  1. The only huge difference for me ( besides "Bloat" eg 53 expansions ) would be Kontakt 8 vs 6. You look at the synths - pretty much exact same as is in K13 Other than that of interest to me is - Session Guitarist – Electric Mint Session Guitarist – Strummed Acoustic, Session Guitarist – Electric Sunburst are in K13 I think. Ok there is iZotope Ozone 11 Standard, I have Ozone 11 elements. Next we have Guitar Rig 7 Pro .. In K13 its Guitar Rig 6 Pro. Not sure there is a huge difference TBH Komplete really is about the core products? - Kontakt, Battery, Guitar rig, Massive, Reaktor. Only update to these in 15 is Kontakt 8 vs 6 and guitar rig 7 vs 6 .. Is that worth €99?
  2. Really betwixt and between on this one. I have Komplete 13. Not sure there is a dramatic huge difference in usage terms or functionality between the two of them really? Better to put €100 toward something else perhaps ..
  3. So I have Komplete 13 .. I can go to Komplete 15 for €99. While this looks interesting - 2 version jumps - I wonder will Komplete 16 be out shortly and if so will they offer same or similar price ( €99 upgrade that is ), would that be normal?
  4. @Larry Shelby Site not working here cross the pond in Ireland - white screen
  5. Yes @Magic Russ .. trying the same there - updating my V8 instruments - with that same error so gave up. Id say there servers getting hammered with this new version And my upgrade from V8 is €299 .. so em fck noooooo
  6. What deal was it? i can see if similar buying from Ireland - we have 23% VAT rate
  7. Just installed SCALER 3 ( upgrade ) I notice - standalone anyway - it doesnt seem to explicitly show ASIO Note WINDOWS Audio but no ASIO option .. Unless its Windows Audio ( Low latency Mode )
  8. I tried this on a number of systems / laptops the last while. More often than not i downgraded to windows 10 again because win11 is a complete hog in comparison to the more "refined" windows 10 ( has the age advantage ). The slickness of Windows 10 took a while to get to, no dount same for windows 11. Yes i suppose there is an element of hardware ability here, windows 11 wants the core i7+ and loadsa ram etc to perform properly. In the game dev world its like Epic Enreal Engine, nothing but a very high spec system will do .. other than that forget it
  9. @GTsongwriter TBH i would say in most tools like Guitar Rig etc you might get better results by making your own preset from scratch rather than depending on untweaked presets. Load up components and start noodling with settings until you get what you want. Nothing plugin wise will replace pushing air I dont think and the sound from a plugin all depends on the hardware/speakers you are playing it out through. I have in past used my guitar through AMP miced or out through the Pre amp full jack at the back, into Audio I/F ( I use Audient EVO 4 ). Add a DI box there to then record 2 tracks in Cakewalk - one dry and the other effected from the amp. Then load GI or similar into the dry track and start noodling with the components to build a similar sound TONEX CS ( Free ) might be worth a go as an alt, there is also the Tonex Pedal thats causing waves in guitar circles. I started off a thread recently here about TONEX, you might find it interesting to read:
  10. @GTsongwriter FOR FREE you could try out the Native Instruments GUITAR RIG Player: https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/guitar/guitar-rig-7-player/ Its part of Komplete Start which is a load of free versions of NIs instruments inc Guitar Rig .. ALSO FREE TONEX CS from IK Multimedia: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/tonex/index.php?p=freesoftware
  11. The alternatives to the Tonex BUT more expensive: The KEMPER PROFILER Player - https://www.kemper-amps.com/products/uk/profiler-player.html - About €600 The Quad Cortex - https://neuraldsp.com/quad-cortex - €1699 OUCH - €1699 - This in a smaller venue and a drunk audience member pours a pint all over it This happened to me and my BOSS GT at a wedding we were playing in Carrigaline Hotel, Carrigaline, Co. Cork IRELAND. This drunk guy bounded up on the stage to talk to the singer to the left of me. Held his pint glass away from himself and poured it right into my GT-8. For such eventuality I did have another older pedal board. Yer man fcks off .. not a bother on him, and no I did not get paid for a new board
  12. Thanks @Brian Walton .. Still not bought the TONEX pedal box - yet. Most likely an IK sale at some point that will drop the current €350 price for me ( Europe, VAT ) along with jampoints i have I really like the idea of a box like this to a DI / XLR and then to front of house / monitor wedges and no backline. In my last "covers" band we did away with backline and did just what i mentioned. I just had my Boss GT-8 pedal unit out to front of house etc and a feed of my guitar back to a wedge on stage. Less equipment to lug around. Also able to control on stage sound alot better, but then we used backing track drums TBH I dont really need to model much, but would be interested in somehow duplicating the work horse 8 patches I had on the BOSS GT-8. But not a huge "deal breaker" .. only do so if it was reasonable in both effort and cost otherwise find existing Tonex patches that are like the GT ones
  13. @Brian Walton "If you have one of the IK interfaces with a DI out it is easy though you need a very good graphics card to do advanced captures in a somewhat reasonable time. " Can you go into a bit more "dummies Guide" detail on this one? Yes I have a DI. So out of the TONEX, into the DI, then via XLR on DI to Audio I/F??? "That capture unit isn't necessary but is helpful for DI captures without a mic and blasting your amp. " So you can do captures w/o this unit via your amp mic-ed up? What software is used BTW?
