started doing a few a night. It took me around a year, but I completed the project, and have obviously kept up with it. I rip in both FLAC and 320 MP3 concurrently; I'm also picky about metadata, so the software is of great help with that as well. I store everything on duplicate hard disks on my main computer, and use MediaMonkey to listen on the computer. I also sync everything to my Plex server, so I can listen to anything I want whenever I want wherever I am. As I said, I'm a bit obsessive over it.2 points

A game I play when watching old performances is identifying all the now-vintage instruments in use. Here we have the unique Yamaha CP-80 , an electric piano that had real piano strings inside, and an Oberheim OB-X - the rarely-seen 8-voice, split keyboard version that would have been the latest in cutting-edge tech in 1982.2 points

I think according to Peter they use EST. So it would be 00:00 EST on October 1st so still about 37 hours?2 points

I haven't played a Blackstar amp in likley 15-20 years. So I'm judgeing it mostly on its own merits. The high gain channel is crazy high gain to absurd range, unusable for pretty much anything but metal or similar. Like a swarm of bees. Low gain side has a more usable range but cranking the master introduces unplesant artifcat-like sounds, so keeping that in check and setting the gain and eq right, there is some usable stuff in there. The tone is about what I'd expect outside of the absurd gain on tap, but in terms of feel, dynamics and response, I'd say it isn't up to par with some of the better paid in the box amps out there. If I didn't have an arsenal of paid options, I'd be very grateful to have this for free.2 points

I always have protected my ears. I use either Westone or Etymotic ear musician's ear plugs. They go into a mold the audiologist makes, and you can plug in 15db or 25db inserts. The attenuation is almost flat, with only a slight roll-off at high frequencies on the 25 db. I bring an SPL meter on stage. Monitor volumes are usually no louder than 95dba (A weighted, Slow response) and during sound test we make sure the volume at the closest table is no more than 85dba. Why? We are the pros, and have the responsibility not to permanently harm the hearing of our guests. Insights and incites by Notes2 points

Thanks to All for your comments. @KurtS I was also thinking of a high Irish type flute/whistle in there somewhere. There's a pretty big section that repeats early in the song . Perhaps I'll try it there. @CSW I'm using a single AT3035 at the 12th fret. @Paul Bush the guitar tone was pretty easy to get. It was high passed and multiband comped on the remaining low freq's. Mids were also scooped using an EQ preset in the pro channel . A lot of videos you see about setting a guitar up for Nashville tuning recommend a small parlor guitar or even a backpacker. I think a full sized guitar like the dreadnought I used sounds 10 times better. There are some massive reverbs panned and coming in and out that also helped the tones. @noynekker I just looked up and listened to a lot of Bruce Cockburn. Wow , I take that as a huge compliment. Thank You again .. mark2 points

I grabbed the MDoubleTracker... I'd been waiting for that one to go on sale. You might be saying "Well I could just duplicate a track and pan each one left/right." And you could do that. (And I have done that.) But just demo the MDoubleTracker and you'll see how it very slightly varies the pitch and timing of the track to create a really nice stereo effect. Highly recommended!2 points

This has been a feature of Cakewalk that dates back to the days when it was a MIDI Sequencer. Are the MIDI In and MIDI Out connected to your PC (and Cakewalk) with some sort of MIDI interface? I took a very quick look at the SQ-80 manual and if does have a midi implementation section. Do you have experience with sending and receiving sysex data? Perhaps some of the following resources will help. https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=4&help=SYSX.01.html https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=4&help=SYSX.07.html http://www.buchty.net/ensoniq/files/manuals/SQ80.pdf2 points

@Peter - IK Multimedia So if we actually get over 25K (i.e. 25,001 or greater) does every unique individual who signed up get a free pair of iLoud MTMs? Seems only fair to me.2 points

Thank you @Simeon Amburgey, for a great interview with Tracy Collins of Indiginus! I have heard lots of good feedback forTracy! My first experience with Indiginus was with the Amadeus Symphonic Library, that was a collaboration with Sonic Scores and Indiginus. I love the full symphonic patch that was requested by Tracy! So I was recently attracted to The Fiddle, and ended up with that, as well as The Resonator, and The Steel, in my shopping cart! Well done!!!1 point

Welp, that's how you flatten a curve (and then twist it backwards like a paper clip): From noon yesterday (hour 84) to noon today (hour 60), a cool 720 signups went in, good for 30/hour. Hitting 19k by midnight tonight would've been a nice pace; as it is, there are 10 hours left to pile the numbers on. The rate needed now is ~16/hour and falling fast. Even if the influx wiggles a bit, going from 18k to 19k took 46 hours and didn't pick up the pace until around 18 hours in. There are 58 hours left for 20k, and a ~5% head start on the last thousand. Numbers are fun!1 point
