I watched a video of women where a knitting forum was ruined because of politics. A kitting forum of all things. You never see political posts in Image-Line, Live, and Reason Talk. By all means those who try to turn the Coffee House into their political soapbox should go elsewhere for that. Vi-Control has one and they might not like being challenged.
sjoens Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Request option for dark theme. Too much white for my tired eyes. ? 1
Bruno de Souza Lino Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 I find the whole sub categorization of certain portions of the forum unnecessary. Certain specialized categories, like a section for "veterans", do nothing but alienate members apart. Then you end up with a small group here, another there, no communication between those, could create issues with new users, etc. Takes away the feeling of a welcoming place, especially if the over categorization leads to confused users or new users being micro modded by older users. 1 1

sjoens Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 (edited) LOL. At least with dark themes you don't "see" 'em as easily. Edited August 20, 2021 by sjoens

rfssongs Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 I'd like to see a section for user shared techniques. As in: This is the way I do this ...... Allowing users to share their knowledge of a specific topic. All under one main topic heading, with a thread for each new topic as a kind of user supplied tutorial. The idea being to group these together rather than spread throughout the Forum.

Fauna84263542 Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Hi there, I think that specifically in the Q&A section, it can be a little confusing that the "Meh" reaction emoji (a thumbs down) is distinct from a downvote and does not affect the score of a post. Perhaps a face emoji for "Meh" would be better.
Byron Dickens Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 I fully agree! Thumbing own a post shouldn't affect someone's community reputation. "I didn't like your post" is not the same thing as "I don't like you." I don't think it makes any sense that a new person can be given a "poor reputation" because (to make up an example) he started a thread on "IKM moving to subscription model." (They aren't.)
Starship Krupa Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 OMG, did something change with the forum software? I just discovered that when I click on an embedded image I can actually zoom in on it rather than continuously clicking and getting the same size. There's a secret to it, though, you must initially click near the edge of the image. If you click the center, it does the useless behavior I'm used to. Has it always been this way and I was just clicking in the center (I know, foolish me)?

Bruno de Souza Lino Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Could we have posts close automatically once nobody has responded to them after some period like a month or a year? 1 1
Byron Dickens Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 I think you should disallow people from using their email address as their username or publishing it in their posts. This forum is publicly viewable and that is a prime way that spam bots get people's email addresses.
Johnbee58 Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 (edited) Back in 2013 I made the huge mistake of joining the Propellerhead Reason forum. I'm still paying for it to this day. They required my email address and then got hacked. They since closed the forum down but my email address wound up on the dark web (according to my ID Sheild) and I continue to get about 30 to 50 pieces of spam every single day. I 'd love to change my email address but I pay most if my bills automatically on line through this email account. Yes, there is no reason why a music forum would need your email address ?John B Edited July 17, 2023 by Johnbee58
