  2. I have to say... I've been chasing tones down dark alleys and nearly pulled the trigger on Helix Native this morning until I saw this. I know Neural and Helix are different beasts but it took no thought whatsoever to plonk the same amount of money down on two NDSP plugins and not look back. They are resource hogs, no question, but to me they are SHEER INSPIRATION. That alone is worth me upgrading my machine at some point to handle 7-8 instances without bouncing. The joy of instant sonic quality frees me up to actually record instead of constantly tweaking. Eliminating so much digging and experimenting to rid a sound of artifacts and buzz without killing definition and "feel" is priceless. Sorry to gush. It's Friday and my night is free and I scored Gojira and Nolly at half off and the fridge is full of drinks. Don't send any help.

  4. Shutting the browser didn't help. The only thing that worked was going to My Products. A dialog shows up saying what was added then. Just logging in wasn't enough.

  6. For those guitarists here that like to tinker, it is worth signing up to StewMac newsletter. I had looked at acoustic kits a long time ago, and they are a bit more complex and pricey; but they sent out a sale newsletter Monday (4/5) and I never really looked at their electric kits, which are pretty impressive. Please note that some of these kits will NOT ship outside of the US, as the only thing they are missing is the logo! The electronic kits are more pre-fab, so is really the assembly/finishing of them. Finishing kits are also 50% off and embedded into some of the kit options, but I wanted to point this out for folks. Example: an "LP-Style" flame top with no finishing kit is $209.99, with a Cherry Sunburst finishing kit is $274.71 (and comes with the stock pickups), which is pretty cheap in comparison to many other options out there (and the necks are already done to boot). The neck being done is actually a HUGE deal, since other options that are less expensive usually have crappy fretwork on them. They have most styles on sale, including acoustics.

  9. Its all about demand. We had a working partnership with Softube when we were selling SONAR. Now that its free perhaps its not such an attractive business justification for them. If enough customers ask for it they may reconsider it. We do plan on introducing some more prochannel modules in the future but like everything its gated by time I also plan on making a new VST3 prochannel specification to allow VST3 plugins to expose PC functionality (today it is VST2 only) If any developers are interested in writing custom prochannel modules contact me and I can share the specification.

  11. Just a thought.... I like the added Subforums which in reality should have been done (and was lobbied for) from the beginning. However, wouldn't it have also made sense to move the Deals forum up with the Subforum big boys? Deals include both Hardware & Software and is one the most trafficked on the website IMHO. ....just a thought.

  15. Good question. This is all I could find on IK FAQ: Custom Shop Gear Credits are the currency of the Custom Shop. They can be purchased either in the IK webstore or in the Custom Shop and used to pay up to $0.5 per credit (see more below). With the Gear Credits in your Custom Shop account, you can use those towards purchases of a-la-carte gear in the Custom Shop or towards Collections that appear in the Custom Shop. I have added the bold type to highlight what I think are the keys to using GC. They are not Gear Credits to be used to buy anything. They are Custom Shop GC. They can only be used in the CS, and if IK offers a new product in the CS, then you can use your GC to purchase it. But if IK doesn't offer it in the CS, you out of luck. If you want that new item that's not offered in the CS, and you have many GC in your CS account, your SOL. I have purchased stuff in CS using GC because I can get a discount buying them. But I don't buy much more than what I need.

  18. Have often thought of doing a kit over the years. With a quality neck (frets in and finished) it is a very desirable guitar. I bought one from a guy already made with a Performance neck, Floyd Rose Trem, Seymour Duncan and Dimarzio pickups, and had his friend that worked in a body shop paint it with metal flake car paint, (pin stripes and all!!). Great looking and playing guitar. I played it on stage for years and I would work that trem hard!! Looking back on it now I don't know how I didn't break the arm off the tremelo!! Neck never got loose, stayed in tune like you wouldn't believe. So a kit guitar, done right, is a keeper. I still have that guitar!

  22. This isn't a bug, but how the sends are ordered. Sends that are sent to "none" are essentially inactive, and will be moved to the bottom, whereas sends to active buses will be ordered in bus order as they appear in the bus section. Because you're send levels are so similar this behaviour isn't immediately apparent - try setting one of your buses to 9pm and the other to 3pm, and watch how they're re-ordered when you change which bus they're sent to.