  14. SO - for you to be able to tone model your own gear or others you need a seperate peice of kit called TONEX Capture: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/tonexcapture/ Another €300 for us in Europe inc vat ( sales tax ) I watched this interesting video about the capture process .. and it sounds like a right pain in the a*rse. Have a look. Anyone tried this yet? And yes there is a PROBLEM in comparison to other - albeit - far dearer solutions like the Kemper Pedal or the quad cortex
  15. Im in Europe / Ireland. Here we have VAT - Value added tax @23% ( in US I think its similar to sales tax?? ) So w/o jampoints my price is €399 ex VAT or €491 inc vat So amazon UK at €350 inc taxes and delivery so far is cheapest even if I take off €91 jampoints from the IK price of €491 inc vat
  16. Hi guys, Im really considering this TONEX PEDAL ( at amazon its €350 inc delivery and includes the TONEX MAX software thats €120 to get seperate ). So the pedal is costing you €230 .. so to speak https://www.amazon.co.uk/IK-Multimedia-TONEX-Pedal-learning/dp/B0BV2Z8YYW https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/tonexpedal/?pkey=tonex-pedal I watched this vid reviewing this TONEX Pedal in a live environment. The Guy live DOESNT use an amp anymore. Just out of tonex to DI with XLR to desk and uses in ear monitors. Have a look at his videro here: In the vid he does mention a slight disadvantage that when switching patched there is a very slight delay. As always a good work around is provided in the comments: "Hey man, glad you're loving the Tonex. It's certainly an awesome bit of kit. In the vid you mention a delay when switching presets so wanted to suggest a tip which might help you with that. Out of the box, the Tonex is set up to switch patches on Release of the footswitch, not on Press. This is so you can use A+B or B+C together to switch up and down banks. Personally, I hated the way that felt - I want my patch to switch as soon as I stomp on the footswitch. So if you're happy to do without the option for bank up/down on the unit itself, then you can make your footswitches operate on Press and it feels MUCH more responsive. You said you're only using 3 patches, so it sounds like that'll suit you. But even if you want the option for bank up/down later, you can just plug a cheap 2-button momentary switch into the ext.control jack with a TRS cable and problem solved. Hope that helps, brother!" You have an EXT CONTROL full jack at the back:
  17. @IK Multimedia This OFFER appears to be still there ( once you login you use rewards to drop price to $49.99 ) https://audioplugin.deals/product/tonex-by-ik-multimedia/ BUT Its just called TONEX. If you look at the IK site that version seems not to be available no more - now only Tonex MAX or the FREE CS https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/tonex/index.php?p=versions SO - do you end up buying a product and find its no longer available over at audioplugin DOT deals?

  19. Arturia's offering for €149 ... no doubt will be on sale at some stage https://www.arturia.com/products/software-instruments/cs-80v/overview
  20. @ZincT "The problem was that I couldn't start the program to change VST paths etc as it was just stuck on VB-ROYAL during the startup scan." To sort that i usually just temp rename the vst folder names. Go into Vegas. Rename the plugin folders bak to norm. Go to prefs / vst settings / rescan. Best though to seperate EFX Vsts from VSTis to own folders
  21. @ZincT With VEGAS on board I got round this by setting up a seperate NOT WORK WITH VEGAS vst folder and put the plugins causing trouble in vegas in here. Did not ref that folder in vegas VST prefs / paths. Of late though I have moved to setting up the following folder paths - c:\audio data\vstplugins64 - c:\audio data\vst effects In c:\programfiles\commonfiles\vst3 I have setup c:\programfiles\commonfiles\vst3\vst effects So once plugins installed I manually drag drop the EFFECTS vsts into these 2 effects folders and the other folders then just have the VSTi's / instruments. So now for likes of Sound Forge, Audacity, Vegas and other programs that DONT use the VSTi's I just put the vst effects folder paths into the VST Prefs/Paths and not the VSTi folder paths
  22. Once logged in at https://www.plugins-samples.com/ and then go to DOWNLOADS and if already subscribed you will see the AAS link inc code to deliver the 2 free packs. Language no matter, you dont need the mag itself.
  23. Yip @ZincT .. its €122 for me as VAT @23% added here in Ireland. So even with the €15 jampoints its still bit too saucy for me also. Will wait too
