One more thought about Reaper, get the (independent) SWS Extensions (donation ware) and azslow3's ReaCWP Reaper plugin to open a CbB cwp file in Reaper to "pretty much" get your outstanding projects into Reaper format. I've only tested about 10 projects and have only had to make some very minor adjustments.

You can try all this today as Reaper installs as fully functioning demo from the download page.

$80 for a perpetual DAW license is quite appealing - but at this price, Harrison, Reaper, and Presonus' Studio 1 artist are all in that $80-100 range.

If $80 were my budget I'd go with Reaper. V7 was just droped and a license is good for 2 versions (i.e. 7 and 8 right now) which traditionally is around two years.

Harrison is more like 18 month cycles between versions but the upgrade cost is not break the bank level (around $50 IIRC).

  3. As a reminder, when you buy Mixbus or Mixbus32C all of their XT plugins work without a license (with a very basic interface, looking a lot like Reaper plugins). The license for the XT plugins simply get you the UI skin you see in the ads. No installers needed, all the XT plugins are imbedded in the DAW.

Harrison did this so that, let's say, I own all the XT licenses and you don't. If I send you a full project using the XT plugins all across the song you will hear what I heard and you can edit the plugins (using the basic interface)  save and send me the project back and I will hear what you changed.

  4. I'm confused. Was Kontakt7 in K13UCE or K14UCE (or both). I have Kontakt 7 and I never upgrade just Kontakt.

I swear I purchased an upgrade from K13UCE to K14UCE but Native Access doesn't tell me which I'm on, it only shows the various components installed.

My NI account on the web says I purchased K13UCE on 2 June 2021. Maybe I bought the upgrade elsewhere (jrrshop etc.)?

Yes, it's an infomercial for Gullfoss. But it includes relatable demonstrations of frequency masking that makes it worth a watch.

During the month of November, Gullfoss is 40% off. Be aware, though, that this plugin uses Pace copy protection and requires an iLok account. For me, that means Gullfoss will never be part of my collection. Fortunately, I have other, non-iLok, processors that resolve frequency masking well enough.

I keep forgetting to work with Gullfoss

  6. I got what I wanted. I bought 3 PA F29 codes to round out what I wanted.

And then I was reminded that I have a $100 discount voucher for PA MEGA, via ProTools Inner Circle. I bought the yearly subscription for $199 and I now have immediate access to all new plugins from today forward and in one year I can choose 10 of those for ownership.

There was an lower intro price when they were introduced, but no sale ever since.

I guess I'll just pick it up 1 Jan 2024 then. I can make my 10 choices on 1 Jan 2025 but will have the year to decide which I want.

As of right now, I just don'town:
Louder Than Liftoff Silver Bullet mk2
    THX Spatial Creator
    bx_console AMEK 200

Even if all three went on sale at 50% off that would be $500, so $300 for the year is the next best alternative to my stupidly stopping my F29 sub at the end of life for it.
