  1. One of the things that I have always found odd about T-RackS, is the complete lack of even one digital delay. It's such a basic thing. They have so many compressors and EQs, limiters, mastering devices, three reverbs--but not a single digital delay. If you think of Soundtoys or any of their competition, you can see how big an omission this is. I don't think you can even call T-RackS fully featured until they cover this very basic category. The only previous delay in T-RackS Max is their Vintage Tape Echo. An extremely niche product. So now another vintage device, one which has been modeled tremendously well by everybody from AudioThing to Arturia. I'm sure they will do it well too, maybe even better, but it's not like we need it. You can paint any picture on top of a plugin and make it look analog, but the truth is--it's digital. And if you have a first-rate digital plugin that can be configured a billion ways, you can have presets that will sound like that particular vintage device. Why do it this way? The answer is... marketing. People want to feel like they "own" the gear they desired when they were kids. So you can sell more plugins. IK does do the nostalgia thing very well with their plugins, but, aside from their amazing Black 76, the T-RackS I use the most are the ones they've designed themselves. Like the reverbs and ONE. They have the skills to create things better than anybody. I hope this signals that they will get into digital delays because I'm sure whatever they come up with will be great.
  2. The Atsia Percussion and Silk Road Percussion are really good. I own a lot of expensive world percussion libraries and these totally stand up. They are often available separately in the $3-$5 range. At that price, it's about a good a deal as I've ever seen offered for a first class virtual instrument library. FYI, if you have iLok. you can demo any of these "SONiVOX Singeles" from the SONiVOX site. Because I like Atsia and Silk Road so much, I have demoed a few of the others, but never bought any. It's interesting to hear that there are some other gems in there, and it doesn't surprise me.
  3. Every day, I go into Google and post the secret codes FORUM and GROUP, but so far it hasn't brought either of them back. ?
  4. You could write them. I corresponded with a guy there name Russ, who may be Mr. Monkee. I made some suggestions about Groove Agent, which he took. Very nice guy. But Groove Agent just uses pretty standard MIDI files. EZBass uses very proprietary ones. It remains to be seen whether they would give out their code to others. How many third party EZKeys expansions do you know of? And EZKeys is a much, much simpler instrument than EZBass. I would guess that if you dragged these files into EZBass they would sound great from the beginning, as they have the timing and velocity that sounds like a real bass. But then... you could take them a lot further with the unique EZBass articulations. Having said that, there's no reason why Russ couldn't do the same thing. But Groove Monkee is a company that just sells MIDI recorded directly from real players. EZBass is an instrument meant for programming, in my opinion. MIght be more work than the payoff.
  5. This is sounding like something that's not worth downloading. Too much hassle? Or worth it?
  6. THERE AIN'T NO MAGNETITE HIGH ENOUGH! AIN'T NO RIVER WIDE ENOUGH! TO KEEP ME FROM GETTING THAT FREE BLACK ROOSTER PLUG!
  7. Two interesting things: One - Native Instruments seems to have thrown their focus into media composers with this new instance of Komplete, with this, as well as Straylight, Pharlight, and Mysteria. You can even argue that a first tier violin and a soundscape piano like Noire are not really products aimed at the EDM crowd. Even Mallet Flux. Two - It's really wild that Orchestral Tools is teaming up with them to make this right when they are ditching Kontakt for Sine. Why isn't this a Sine project? This may have sealed the deal for me about buying Komplete 13. But I'm still hoping for a new Discovery Series library.
  8. I was making fun of myself. People who follow my posts know that I put up way too much information in them. All kinds of stuff you could go to the actual site and learn if you are interested. Which most are not. ? But knowing all these changes to the newest version of Kontakt is about as irrelevant to this group as I can imagine, for example this biggie: ADDED KSP: New constant for handling release velocity ($EVENT_PAR_REL_VELOCITY) A real game-changer. It's impossible for me to think of anything I personally could care less about, so why did I share it with my friends on this group? So yes, I win the prize. A special prize for me. ?
  9. Husker may have got there first, but I provided more pointless details that nobody cares about. ?

  12. I didn't. https://cinesamples.com/productGroup/freebies?fbclid=IwAR2mcEcO81fvr5-5B-x-n6zIyziQk-1mu3vP8KezKD-lhPxOyFpW91MBgHQ
  13. I think I'll be going with this for $3.08. Unless I find something cheaper. https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/3-Studio-Tools/68-Sample-Packs/5917-Sample-Diggers-Label-Sampler I have an older version of Reason and have nostalgic affection for these instruments. It's likely I'll go for the upgrade to Reason 12 when it comes out.
  14. Here's my ROLI video. Is there a more appropriate place on the Cakewalk forums for me to be posting these? Nobody knows Tiger there... Let me know what you think of my bombastic Tiger the Frog theme. ? Also had fun with the Animator patch from the Free Orchestra at the end.
  15. Please keep posting what you're going to buy to get this... ?
  16. It's out today. $149 until July 13th, when it will be $199. https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/cinematic/stradivari-violin/?content=5425
  17. No, I haven’t tried that. Maybe someday.
  18. Is Transfuser 2 the same one as is in the full AIR bundle? The current bundle at APD is the best one they've ever offered. It has all the usual suspects in the AIR bundle, plus Loom II, Boom and Vacuum Classic.
  19. This is a pretty serious update and very soon. Toontrack really wants to get this right. ?
  20. All video capture programs don't have problems recording what's playing on your screen, from YouTube to movies to video games. But DAWs are an exception. I tried everything. Lots of video capture programs. But I didn't get anywhere until I searched online and found out about Voicemeeter. Essentially you set up your DAW to go out a virtual audio to this audio utility Voicemeeter. Then your screen capture, in my case the free OBS, accepts the sound from Voicemeeter. So I have Cubase going to Voicemeeter to OBS. Plus I'm recording my voice on a lav separately into my iPhone. One of the first ones I did was totally screwed up because OBS recorded the sound of my webcam. Anyway, gradually you learn how to set everything up. And then in these I was working with two cameras and green screen (which requires careful lighting) Whew! ?
  21. This particular video will just make one simple point. I will ask people if they want to hear more of what I think, and if they do in the comments, I'll do more of them, maybe a small series. But I will say that the product I like the most is the lightpad block, if you can get it during a sale for $100. You can use it for so many things. An XY pad, or a bunch of XY pads. A set of 4 sliders that can control any MIDI CC or mixing levels. Obviously a drum pad that you can map any way you want--I find it useful for world percussion where there all these different sounds depending where on the pad you hit is. A mini-Ableton controller. etc etc. All your settings can be saved as presets and called up whenever you want.
  22. Yes, the headphone cord does look pretty shmutzy. I'm going to experiment next time with making the headphone cord go down my back. These two took FOREVER to make because I made a million mistakes. It took me a very long time even to get Voicemeeter working so I could pump Cubase into OBS. Nobody tells you that no screen capture program will record a DAW. ? After them I did a video on Organic Samples' Solo Opera and I had the breakthrough of being able to look into the camera. I'll keep at it and will get better. My next one will be about the ROLI Seaboard. I intend to do a video someday to show people ways to save money. And one of my top tips will be Larry the King. ? Thanks for the subscribes!
