I always download UVI direct. I find their downloader to be hopeless.

I remember when Adagietto first went on sale for around a hundred bucks. People went crazy on social media about how cheap that was and what a great deal it was. What a difference a few years make. It's half the price of that deal. And so many other inexpensive or free things have come out that it seems less of a deal.

I am content with the Cinematic Studio Series and whatever I can afford from Orchestral Tools, which means the Inspires and the Time Series, bought on sale. The only thing by Spitfire I use is Tundra. I don't foresee myself buying any other orchestral instrument libraries except for The Orchestra 2, which I love for all the animated presets. I hope I'm almost done with Orchestral, but who knows. So I regret some of the 8dio orchestral stuff I bought, although they have a lot to offer. But their Wrenchenspiel is still my favorite Wrenchenspiel. I kid. The Wrenchenspiel is really great and a steal at $8.

I was on the fence about this because I am spending a lot of money lately AND The Orchestra Complete 2 also came out today, but the very knowledgeable Mark Schmieder put me over the top on this in the forum link above. He knows what he's talking about. It's more than worth the upgrade price. But I would still love to hear your responses to the new stuff as I don't know when I'll be able to get to this.

I don't see any sign that they have changed any of the old samples since Version One. One thing I should point out is that while there are new recordings of instruments, a lot of these same instruments or very similar were included in the old World Suite. There was an Er Hu and now they have an Erhu. They had a Karimba before (the original African thumb piano) and now they have a Kalimba, which is the Karimba thumb piano that Hugh Tracey marketed to the west. There was a playable didgiridoo with lots of phrases, that I actually thought was one of the very best things in World Suite. There's a duduk--it's terrible, but there's a duduk. And of course there were steel drums in the West Indies section! ? I have no doubt that they wouldn't be putting in new recordings if they didn't feel there was room for improvement. But it is a little misleading to say Version 2 adds 48 instruments. Many were already there. Also I don't know where the samples for the instruments came from. It was pretty obvious that a lot of the best instruments that were added in World Suite were from PrecisionSound. Great accordions. To my knowledge, World Suite was mainly or all a collection of instuments and loops from other libraries that UVI reworked and gave the typical UVI interface to. Largely MOTU. Did UVI record all these new instruments? They don't say. As a world music obsessive, my kneejerk response is to just buy this. But I have built my world music collection up a lot since I first bought World Suite. So now I have some pretty nice versions of the instruments I actually want, like Tarilonte's Duduk, and the Erhus in Strezov's Jade Ethnic Orchestra.

I know. One of these days I will have to finally get it together and compose my Wrenchenspiel concerto.

My favorites are the Claire Woodwinds and the New Sopranos. I bought some of their orchestral libraries but don't use them much. Not that there's anything wrong with them, it's just that I eventually purchased libraries I like better. The problem with 8dio is their pricing is so radically different from one day to the next. So many things go on sale for $18 or even $8. It's very hard to buy, even when there is what seems like an excellent price. A forum like this is a good way to find out how low an instrument went for. It will probably go back to that price one day--or even lower. I have bought all kinds of things on 8dio silly sales just because they were so ridiculously cheap, and they aren't getting tremendously much use in my music.

First, I do understand that you would like to see a walkthrough. That seems reasonable. But on the other hand, Bela D offers limited demos on most of their libraries. You get a few notes. I think that in many ways that's better than a walkthrough. What better way to decide if a library is for you than to play it yourself? ? A lot of you may not know this, but Bela D was one of the very first developers doing vocal libraries. Among others, Tarilonte got his start with them. Their stuff used to be REALLY expensive and has appeared in a ton of movies. To me the big thing is the quality of the recording and samples. I realize that marketing for virtual instruments is focused on GB and number of round robins and velocity layers, etc., but I have a lot of libraries I love that have very small footprints, like Art Vista's Malmsjo piano. Very small file, but one of my favorites. And walktrhoughs have bamboozled me more than once. I would recommend that people take the time to download the demo for this and other Bela D libraries. In particular, I highly recommend you check out Diva Revamp, and of course, Sora, which I made a video on. Finally, I see that I jumped the gun on my post above. I have Paravox, but Paravox X is a new instrument. It's not an upgrade. But if it's better than Paravox, then it's something very exciting.

I suspect this is about the 59 million that NI took from the "Private Equity" company EMH. I doubt that EMH put any of their own money in, they just borrowed it. In the deal, they paid themselves millions out of what they borrowed. And some people at NI got rich too. So now they have to pay for the fees everybody got for the deal, and now they have interest payments. Now they are deep, deep in the hole for the money they borrowed. You were doing fine with your business but now you have to pay all that back. These companies usually strip the companies down to the bone in order to make them more "profitable". I think there are a few examples where Private Equity deals worked out t to the advantage of the companies because they used the infusion of capital to their advantage. But there are much more examples of where the companies closed. So....the first thing happened at NI was the big bloodbath of firings. A company is more profitable if you cut costs. And maybe these NI guys aren't enjoying what's going on, so they are leaving. I don't think subscription is happening for this go-round of Komplete and I don't think anybody who paid for it will ever lose ownership. But at some point there may be a Composer Cloud type thing where you can play monthly and have access to everything the day it comes out. I'm not very worried. The worst case scenario in my mind is that these assholes will kill the old NI but it will be resurrected. Like Cakewalk.

NI always includes EVERYTHING that was released before a new version of Komplete Ultimate comes out. It doesn't matter if one of their libraries came out a few weeks before. (The full symphony series was extra and later turned up in their CE.) I frankly am surprised that they haven't released an effects pack to expand on Raum and they haven't yet released a Discovery library, the first time in many years. I expect the announcement about KU13 will come no later than September and the product will be out by October. KU11 was announce in August. KU13 will be 50% off in the summer of 2021 *I think what you may be confusing is that NI doesn't put new products on sale right away.

When I don't buy directly from developers, I've bought all my software online at AudioDeluxe, JRRShop, Plugin Boutique, Time+Space, Best Service, and on one occasion, Everyplugin.com. Also a few things that required boxes from places like Musicians Friend and Zzounds. But I've never used PluginFox, probably because nobody here ever recommended them. Maybe write them? They are better off with you buying it now rather than waiting for a sale someday. Anyway you have nothing to lose. I've been busy, but I'm looking forward to demoing this as I am such a Sonible fan. I remember when I went to IMSTA in New York. The Sonible booth was the best place (along with Greg Ondo of Steinberg). They were very patient and gave me really straight talk, which led me to buy the compressor. As I already loved their EQs, it didn't take a lot to convince me. ?

As I have Amplitube MAX, I've got this already. They came out with SVX2 later. IMHO it is one of the greatest freebies IK has given out, and they've done a lot of them. And it worked with me. I bought T-RackS, after I got Black 76 in Computer Music. It's still one of my go-to compressors.
