They're announcing that they've kidnapped Larry. Jampoints can be used on the ransom.13 points

It was me who spoke (not actually spoke, I wouldn't dare actually speak to the King. This was over PM) to him. He just said he is taking a few weeks holiday/vacation, and wouldn't be posting much. All is good.11 points

Has anyone noticed that there has been a dramatic decrease in the amount of posts that say: That deal has already been posted!!9 points

All we have to do now is wait for another great video from Simeon!4 points

I have this and if everything works out I will do a livestream on Friday around 3:00 pm. It is building on concepts from previous Sample Logic libraries but refining them in a really good way. One of the best updates is the preset browser. It makes it very easy to find what you are looking for. Stay tuned ?4 points

Still nobody knows how long this unauthorized holiday will take? I see trees, everywhere trees.4 points

Honestly, if I were Larry, I'd want to take a break from feeling it was expected that I post every deal out there. Wouldn't blame him for being burned out on having to live up to expectations.4 points

Gary I listened to it on my home PC with some old Altec Lansing speakers. They are not bad speakers, but I wanted to hear it better so I moved up to my studio to listen to it on my monitors. Right off the bat I can hear more focus in the vocal. The delicate parts sound more 'soft', the strong parts still have power but aren't dominating. Simeon's piano sounds beautiful. I can hear much more detail in his playing. The climax sounds great. Clear and powerful. Then it drops back to the soft sound. I thought you did an excellent job on the first mix. But this mix I like better. Just sounds cleaner, focused and just a richness in the upper frequencies. And much more dimension. I did watch and listen to the video, and man... you did an excellent job on that video. Really touching.2 points

I believe if you are within the 90 day of v.4 purchase you can sign in to your "My Presonus" account and go to Your Products Page and click on Studio 4 a "green" redeem button should be present that you would click and follow instructions. If that isn't working, you should contact them in customer service. Hope that helps.2 points

And their pictures show just how excited some can get playing violin!! (I wonder what people were thinking when they come up with marketing materials like this.)2 points

Watching reviews and intro videos I am beginning to find the idea of subscribing to Sphere appealing. I have found MuseScore 2 useful recently for making rough scores for a session singer and found it really useful when writing lyrics but its a bit on the clunky side (it is free so I can't complain.) Having something better that Cakewalk's staff view integrated in the DAW, plus the full stand alone version of Notion available could be very useful. The other standout for me is the keyswitch lanes which look very useful. I am not sure how much the collaboration tools will bring to the party, dropbox seems to be working well enough for me but 30GB of online storage sounds useful and they say it can be accessed by non-Sphere users using other DAWs. I recently upgraded Melodyne and while watching the Groove 3 instruction video I noticed it should communicate with S1's chord track which could be handy. Beyond that I was taken by the fact that some of the new features have been in Cakewalk for a while.2 points

Well at least it shows how much he is appreciated. As soon as he takes a break the whole forum gets nervous!2 points

Note that if you are both a Red Room customer and own Cinemorphx/Morphestra you will get two different coupons, but can only use one of them -- yes, I tried. It also requires the full version of Kontakt. Which seems to be SampleLogic's new thing. The sale price is $249.99 and if you get the discount coupon you get $50 off. The coupons look custom (they aren't generic) but if anyone want's to try here's the one I didn't use: RRA-4gh4-4OfR-omd2-SAI1 point

Yes indeed...been a big fan of Shuffler after listening to this. Their other stuff is excellent as well. Now where our boy Larry? Do we need to send a search party? Hope all is well with him.1 point

In the Reference manual the grid line settings only reference the Drum Pane not the normal piano roll view. Maybe they only work in that view?1 point

Oy. I haven't run up against any of this because so far I've only used a single drum instrument while composing/producing (and used the composition workflow within the other drum machine to bring in my other beat). I am disturbed to hear you say that there are issues with composing with multiple drum instruments. What you say has me thinking I'm going to go with the @chuckebaby method of using the instrument names over on the left and then using the normal MIDI blobs instead of the Drum Grid. My favorite new plaything is Break Tweaker, I've been getting way into David Tipper's most recent collection of insane sound holograms. So far I've been using Break Tweaker's internal workflow separately and having Cakewalk tell it "Play" rather than triggering it as a drum instrument, but I also want to start doing it the other way, where I use its editing capabilities and trigger individual shots as a sampler. My other DAW, Mixcraft, drum maps are very simple, you have the PRV open and it's under a button. You pick the one you want to use and if there isn't one, select "new" and make a new one. No Zork adventuring. Pick up axe, hit zombie with axe. Done. Now you may commence to program your beatz. That's what you mean by "track-based," I think?1 point

Quick hide me I mean I need to inspect the bunker ! Yep he sure is fearless? And I have no problem making jokes at the other side of the aisle too. But with this pandemic and Mr. Oranges denial I'm quite a bit upset with my wife having a chronic health issue and he is sprouting downright lies! Sad truth of it is then he says Fake News if the facts don't agree with him ? Anyway I will bow out before I get my self in trouble here.1 point

A word to the wise, Take caution when mixing different reverb plug ins. Different reflections on different tracks will totally cloud the perception of a mix if not done properly.1 point

Usually in the mix the group of drums (snare, toms) has some specific reverb. Electric guitar sim has also a different reverb. And acoustic guitar too has her own small reverb. And finally vocal has a vocal reverb according to everyone's preferences. The most important thing is to not use tons of reverb like Phil Spector used in some sixties hits.1 point

Traditionally in mixing you only HAD one reverb to work with and that might have been a Plate in the basement. People are sort of used to that and also in the real world if a band is playing in a nice auditorium or hall, then that is the space ( reverb) around the music. We close our eyes and we imagine we are in that space when listening. So that said it depends on if you are trying to create a " real space" or an "unreal space" . To me it jumbles up the music with a lot of different spaces and (depending on the music) can make it tiresome to listen to. So generally I use only one reverb on a buss set at 100% and then send my sub busses or individual tracks to that. This way the "band" is in that same space. The only other place there will be a different reverb is on a guitar amp sim because that's a classic sound. And then some synths often need a little help. But I'm very cautious about using too many "spaces" in a mix.1 point