  23. @Soundwise I did a follow-up on this, but I didn't post it here because it's specifically about the Presonus ProEQ2 - fairly similar to the QuadCurve in Cakewalk, I suppose, though the Cakewalk one has some emulation factor to it with its different curve responses (though there's more to emulation than that and I don't think QC has that), where the PreSonus one is purely a graphical parametric EQ. I wonder if there would be any value in doing one about the QuadCurve separately. If you are interested, it's here: https://youtu.be/ewP97liHClw

  29. REVISION NOTES: First my apologies in my brevity but it is raining buckets outside and we have had gusts up to to 40-45mph. The electricity has been out for about 3 to 4 hours but it is flickering and I'm not sure how long it will last. Yesterday I received a new mix on this song from Lynn. Lynn was responding to some of the comments below. The vocals were increased in the verses, the drums were brought up in the choruses (to make the Tom Toms "pop"), and to my aging ears his excellent harmonies are coming through a bit stronger. I thought the first mix sounded good but what he did with this second mix sounds even better. Many thanks Lynn. I have been working on this song for a few years now. I have tried several iterations of it but these always would end up with me being frustrated and storing it away - only to pull it out at a later date and becoming frustrated again (is this another run on sentence?). I recently pulled it out again but this time I got smart. I have always admired the songs that Lynn has been posting on this forum. I contacted him and asked if he might give me a hand in completing it. Fortunately he said yes. I forwarded him an mp3 of what I had done in my last attempt along with a few WAV tracks (e.g., drums, 2 rhythm guitar tracks, lead vocal and bass) and my plea to do whatever he could do to rescue this song. Well, Lynn certainly came through in grand fashion! He not only improved the tracks that I sent him but added: harmony vocals; a hot lead guitar (pan C) and rhythm guitar (pan R); some incredible synth riffs on the choruses; and cool E-Bow sounds on the outro. I didn't even know what an E-Bow was until I looked it up. As my mixing skills are limited, he even agreed to do the final mix. Needless to say I am very grateful to Lynn for his help and rescuing this song. I hope that you enjoy it and as always comments, suggestions, etc. are appreciated. 32. There are a few setting variables that you can try to improve the accuracy, at least from what I've learned through other users experiences and my own experiences put to a test. For one, I have found that there is an optimal input gain at -8dbfs peak where my plug ins seem to work and sound their best. This peak value always works best, in my experience at least, for transient beat detection by audiosnap. It has far less markers landing on mic bleed transients and less "missing" markers. If you have excessive mic bleed, then i highly suggest rendering your track with a gate to clean it up so that audiosnap will be less distracted. Also, define your timing resolution, tempo map, and every tool to be the same such as 1/16th, and also make sure you are setting the clip to its proper tempo in audiosnap. I work a lot with heavy rock/punk music so I always set the tempo at double time for the metronome to tap out quarter notes for the drummer. But audiosnap is always detecting the tempo half of what i put in so be sure to apply the appropriate one so that those markers fill out as they should. And remember that you can adjust parameters in the inspecter pain for each track that is audiosnap enabled. It's been helpful many times in my hours of discontent. Hopefully that might help with the efficiency of audiosnap, It has with mine so far but it is more likely a per user situation.

  35. I had to log in, go to My Products page and then the message came up saying I was getting the free JP. You can use JP to buy Gear Credits. And the more GC you buy at once, the cheaper it is. IOW, 25 GC will cost $24.99 - 7 JP= $17.99. Buy 1k GC will cost 549.99- 165JP=384.99. So you get 1k worth of GC for way less than half the cost. How you use the GC, and how you are allowed to use your GC, is another story (be aware of restrictions). But they give you a deal on GC if you want it. But I can understand why IK doesn't allow GC and JP to be combined.

  36. Yep, like this a lot . . . right up there with your usual quality standard. Simple and effective. Your vocals are always great, and an excellent job with the harmonies ! . . . since you're still working on this one, well, I'm hearing cellos . . . but that's just me, I love cellos in songs like this.

  42. I've got most of this info in my brain now, a few things I didn't know. The main thing I'm wondering is: How to get audio snap to put so many random, poor markers, right in the middle of a transient. Not even sure why it decides to put them there. It would certainly help to find a way to add the marker in a better place.

  44. HI:) To clarify some button actions here a short video: (I'm doing videos but it takes time) In the video I do: 1. Press Shift button, switch to Bank 2, change Send 1-3, press Shift and the Rotors change Send 1-3 Pan! See mouse pointer. 2. Press Ctrl button, use Slider 1 to Move from bar 1-127, the slider is at the end, now I press Ctrl Button and the Slider is now endless, the upper half do move forward, the lower half backward. 3. Another Shift and Ctrl is to Double Press (within 0.4 seconds) the Transport/Mode buttons (Record Arm, Solo), faster to reach:) I like this more than the normal Shift and Ctrl. I switch back to Preset 1 Bank 1. 4. Short Press Button 9 (Mute) / 5. Double Press Button 9 opens the Control Bar 6. Long Press button 9 copys the selected clip, Move Data Cursor and press button 11 to Paste, press Ctrl for endless rotor 7. press button 12 for "Undo" 3 times / 8. Press Shift button, Shift + Button 9 selects left clip, button 10 right clip 9. Double Press Button 10 opens Multidock, Shift + Long Press Button 9 gives focus to previous TAB, Button 10 next TAB. 10 Double Press Button closes Multidock So we have 5 different actions on Short Press, Double Press, Long Press, Shift and Shift Long Press on just 1 Button and 1 Mode, this was Normal Mode. I have 10 different Modes, so the in principle the Button has about 50 different functions:) Not really, but it could be! So this is what is possible with AZController! A lot.... Bassman.
