KSband Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 This was a tune I did when I first starting playing sax a few years ago. I didn't like some of the horn parts and didn't like the Jamstix drums. I added Ezdrummer3 drums, re-recorded the horn section parts and added a sax/guitar improv at the end. 6
Larry T. Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 You are outstanding at writing music with the perfect amount of dissonance in the chord/instrument voiceings, the kind of writing Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter and Donald Fagen excelled at 🎶 👍 1
KSband Posted November 20, 2024 Author Posted November 20, 2024 Thanks @Larry T. , I wish I was as gifted as those guys!
whoisp Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Mellow jazz to my ears, why does that remind me of Cheech and Chong , love it
DeeringAmps Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 (edited) This had kind of slipped through the cracks. Glad to see it back in rotation! t Edited November 20, 2024 by DeeringAmps
equality Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Love those dissonances and the groove. Impressive and innovative to my ears, vibes of Weather Report and Chik Corea nevertheless.
KSband Posted November 21, 2024 Author Posted November 21, 2024 Thanks for the listen and comments @whoisp, @DeeringAmps and @equality, appreciate it! Weather Report and Return to Forever were big early influences, those guys were geniuses. 1
Bajan Blue Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Hi Always like your stuff and this is no exception Cool track and a very enjoyable listen Nigel
treesha Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Agree with LarryTs comment. The dissonance is interesting and has consonance. The guitar part is nice. The title drew me, reminding me of Jamaican dub poet Mutabaruka's piece called Dis Poem. Enjoyed your work!
MichaelJohn Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 wow I love this kind of vibe! Dig everything going on, sax and guitar solos, but I think I like the brass chops the most. What software for brass chops? Sounds real!
KSband Posted November 24, 2024 Author Posted November 24, 2024 Thanks so much for the kind comments @Ray T, @Bajan Blue, @treesha and @MichaelJohn!
