First the quick answer: The "Master" is just an output buss that is named "Master". All you need to do is add a new buss, set the output (the drop down under IN/OUT) to the stereo output of you interface. Then rename the buss to Master. You will now have a master buss. Now the better answer: When you open up cakewalk, bring up the "Start Screen" if it is not automatically shown and pick a new project (basic for example) . This project will already have a "Master Buss" setup in it. If no start screen, go to the "File" menu and select it. If you have a desire to make a custom startup project, set it up as you would like and save it as a "Template" and you will always have the start project you need to do your work. Syphus

Sorry I implied it, but search this forum . . . At the top of the page, there is a search box. You might find what you want. The process is somewhat straight forward . . . Get a VST plugin that will play SF2 files - Load it with the sound font you want to use (in Cakewalk) - Use midi to play the sounds

I tried saving both ways and each case the WAV files in the "Audio" folder retained the original names (prefixes) Also what I saw as a difference was this: The "SaveAs" version, the project is now the "Copied" (new name) project. The "Save Copy As", the current project loaded is still the old one and if you wanted to access the new name, you would have to open that project. Syphus

@msmcleodI understand that part of "SaveAs", What I'm asking specifically is: The Audio file(s) under the "Audio" sub-folder (directory) have the original original project "name" associated with them (in this case "Project 1") - "Do those files have to remain named as they were originally so as to be properly be associated with the tracks in the project"? Is there no way to change the WAV files names/track association. I'm assuming that the case is they would have to be as the original . . . but I want to know for sure . . . This question is a bit technical . . . The question comes up occasionally, "I started my project without a proper name, but now I have one, how do I change this in the project folder . . . . The answer I have seen is: Do a "SaveAs" with the "save audio with project" box checked off . . . But I noticed something. Say I start a project as "Project 1" and now I want to Change it to "Prairie dogs on the Wing". I do a "SaveAs" and now the folder and the cakewalk file are renamed. As look into the files under the new folder, I notice that the WAV files, in the audio folder, are named with "Project 1". Example shown below: Project 1, Track 4, Rec (29).wav Do these files have to remain the same name as when they were originally created? Can they be renamed? My first thought is, "How does The DAW know what audio files to use?" If I change them, does the DAW not know what tracks they belong to? Normally I would not care as long as the file still functions (as a newly rename project). But what if you needed to identify them such as in "cleaning up audio". Would they still be associated with "changed name" It has got me curious . . . Is there an answer? Please let me know Thanks, Syphus

@msmcleod After checking out the above suggestion, I find that it is not adequate for what I was trying to accomplish. Yes, this will allow one to shrink the strips (tracks) to a minimum, but once that is done, the double arrows in the top right corner are now useless. Clicking on them does nothing to expand the strip since this is now the collapse & expand height. I can see this has some function (CTRL + resize track), but not what I wanted to do. I would again suggest that "expand/collapse" support the quick grouping of tracks. Thanks, Syphus

Thanks - I knew of that trick. I just thought there might be something like CTRL click on the double arrow in the right hand corner (with all the tracks selected in the folder). Of course, I could not get that to work . . . I'll check it out and see if it will do me for now . . . and I have to add: Developers should add this, I think it might be useful . . . LOL Syphus

Is there a keyboard binding that will allow the collapse or expansion of the "all selected tracks" in the Track View? I have looked and can not seem to find any keyboard commands. What I want to do is select all the tracks in a given Folder and collapse/expand them all at once (not Take Lanes). Thanks, Syphus

Here is another method that I sometimes use . . . Set up a audio track the way you want to use it (input, FX, etc). Select this track and "right-click". Hold the "Ctrl" key and click on "Duplicate Track". This will bring up a dialog that you can select how many tracks you want. All duplicate track will have the same properties as the first (the original). If you are intending to use folders, place original in a folder first, before you duplicate and all the dupes will be in the folder also. Hope this helps . . . Syphus

That was what I was thinking. I believe that if it is a version before it was moved to the "Views" menu, then you can click in the browser to bring the Synth View up.

Hello . . . I may not be the best person to answer this, but I did have an observation. On your screenshot above, there does not seem to be a "Lens" drop down. You were saying you did not know what to use per various references in forum topics (lens vs Workspace). Workspace is used for the Bandlab versions of Cakewalk (I don't know when Workspaces were introduced in Cakewalk). Sonar Platinum should be using "Lenses". It appears you are showing Platinum, but as I said, I see no "Lens" drop down. Here is a link to the documentation for lenses: https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Lenses.1.html If you had this available you could set it to "Basic" and I believe your menu option in Views would have a item: Synth Rack View Alt+9 You can try this command and see what happens. I opened my version of Platinum and the selection did appear on my "View" menu drop down. This also happened to me. I was not sure if it was EZBass or Cakewalk. New projects were fine (adding EZBass in set up). But this one project it kept crashing. I ended up transferring my main tracks to a new project and there was no more problem (other than the time factor of rebuilding the project). For now I suggest that you create a new project, add EZBass (even if you are not ready for it yet) and start your work. I have not approached support for either app at this time. I can tell you that this started happening after the last update of EZBass along with the 2021-10 release of Cakewalk (this is why I do not know whom to suspect). Making a template with all your required elements (bass, drums, guitar app) might help avoid this situation for now . . . The dump file is from EZBass - I was too busy to try to analyze the dump to see what had happened. I did not see a dump from Cakewalk though. In my case, cakewalk did crash, but I think it was because of EZBass. Perhaps setting the debug level in Cakewalk could help gather more info . . . I'm just busy at the moment and don't feel like being sidetracked (if I have a solution that is working). Anyone experiencing this and finds the solution to the problem, please post it here for all to see . . . I have to believe at this point that other are having this problem also. Thanks, Syphus

Hi, First question is: Did you install cakewalk? If the answer is "Yes", the did you try starting cakewalk from the "Cakewalk" Icon on your desktop? I don't recall ever trying to start it from the "Bandlab" app . . . Syphus

Did it just go-away or do you have a hollow dialog box? I just had an experience with it not updating correctly . . . had to contact support. Try installing the update again. Syphus
